Chicken and Broccoli

Very good Chinese food. My entire life I have refused to eat Chinese leftovers and gosh be darned their sesame chicken was still crisp and delicious the next day even after being microwaved. So far I have been a very happy customer

Located in a strip mall, in front of Walmart, New China is about what you'd expect. It's Americanized, Chinese food that's ready quickly. Working nearby, speed is relevant for a lunch hour and also why they get an extra star. You will not be transported to Beijing. You will get a nice meal to scratch that Chinese-food itch you maybha

New China is open on most major holidays (not those fake "Greeting Card" holidays)! Call ahead to make sure they are open!

New China is a typical Chinese take-out joint near Leo's Coney Island and Walmart in central Saline off State Street (across the street from the Ford dealership). Pros: Fast, the food is tasty without using a ton of MSG (I am allergic), and they are open on most holidays (call ahead to check). Reasonable prices. (And I am a cheap MF'er!) Good portions. Better soups than other Chinese places. The value picks are the excellent and reasonably-priced lunch and dinner combo plates. New China makes better food than the Chinese take-out places back home in SF where I lived for 28+ years. San Francisco is a really competitive Chinese take-out market so I am not comparing New China with some random (and only) brown-sauce place in an isolated one road town in Wyoming! Cons: Service is like talking to a stone statue. They take your order and your money and after a few minutes, give you a brown bag with your food. Straightforward. A smile or a bit of personality would be nice but they are not here to be your best friend nor your shrink either. The packing of the food to-go is suspect too: great for them but when you set the bag either in the back seat or foot well of your car, a word to the wise: DOUBLE-CHECK the center of gravity of the bag. On numerous occasions, the soups packed on top made the bag top-heavy and the bag flipped over (often to bad effect) when I touched the brakes. New China is in a stripmall next to Great Clips and the store front is narrow so it's easy to miss. They have an extensive menu. They offer the classics to be sure like cashew chicken and chicken lo mein but not more exotic stuff like honey walnut shrimp or sauteed goat testicles (just kidding!) Be sure to carefully examine BOTH sides of the extensive, small-print menu or you are going to be really put out upon discovering that like this rained-on, completely soaked fellow who ran in and ordered in a real hurry... There are tables in New China, but in coming here for nearly a year, I have NEVER seen a single customer use a table - all their business is take-out! (Constant stream, like picnic ants)... Worth the extra drive from the other side of Saline or Pittsfield and south Ann Arbor. Enjoy! Note: I did not get jack for writing this review, nor am I connected with the owners (who obviously knows what they are doing) I am just a hungry, cheap disabled retiree MF'er who hates to light his money on FIRE!

This was my first time visiting this place! I've had better Chinese food then this, I feel their rice is flavorless. Also their spring rolls don't have much flavor either! At least I gave them a try.

Hot. Fresh. Fast…read more You will not be disappointed by this place. Likely the most affordable and authentic ramen in the area. Try the crispy pork to share and a bowl of ramen -- you will be beyond full!

Oh hell yeah, I came here last Friday by high recommendation from my friend who is a local here and…read moreshe told me this was the original location and just better. Their online menu does not have the pictures that the in store one has and woowee it is a lot of choices of noodles! Amongst the 4 of us, we ordered the pork tip noodle, the Peking pork (zhajiangmian), hot oil wide noodle, beef tendon knife noodle. YUM! The noodles are handmade, handpulled and you can customize the shape and thickness you want! The portions as you can see are massive and the prices are very reasonable! $14/$15 a bowl! My pork rib tips were too tough but still seasoned. I would say their Peking style zhajiangmian is pleasantly less authentic and I liked this version better than the original! It included a braised full egg, and not too much of the cloyingly sweet and intense sauce. We ordered and within 2 minutes we were served fresh bowls of piping hot noods. Our server was efficient, warm, knowledgeable and bilingual. She said I looked like a popular Hong Kong singer, like OMG what a cute compliment! There was convenient parking and it was really close to my friend's house. Highly recommend!

The food here is classic old school Chinese like you had as a kid in the 80s & 90s. Great…read moreselection! Huge portions! Everything tastes great! I miss being able to dine in because the dining room is so cool! Again it's your old school Chinese restaurant decor with golden dragons, lanterns and carved stone landscapes. I do like that the food was hot. They packaged it tightly,…read morestapled the food containers and added a bag to maintain the hot food hot. I also like their sweet and sour sauce and the cream cheese Rangoon. Spring rolls are tasty too. What did not like was: Disappointed on the quality of their orange pealed chicken and vegetable fried rice. The chicken was long thick and very little chicken most of it was the fried breading surrounding the chicken. Also most of the chicken was over fried inside so that was also disappointed. The vegetable fried rice had minimal signs of egg almost none at all. The only thing I liked was the cream cheese wantons, they are labeled as crab Rangoon but I saw no crab in it bc they were highly over filled with cream cheese which I had to remove half of it bc it was saturated. I can honestly say it would be quite a while before I decide to give it bother try. It's been a full year since the last time we order from here and it was only because I forgot what it was like.
