I do not understand some of these reviews. One speaks of a waitress and I have been coming there over 13yrs and they have NEVER had a waitress only their 2 kids doing schoolwork. Next it mentions a YOUNG man on register and a person's card being compromised 2x for video games that's another questionable review there's ONLY the husband n wife there ! Doing g it all by self the last 5 yrs because kids in college and yrs when kids there the would pitch in every once in a while but last 5yrs just wife n hubby. They BOTH are kind n cordial very helpful, good prices n food portions you can eat on a couple of days. I have NEVER had bad food n we go there often n have had mostly everything on menu. Plus they do not have a hibachi girl that has grease dripping down you have them confused with nasty rude horrible food Tenko Japan. Since new owners a few yrs ago food horrible and sushi gross. Don't eat there unless you want to die. Also at Chinese restaurant the egg drop soup is always full n steaming hot. She even fries me homemade noodles for it so amazing. Barbara read more

My experience at Golden China has been the same since I moved to Chesapeake in 2017. Typical visit you walk in, order, and you get your yummy Chinese dinner in 15 minutes or less, tops! Customer service is okay. The food is good, always hot, and steaming. They've been more frugal than I remember these past 2 visits I've been on with condiments, no more cookies, napkins, or utensils. So please make sure to ask for all that you need. They will give it to you , just ask ! Nothing really sticks out about this business, but it is good and convenient sometimes for me, so I'll stop and get a good meal. read more

I haven't found a good Chinese place in the last 7.5 years. Granted I was in va beach landstown area and just moved to deep creek Chesapeake area. But the search is over (at least while I live here!) Ordered they Postmates since my son is sick and I was in route to the apartment. I got the lunch sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice, and crab Rangoon. So so delicious! I haven't had this good if crab Rangoon in a while. Last place only have cream cheese ones. And the one before that, the crab was way too fishy and probably old. These ones a perfect!!! My stomach has been pretty sensitive since having kids and my gallbladder removed. So hopefully the food sits well. But I can't rave enough about how delicious this food is!!! read more

Food is really good every single time but the reason it gets 3 stars is due to the amount of time you're waiting on your food to be done. It has been NUMEROUS times that I've called ahead and wait about 30 minutes to get there JUST to wait another 45 minutes for it to even be done once I arrive! It's getting ridiculous now. If you buy the family platter you get four small (quarter size) orders which equals to 2 large (pint) orders for $25 plus tax plus 3.95% charge (for credit card use). Whatever you do, don't buy the family platter and order 4 same orders. You'll only receive 2 large meals which is a lot cheaper to buy directly instead of buying the family platter. The food is good here but the amount of food I was expecting was a lot more and that's why they dropped 3 stars. When I got home I noticed how little the amount of food I got and decided to call and ask if they could do something about it since I live 2 blocks away. They said no. If you know what you are selling as a owner or company representative I would have told you you are better off ordering the two large meals. They didn't do that and happily took my $30. We love this restaurant. The food is always amazing. And they are our go to for comfort food.

I have been eating here for more than a decade. Superior taste compared to any other take out place around with a similar menu.

Pretty solid --fast--hot--take out Chinese. Cooked fresh and super hot every time we have ordered from them. The vegetable pancit is surprisingly awesome and better than a local PI place. You pay for what you get so I think some people leaving reviews are not taking that into consideration. The food is good! read more

Awful service. And awful food. Avoid as much as possible!!! Food often shows up cold and overly greasy. Not to mention that the delivery driver is incredible rude (on several occasions) With so many choices for delivery in our area I would 100% never eat here again. read more

I've lived in the area for 12 years and we've been ordering from them for probably 10 of them. My favorite thing about this place is that there are 3 other Chinese places in a ten mile radius of us and they're the only ones that deliver. The food is always hot and always arrives quicker than the time they give me. Their lunch specials are cheap and plenty. The only thing I wish they would add to the menu is more tofu options. But beggars can't be choosers. *On a whim I asked them if they could make general tso tofu and they were happy to oblige. I love this place! read more

The staff at Golden China were not friendly or helpful at all. This made me not want to even try the food but I had hungry people at home. I ordered a tray (very large amount) if chicken fried rice. I noticed at least one other person mentioned that the rice wasn't really fried and that's true. Ours was more like white rice with a little soy sauce for color. That's it. The chicken and noodle soup was some very yellow broth with bits of chicken and thick fettuccini type noodles. I'm still giving them three stars because they were quick, the food although not the best was not the worst and the egg rolls were gigantic!! Those really saved the day. They were so good. read more

The only reason I gave them two stars was because my husband enjoyed his food but my shrimp fried rice on the other hand was horrible. The rice was almost white, their was nothing fried about it. Some of my shrimp were not clean. I had to ask for napkins and wasn't given any sauces. I won't be going back. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. read more

Our favorite Chinese takeout! We order often! Best we've found in a long time and even has tofu substitute for my vegan wife. When I was on a low carb diet I could even order from the steamed meat and veggies diet entrees. Their bourbon chicken, orange chicken and General Tso of course is awesome! read more

Called for delivery and they told me they couldn't deliver cause it would take a "very long time".. I literally live less than a mile from their location. I am calling for delivery so I don't have to load all my kids up while my military spouse isn't home and go pick up food.. Ugh. Guess it's pizza again tonight. I've been eating at Golden China for about four years now. I noticed there's a lot of reviews that say the delivery is bad but I personally I've always picked up and the food has always come out really really good. I would definitely recommend. I think the only complaint I have is depending on Who is answering the phone calls, one of the people you can hardly understand. Other than that they are always very kind to me and my family when we go there. Their general tso's, orange chicken and bourbon chicken, and beef & broccoli are amazing! and I highly recommend their chicken teriyaki sticks. My son loves them. This was our first time to have food from this restaurant. Since we are in the COVID-19 restrictions, they only do pickup. (The area seems too small to accommodate eat-in patrons.) The clerk could not hear me through the plexiglass, so I had to point to her on the menu what I wanted. We wanted pork; they were out of pork. A grocery store is in the same shopping center, about a minute's walk, so why can't they purchase some pork there? Anyway, since she said they had pork eggrolls, I assumed there would contain it. The eggrolls only contained cabbage! No carrot, no pork. They were cooked to perfection, however. The sweet and sour chicken came with just chicken and a styrofoam container of sweet and sour sauce! No vegetables. The lo mein did contain pork, however, but only noodles with very little shrimp and chicken. No vegetables. The fried rice had only rice; no egg or vegetable. We are very disappointed in this dining "experience" and will not be a returning customer. read more
