Pros: Sales was fairly knowledgeable, financing was organized when taking delivery of the car Cons: Lack of follow-up and integrity of work. We purchased a CPO vehicle. In the 7 page document listing what was tested in the vehicle, all boxes were checked. When I test drove and after we decided to purchase, we told the dealership we needed the shaking fixed. It shook at highway speeds. After taking delivery Saturday and getting on the highway, it shook. Well service is closed and sales would be closing shortly. Drove 64 miles home. Also found out our spare key was not programmed to the vehicle. I called to follow-up and they set up an appointment. I brought it in, got a loaner. 2 days later, I left work early and drove back to Hartford. I picked it up, sat in rush hour traffic, then realized the car was still shaking when I got it up to speed. I called them, they had me bring it back. I got another loaner. 64 miles back home I went. They kept it through the weekend, only following up when I called. I got the vehicle back 9 days after I originally brought it in. Although better, the vehicle still shook. I was so frustrated with the experience I called Mini corporate directly, as not only did their certification say there were "no rattles or shaking" after a 20 minute test drive, I told them prior to delivery, I got it back "fixed" and yet it still had the problem. 3 opportunities missed. When Mini called to follow-up, they were "surprised" that Sam, the manager, had not followed up because they told me he said he did. Wouldn't you know, Sam called me within 24 hours. And how rude he was. When I returned his call, he said "We fixed the shaking and you have a spare key that works with your vehicle. So what's the problem?" I responded with "well, let's review." I explained the missed opportunities that happened. Then I very bluntly asked, "my question for you is what is the follow-up with your department? I have documents saying this vehicle was checked and it was given to me on more than one occasion as 'fixed' when it clearly was not." Silence. Then a "well I don't have an answer for that." I cut it off and said "well, then we have no reason to be speaking. I'm looking for answers you clearly don't have. It is sad you are not researching issues before you call an upset customer to understand the breakdown. It says a lot about you and your dealership. I wish you the best." With a CPO, I was not expecting perfection. But the vehicle should not shake its way down the highway at normal highway speeds. Furthermore, do not return a vehicle to an owner "fixed" without a test drive. I work in retail. I get things happen. I understand there can be hiccups. However, there is a difference between a "hiccup" and a lack of follow-up or regard. I felt as though I was a burden when, regardless of how the shaking is resolved, it is up to them to make it happen. Never again. I bought a CPO VW 3 years ago and it was a flawless process. I bought a Mini from them in 2016. Their service department is the worst! Once your warranty expires, expect inaccurate diagnoses on your vehicle and over priced estimates. I had an issue with my horn and they quoted me over $1000 on a repair that was in fact a $125 job once I took the vehicle to my personal mechanic. Throughout the process their service reps were rude and demonstrated poor knowledge of the mechanics of my car. I will not work with them again. read more

I have purchased 2 MINI Coopers over 9 years from New Country. Very happy with both cars and the service provided. I have always been able to get a service appointment within a day and all maintenance and repairs are completed as quickly as promised. If parts are not available I have been provided with a loaner car, which is fun since you get to experience another type of MINI! Nice folks, waiting area is clean and pleasant, great music and excellent wifi so you can work while you wait for your car. read more

I had high expectations on their service when I leased my car in 2016. I loved Mini Cooper cars and just had very high expectation of customer service but alas I was disappointed and it became worse. Everything is so money oriented. Customer service is no more customer oriented. It's all about money. There are so many disappointments but I will just mention a few here: 1. I don't know much of cars so when I went to New country mini, my requirement was simple, I wanted a new Mini Cooper but not the hardtop one. I liked look of Clubman. The clubman they showed me was a 2016 model which had about 8k miles in it coz it was owned by someone in the Mini, don't remember the details. It had all features and back camera etc etc. What pissed me off was it had 2 sets of tires, so every summer and every winter I have to change tires. Now why would mini produce such cars so that the dealers can make money in charging you for changing tire. They should have given that service for free. It's your design. 2. Every time there is a bubble formed in $400 worth Bridgestone tire.. are you kidding me!!!! 3. Every time they change the tire, there is an alignment issue. So you knowingly do a bad job so that I have to pay you for alignment. Again that should be included. 4. They have no free services. My sister bough Lexus and she gets free car washes every time she takes to the dealership. 5. Today at the service desk when o went to pick up the car, Ryan was in a call. No acknowledgment of please give me few minutes. Nothing. I am standing there like a fool and he is busy talking on phone. Have some decency and some sense of customer service. 6. There are white marks all over the tire, I came and asked the two service staff sitting there and they said they had no idea!!!! Then get up and go and check and show some interest. 7. They have fucked up toll bills so many times. I have lost count of how much extra I have paid. They don't even bother to correct that. Horrible customer service. read more

In 2009 I designed my Mini Clubman online and ordered it from New Country. I was told a Clubman matching my configuration was on the boat missing only the requested fog lights. I asked if the dealership could install auxiliary driving lights and they did. When the car was ready, it looked great, ran delightfully, & I was a happy man for nine years--happy driving & delighted with the efficient service. I sold it for far too little after a serious illness, bought a new Subaru and never liked it so, after a year, bought a 2010 Mini Clubman S with 79000 miles in a private sale. Last night I switched the plates and the battery was dead so today, it's going to New Country to get it sorted out. I wanted the original format of the Clubman--three doors plus the barn door rear--rather than the new four-door which is quite a bit larger. read more

I recently purchased a Mini, I had the worst experience. I signed all the paperwork with the promise to have my car delivered next day. They didn't, and when I asked, I realized that they don't trust my down payment method "check". It was so weired, as they simply could have asked me to pay cash, or they can say we don't accept checks. It was really unprofessional. Absolutely the worst!!! Unfortunately I have no choice but to go there since they are only 1 of 2 in the state and I live much closer to this location. Let me just summarize the worst five years of dealing with New Country. In that short period of time and well under 80,000 miles I've literally been to the shop 15 times for a mess of problems. As I understand that many visits are caused by the actual quality of the car the majority of visits were caused by the mechanics inability and incompetence to fix the problems. Over the 5 years I have been there for 2 recalls, 1 recall completed incorrectly and I had to have it done again, 2 bulletins, 2 major issues caused by the "mechanics" in their failed attempt to remedy the problem, including one which could have literally killed me, 2 misdiagnosis...even tho I specifically questioned and suggested the real problem, 2 times leaving without a solution, and now 4 weeks of my car not starting for yet another 1 more bulletin. THEY ARE THE WORST!!! Don't fall for the "smiling nice services guys" who will look you straight in the face, as they did to me so many times before, and blatantly lie! They lied about the quality of service, about remeding the problems, about the cost of labor, about their efforts of diagnosis, about everything. After all of the headaches induced by arguing with the service guy Chris I made the best decision ever and only bring my mini to a local less schisty mechanic. Someone from the AG office should really investigate this shop, because they are risking lives and scaming the public. read more

I bought a MINI from them and had the WORST experience! I was misled by the salesperson and it seems like the service team is completely incompetent! They gave me a warranty of 60 days or 3,000 miles. The car broke down after less than 3,500 miles. I had an emergency tow and had to repair the serpentine belt, the spark plug and coils, and the water pump among other things. Those repairs cost me about 15-20% of the initial purchase price of the car. A lot of things are upsetting, but my Top 3 would be: - They delivered the car much later than expected and refused to extend the warranty to account for those days I did not have the car. - When I test-drived the car, it was making noise and I was told I didn't know MINIs. After the repairs my MINI is perfectly silent. - When I received the car, the levels were all so low, my oil light even turned on! The salesperson told me the levels had been topped off at the dealership and sent me the service report on which it was said the levels were topped off. So are they purposefully lying on their service reports or do they have a team that is utterly incompetent? When I contacted the salesperson after my car broke down, I never had any response. Don't do the same mistake as me, stay away from this dealership if you can! read more

Had a great experience at New Country mini, the salesmen were knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions. No high pressure selling involved. Since this was a car I wanted to purchase I drove different minis to have the full effect and there never any problems getting to test drive the style I wanted. Ordering my special "Mini Me" was easy and less stressful that getting a car from another dealership in some part of USA. Would return for to buy from this dealership again when the times come, but right now I am having a Great experience with my new baby. read more

Honestly, I had a great experience with the service guy, Ryan, who checked me in. Very good guy, and was easy to deal with and understand when he explained what the service techs would be doing. Where I had an issue, however, is that the special "Mini wipers" the I ordered and had them installed were installed backwards. Also, when I brought the car in there was no warning lights on my dash, but after I left an "exterior light out" warning light was on. Ryan had mentioned that they thought they saw a light out, but I guess I expected them to fix that, or at least offer to, which I would have done since the cost would have been minimal. When I called to speak to the service manager about these issues she was pretty nonchalant about things, and didn't even respond at all about her trained service guys installing my wiper blades incorrectly, and then said that I didn't specifically ask them to fix the light, so they didn't. Wow, I definitely expected better at a Mini dealership, esp now that they're in the BMW family, and owners have a certain level of expectation of service. Pretty disappointing. read more

To whom it may concern, I am most dissatisfied with a trend of excessive fees when I visit New Country Mini in Hartford CT. The majority of my visits are for simple oil changes. More times than not, there are excessive diagnostic fees. At my last visit to have my filter changed, I inadvertently heard an employee tell the customer prior to me that he had a "mouse that chewed away wires." Imagine my surprise when one hour later the service coordinator told me that my problem was also that I had a mouse living in my fan compartment. He could remove the mouse and clean the fan for a total of $416.86 including the $150 diagnostic fee to find the dead mouse. An incentive to write larger labor quotes seems to be the norm with New Country Mini. read more

I have had a Mini Cooper since 2013 and have loved every second of it! Very low maintenance and extremely dependable. I am not a spring chicken so I cannot count the number of cars that I have had in my lifetime, but I do know this is the best one (and most fun) that I have ever had. I recently had a tree limb fall on my car, we were new to the area and I followed the direction of my insurance company for the repair. Big mistake. During the repair, a screw pierced my electrical system and several odd things happened. I thought it was all coincidental and took it to New Country Mini. They knew the exact problem within the hour and from that point on advocated for me to my insurance company and the body shop my car had been in. They had me in a rental car and I was out the door in 2 hours. The process was long (3 weeks) and tedious with a lot of finger pointing but the guys at New Country Mini were patient and steadfast. Awful repair service. Did not honor the extended warranty I purchased for over 2K. Misleading information at the diagnostic stage (160$) and not even nice to talk to. I paid over 500$ for service that should have been covered but it was easier for them to get it from me than to bill the warranty. And I had to play because I needed the car! Would not consider buying there because they made it very uncomfortable. Even when the car was ready, they made me sit another 20 minutes while Tiffany ooked at it out her window, She wasn't helping anyone else, wasn't on the phone. Just exercising her attitude and it was horrible. Next time I will try Fairfield, yes it's farther but I hope they are nicer to deal with. Stay away read more

By far, the WORST customer service I ever experienced. Chris Barbersek, a "Service Advisor" seriously needs to revisit hospitality courses or find a new job. After more than 2 hours of waiting (with an appointment) to get a recall repair done and 2 quarts of oil replenished, I was chewed out by Chris for asking about when things were going to be wrapped up. Chris, dumbfounded by this question, demanded, "What is this?!?" to which I could only respond, "poor customer service" . He snidely snapped back that he'd be done in 5 minutes (the first timing estimate I received since arriving more than 2 hours earlier) and that my car was being "washed". Ten minutes after this exchange, I saw my car being parked out front. Chris obsequiously waited an additional 10 minutes to tell me that it was "ready" --- and, no surprise here: it was not washed. The brazenness and self-righteousness of their unprofessionalism was absolutely deplorable and unprecedented in my experience. I will definitely be heading elsewhere next time my car requires dealership service. read more
