Hostess called the wrong 'Sarah' after waiting 50 minutes for a table, which is fine, mistakes happen, except she forgot to put us back on the waitlist which meant we had to wait even longer for a table. When we finally got seated for breakfast, we were told the kitchen was a little backed up so it would take a little longer than normal for food - we waited over an hour for our food to come, and no one came to provide us with an update until we asked for it. We stopped in for brunch around 10:00 on a Friday morning and didn't leave until almost 1:15 after waiting to be seated then waiting for our food. I will add, the Denver omelet (vegetarian with fried tofu instead of ham) was really good! We also loved the strawberry scones and chocolate chip cookies. Like I said - I would come back to grab some pastries and a coffee, but probably would not recommend this place to eat.

We got lucky and pulled into the last open spot. There were a good amount of people inside but we were seated right away. They have a little shop area in the front that was super cute too. Their menu is pretty large but in the best way. There's literally something for everyone from spring rolls to pho to banh mi. My friend and I each got our own DIY spring roll set and I got a cup of beef pho broth with an order of rice noodles to make a mini bowl of pho for myself on the side. The spring roll set comes with 4 sheets of rice paper, fresh veggies (lettuce, basil, cucumber, pickled carrots), rice noodles, your choice of protein (we chose pork sausage), and dipping sauce. The pho broth was flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The spring rolls came out amazing and were so filling. My only suggestion would be to have the carrots shredded instead of sliced to get a more even distribution within the spring rolls. But overall it was a fantastic meal. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

The welcome was very friendly when we arrived at the counter, and they kept the queue moving at a steady pace, so we hardly had any wait. You order at the counter, get a number, find a table, and they deliver your order to you. There are a decent number of tables inside (don't panic, check the back room for seats, too!), as well as several outside on the wraparound porch. The whole converted country house is adorable, inside and out! South Store Cafe radiates a rustic-chic, inviting atmosphere. They have a fairly comprehensive breakfast-and-lunch menu, but they also have two enclosed pastry cases chock-full of sweet and savory goodies sure to please any palate. I thought I knew what I wanted until I saw that case! In the end, I got the sausage and mushroom strata with a homemade cardamom syrup latte, all of which was delicious! It's a fabulous gem tucked in the country, and I can't wait to return.

Problem is the boards are behind the order counter so you can't see them until you go to order. The order takers are friendly and patient. You get an order number and find a place to sit- either inside (very "cozy") or outside. We chose outside as there was less people. I had the chicken salad and he had the ham and Swiss. Both had too much greens for our taste. We split a Bloody Mary that was very good but came with a dried out artichoke heart. Would probably come back if in the area again but would also split the sandwich as we both ended up taking 1/2 of ours home.

I was like, "Wow!" It really shows that the owner is doing a great job taking care of and compensating their employees, while also helping customers save a little money. So, it's a shame I waited this long to try Cafe Rowan. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that they seat people as they arrive, give them menus, and then customers order at the counter. A small menu helps food arrive quickly, and both tables and parking spaces will turn over faster than other brunch places. Their namesake sandwich is a classic, with the fantastic addition of roasted blueberry jam. My wife was thrilled with Rowan's bowl option - which appeared to have a little of everything. Once you get inside, Cafe Rowan seems bigger than it does from driving past, and high ceilings make it bright and airy. All in all, things moved quickly, the food was terrific, and I'm more of a brunch fan than I ever was before.

There was ample seating to suit every mood (table and chairs, comfy chairs, and comfy sofas with plenty of outlets and side tables). There's a fun and fresh local artist goods shop tucked in the front corner. It's a perfect place to find a gift for yourself or others. The menu is a nerdy dream come true. When we visited a couple of weeks ago in May, the themed drinks were Lord of the Rings and Mario. I had the Gondor, which, if I recall, may have had hazelnut and cinnamon. I DO recall that it was delish. I forgot what drink my daughter ordered, but she enjoyed it as well. I look forward to coming back and trying their London Fog, which is one of my favorite drinks and seems to have significant praise from other reviewers. We didn't get an opportunity to try the food, but look forward to in the future. One refreshing surprise is that this is a no-tip establishment. I don't recall what I paid for the drinks, but I appreciate places that charge what they need to make their business work and to (hopefully) pay their employees a living wage. Brickhaus is rooted in community and belonging, and I am here for it!
