If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. I've always enjoyed this place but enjoy it even more now since becoming a parent Everytime I have come here since becoming a parent, the staff is always so welcoming and accommodating to my toddler. My favorites are the chef's omelette and croissant w raspberry jam! My picky toddler also ranks these items high on the list of things she will gladly eat without thinking twice. My boyfriend and I came here at 3 pm and it was so empty! They let us seat wherever we wanted. Obviously we chose the booth. The food here is phenomenal (but maybe this is because I'm discovering brunch as a whole) Nonetheless, still amazing. We got a Monte Cristo and the savory crepes off the specials menu. The salad served with the Monte Cristo is to die for. Love love love the house basalmic. Our server Sohail was very kind and attentive. La Provence has been a long time family favorite, which is why when my mom's birthday rolled around, we knew exactly where to get brunch and celebrate! My husband and I came here the morning of Thanksgiving for brunch and had the perfect breakfast! The portions were the perfect size to leave very full but not stuffed for the rest of the day. We visited here right before heading to the Nike store and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the tuna melt was! I dunno why but whenever I see a tuna melt on the menu, I gotta order it. I walked by their dessert case, but I opted to go the savory route instead. The bread was toasted perfectly and the tuna wasn't too fishy. They give a generous amount of fries as well. I got a side of their aioli but I didn't find it to be anything special. Fries on their own were solid. For under $20 for a sit down restaurant, I felt like it was a good deal. Luckily our friends got here before we did because there were a ton of people waiting on Saturday brunch. But once we ordered everything came out pretty quickly and piping hot. The vibe and atmosphere when you first arrive is really nice but we came in at the tail end of lunch hour and the only seats available were at the bar.I had the chicken Mediterranean salad which was very tasty with a yummy dressing. The Montecristo sandwich wasn't the best. The ham slices were pretty skimpy. As for the seating, we sat at the bar and usually that's OK but in this case we were seated in front of the dirty dish mat station. So as we are eating, we were constantly seeing dirty dishes being processed into a dish tub in front of us. Not the most pleasant experience. This was my first visit to this particular location and I was really looking forward to a nice lunch with my friend as we had not had an opportunity to really connect in quite some time. I've had a string of really good experiences at the location in Progress Ridge and I expected the same type of 5-star care that I had always gotten there. Servers are always friendly and the French Toast never disappointed. Sad to say, the 5-star anticipation was dashed to a 1-star just after stepping in the door. We entered and the hostess did not greet us warmly, but rather gave us a quick up-and-down look and a little snarl......I was ready to walk out with that. After a 'can I help you?', I said "two for lunch, please".....sigh....they grab two menus and walk out into the dining room. I guess that means we should follow and head to a table. She plops the menus down on the table and quickly scurries away. I thought it was just me for a moment until my friend said "What a B*$ch". Not a good first impression at all! We were discussion getting up and leaving, but our server turned to us after he had finished the order at the nearby table and said "Good Afternoon.......I'll be right back with you". He and another server who was engaged with us certainly turned the experience around. The food did not disappoint and the servers were wonderful, sadly the experience with the hostess lingered and I will not be going to this location again. I have to say that their specials for delivery (ala Ubereats) are pretty great when they happen. I got a buy one get one free and whoa, crazy amount of food for $20! A lot of places do buy one get one of the same item. I bought a croissant breakfast sandwiche - it is beyond next level compared to what other places give you with one of their incredible croissants, stunning bacon, a farm fresh egg, fresh slices of avocado, incredible tomato and crisp very fresh lettuce. I chose a fruit side which was actual fresh slices of cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple and banana! My free item was scrambled eggs, hash browns, a croissant (with some of their delicious raspberry jam) and chicken sausage. Ok, I do not recommend that chicken sausage... get anything but that. Our pup sat with us outside while we enjoyed Spanish Coffee, a beautiful mimosa, avocado burrata toast, French onion soup and my husband had the ham and eggs (with wonderful potatoes). It was cool checking out the new location! I just went and grabbed some desserts. I got one of the big chocolate croissants (chocolatine). Thought it was very nice and had lots of layers I prefer other croissant flavors. It was very big and the chocolate inside was the least delicious part. It was a bit sour which was weird because it should be semi sweet but the flavor was a bit off. I also got a Versailles mini cake. Just as before, it was really good. I loved the different layers which had amazing chocolate and coffee flavors. I look forward to eating their food as I liked it in the past, I'm just waiting for the hype to die down a bit and maybe wait till it's warmer because there's a lot of lovely outdoor seating, too! read more

We usually go to La Provence in Lake Oswego, however we are booked into an Airbnb in Beaverton. There's a lot of great restaurants here, but we wanted brunch. It was already 1:15 pm and there was a line at the door of groups waiting to be seated. Fortunately we only had to wait a few minutes. Our waiter was charming. He totally agreed that the house made raspberry jam is a Must Have! The ambiance here is quite different from the Lake Oswego location. It's French white with high back booths along both walls of windows. The Monte Cristo is one of our favs. The soup of the day was Bean and Bacon with cream. It was devastatingly exquisite! I highly recommend checking out the Soup of the Day. We also had the Mushroom ‍ & Frommage Omelette topped with herb goat cheese, again with another favorite side of roasted potatoes and roasted butternut squash. I wish I could breakdown each dish that we tried but overall there's nothing to complain about, except one of the poached eggs was over cooked and the other was perfect. Not sure what happened there! For happy hour, it was basically tapas style and portions are meant for one person unless you're like me with a smaller appetite then maybe each item can be shared between two people. Had a great Brunch today catching up with a friend at the fairly new La Provence. It was our first time visiting this location. Parking is a bit of a challenge. The restaurant is tucked way back in the corner and has a cute little outdoor dining area. It was too warm to sit outside today so we opted for a booth inside. The decor is very aesthetically pleasing and very clean looking. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I ordered my usual Ultimate polenta but they have changed it up with a twist now and I still enjoyed it as much as before. The are now polenta cakes. My friend ordered the quinoa curry salmon salad and she said it was delish as well. Of course I had to take my croissant with jam home because I didn't even put a dent in my food! Came here for lunch while visiting Oregon and the BLT was so delicious! It tasted so fresh. The soup ( I cant remember what is was) was also very delicious. It's a cute spot for brunch! I love that they have fresh squeezed juices and the lattes are delicious. But if you can only get one thing please get a croissant with the raspberry jam! From my handful of experiences, the food isn't amazing, but it's good. I didn't read the menu very well because you usually know what to expect when you order a Benedict, so I was surprised when it came on a croissant--but that's on me for not reading closely. I was visiting Portland from The Bay Area and my cousin who lives in Beaverton suggested La Provence for brunch. As I walked in it was easy to tell that it's a very, very popular place and I was looking forward to it. There was about a 20-minute wait. But after we left the waiting area and sat down in the main room I realized it was not going to be quite the pleasant experience I was hoping -- the acoustics in the room are terrible. With the place packed, it was so loud and so difficult to have a conversation at the table. Also, the A/C from above was blowing directly on our table and it was freezing, although they did eventually turn it off. Food-wise, I ordered the basic Day Breaker, with two eggs, apple sausage, toast and, I was pleasantly surprised, the server allowed me to substitute French Onion Soup instead of one of the usual sides (hash browns, potatoes, squash or fresh fruit), which made me very happy. But that's where it ended. The French Onion Soup, which was WAY too salty! Actually, the melted cheese on top was perfect, it was the actual soup itself that was so oversalted I couldn't finish it. My cousin's squash soup, she said, was way overspiced. The eggs I wanted soft scrambled -- they were sent hard scrambled. The apple sausage I asked to be cooked well done ... didn't happen, she went to get another order of them, took forever and, by that time, we were all finished. One thing I really liked was the jam they served with the toast. That was really good, as was the Chai Latte, and, as I had mentioned, the melted cheese, but was really unhappy otherwise and went and got some other food elsewhere afterwards. Were I still in Portland for any length of time I'd give it another chance, but I'd probably go on a weekday when it was less busy, and order items instead of the Day Breaker. Two people at my table ordered the two different french toasts and liked them. Oh, one other thing I have to mention that I did like: our server. Unfortunately, I don't know her name, but she was a tall person with, if memory serves, straight long hair and was dressed so nicely I thought she was the manager or a host, and maybe she was, but it seemed like she was just a server like all the others, and she was VERY cool and made the experience more pleasant for me than it might have been otherwise. read more

went for sunday brunch, walist eta was 30-35 minutes, ended up less than that, service was super quick and servers were nice and accomodating when we asked for extra sauce and missing avocados. they had an outdoor spaced with fire tower lamp things, indoor seating, and a second floor indoor. we were seated inside and throughout the whole brunch it was quite loud noisy inside. i ordered the west coast benedict with hashbrown. i had tried this at another la provence location before and wasn't too impressed. i wanted to try it again because reading it on the menu again made it seemed appetizing. as someone who likes a lot of flavor, this dish didnt deliver. everything was plain to my palate and there was zero texture, it was all mush. the more i eat it, it tastes like just a blob of flavor. i dont dislike this place enough to not go again, but i would probably only go if my friends insisted on eating here. read more

My husband and I were so excited to visit this location for the first time this morning. We usually frequent the Progress Ridge or Lake Oswego locations. We arrived about 7:30am and waited to be greeted and seated for about 5 minutes. There were two, two-top tables seated. We each ordered a mimosa flight and coffee. I ordered the NW Salmon Hash and my husband ordered the Baked Eggs a la Francaise. As usual, the food, was absolutely delightful! The service however, was very disappointing for La Provence. The one time our server checked on us, I let her know that the peach mimosa was great. The pineapple, strawberry and raspberry, tasted like the puree's were just turning bad. The pineapple was a tad bitter and the other's had a strange acrid taste. My husband had the same flight as myself just swap the pineapple for an orange flavor. He also told our server that his tasted off too, except for the peach. She said, "oh ok," took the undrunk flights (minus the peach because those were yummy) and disappeared. About 10 minutes later, I'm assuming it was the manager, came to our table and very unanimated asked about the flights. We explained again and she said "sorry about that. Do you guys need boxes." We said yes. She speedily returned with boxes and had her Point Of Sale device in her hand. I told her we'd like to order pastries to go. She took our order, handed my husband the pos device and walked away. He paid, tipped, we boxed up the rest of our meal and waited. The manager lady never returned so we stood up and walked to the front pastry counter. As we stood there, waiting for our pastries, that we thought were being boxed up, I saw the manager lady and gave her pos device back. She said, "let me get you a bag," and walked away. Never saw her again. Waited 10 minutes at the pastry counter. No acknowledgement from the barista/server. She finally turned around and said, "yes?" We told her we purchased 2 desserts and which ones. She pressed her pos device and it spit out a receipt. She got our desserts, no hand washing-after watching her wiping all the café machinery/counters down-no gloves, I watched her thumb brush the side of my Tiramisu. She had her hair all falling in her face and 4-6 multi-color star shaped pimple patches on. (I have the same patches at home. Super cute at home, but not so much for serving food) The lack of service, care, customer engagement or even attempt at cheerfulness was super disappointing!! (we'd totally understand if they were busy-only two other two-top tables were there our entire visit) We don't usually complain, but when you go to one of your favorite restaurants expecting it's usual fabulous service/food, spend the $120 for breakfast and receive subpar service all around...it stings...Hopefully it's just working the kinks out at a new location??? read more

We chose the Cedar Hills location to celebrate a birthday because it was in the middle for everyone to get to but will not be coming back to this location. To start, the live music was nice but extremely loud. When asked if it could be turned down, we were told no but they could seat us outside (it was almost 90°F). However, a little later in the evening, the music was noticeably softer so we didn't have to shout at each other. The food was a mix of good and barely mediocre. The petite salmon was the best out of what was ordered. The Ultimate Chopped sandwich and fries was decent. The worst dish, also the most expensive dish we ordered, was the steak frites. First off, it definitely was not a 10oz ribeye as the description said, it was paper thin, extremely tough and grissley (had a hard time cutting it with a steak knife), lacked flavor, and was prepared well-done instead of the medium-rare that was ordered. It was placed on top of the pomme frites instead of to the side and then soaked in the mustard sauce. The beignets and eclairs were the best part of the meal. The server was nice enough but didn't listen well or check in to see how everything was once the dishes were served. We ordered beignets and wanted them as a appetizer since they tend to sell out fast. The server brought eclairs instead of beignets. The server didn't apologize or take responsibility for the error but actually tried to blame us (nobody at the table had asked for or said anything about eclairs). I am not sure if they were short staffed or if it's their business model to only have one server and one runner for each level but that could be the issue with the service. I am a rewards member and when we went to pay, I asked about how to use the birthday reward that had been applied to my account. The server said I had to put my number in after the payment for the rewards. The payment was made but the reward wasn't taken off because apparently you have to use the card attached to the account. This means that you can't pay with cash or have anyone treat you to dinner if you have a reward you would like applied to the bill. I don't know if that is really the case since the server didn't seem to know much about the rewards program. read more

We were visiting our son who recommended this for lunch after recently trying the Vancouver location. We came on a Sunday afternoon and had the best experience! From the ambiance being incredibly beautiful, the staff being welcoming and the smell of the fresh baked delights, we can't wait to return! The menu was overwhelming at first, but our selections completely satisfied and impressed all 5 of us. The croissants were so moist on the inside and flaky on the outside. They definitely have perfected both the sweet and the savory flavors on everything from the Chorizo Hash, to the Caramelized Banana French Toast, to the West Coast Benedict!! This locations managers specifically Maya and John have no idea how to run the place. The mangers are rude to their workers but put a face on for the customers, they allow racist customers as well to insult the few ethnic workers they had left, as well as hide in the managers office or seen standing outside doing absolutely nothing, just smoking. Their incompetence is baffling since they're supposed to be "managers" The workers they had when I came in were holding it together for them thank god otherwise the restaurant would fail more than it already is. Honestly in the last couple of years all the La Provence's I've been to have been seriously declining. I get that its hard to keep up the quality when you grow so large and so popular but its becoming a disappointment that I've been avoiding. Does anyone else remember when they used to give you jam and a slice of cheese with the croissant? Or that they used to actually have good french onion soup? I'm usually not this harsh but I got french onion soup and it literally came in a basic soup bowl (not a french onion soup bowl like they used to) and the waiter almost spilled it on me (yes that's not the restaurant as a whole's fault but it was a close call). But what honestly prompted me to re-review one of their locations was that the french onion soup was borderline offensive it was so bad. For a FRENCH restaurant (who used to do fantastic french onion) it was thick, the onions weren't caramelized in the slightest and they were pretty chunky cut. I was floored. And also the service has really gone downhill at these places. This one was fine but the one in Progress Ridge for example has become nearly unbareable with super rude snooty staff. And when I was offered aioli for my fries they didn't mention that a condiment size amount of sauce for fries was a dollar up charge. Breaking the bank? No, but neither would it ruin La Provence to not nickel and dime folks. Onto the good: the fries were supreme and while almost everything else is lacking I will say that their breakfast and croissants (and especially the raspberry preserve) is still fantastic. And given the amount of people who flock here every weekend we were still able to be sat reasonably quickly. Lastly our server (not the one who brought the food) was nice, helpful, and overall a totally fine server. read more

The dinner special was salmon with a yellow curry and pear cactus sauce - I got both on the side given I didn't think both sauces would go with the corn risotto it was served on. I stood at an idiot next to the sign as I came in that said "host will seat you", while 3 different servers walked by and didn't even acknowledge me. I'm thinking that's because they weren't said host. Then one server came back, walked by me again, and went outside. Then she came to me and said, "hi friend, here for dinner?" So, I guess everyone is a host? I had a booth, which had to be wiped off, and it was the only clean (many empty dirty booths) one. My actual server walked by my table 3 times looking around, and then asked me for my order. I had a great view of the front door, and the same thing happened to 5 other parties, ignored, they stood there wondering what was going on, until somebody acknowledged them. There were only about 5 tables taken inside, and 4 tables outside - so "they were busy" doesn't cut it. I watched as my server talked at the bar with the bartender (who was also a server), back to all her tables, chatting away, with another server while people around me were commenting they needed more water, or another drink (I was thinking the same). Just really bad service. Surprisingly really. I think there's a focus on brunch given the stellar reviews, but if it weren't for the good food, I wouldn't consider going back given the service. I don't expect stellar service, but basic decency and acknowledgement would have gone a long way. I wasn't along in my feeling given how many people stood at that front door waiting confused. read more
