Fresh fish arriving for the weekend.

Has really gone downhill. Poor selection and rude staff. Not like it was under Carl's Dad. I won't be back

New Deal on Cambridge St is a popular fish market for the locals. I usually come to this place and the Fernandes market up the street for freshly caught fish, and for sushi New Deal is probably one of the best fish market in town. I well came to the market today and it was good to see that the business is coming back.

My boyfriend and I come here all the time to buy seafood, and we think it's the best place in the area for it. We always get their fresh fish, scallops, and mussels, and usually everything is great quality. Sometimes the mussels are bigger and sometimes they are smaller though. Everything is sashimi grade and prices are reasonable. It's unfortunately closed on Sundays though.

Amazing local joint where you can find a plenty of option for sushi grade fish. I bought flounder, salmon, and sea bass for diy sushi dinner at home. Definitely going back for more soon!

Decided to come here for the first time and was not disappointed. The filets speak for themselves, they tasted as good as they looked. You certainly won't find fish like this in a grocery store.

divine sashimi (bay scallops, salmon, tuna, yellowtail)

After getting my sashimi from here, I have no desire to get my sashimi or sushi from anywhere else in Boston/Cambridge, whether it be a fish market or restaurant. This place is that good - the prices are extremely fair for the quality that you receive, and the fish choices are always plentiful and based on the freshest options available at the fish market that morning, The staff here are true fishmongers and know what they're talking about when it comes to their fish. They'll tell you the freshest catches that they have that day, the best ways to cook any type of fish you select, and they'll even descale, skin, and fillet upon request. If you're going for a pure sashimi dinner, I highly recommend the salmon, tuna, bay scallops, and yellowtail.

Probably the freshest with the best selection on this side of the river. Well, maybe not just this side of the river. My friend from Southie drives into town on the reg to get his fish here. Beyond the selection of fish, you can find other things, like the best olive oils in town. You'll be met with an honest and researched review by the owner for everything in the store. When we were picking out our olive oil, the owner told us what Oleana uses, and he also had a bottle of Frantoia, which is Eric Ripert approved. If you're being fickle about what to pick up, the owner surveys everything from your preferences to what you will eat with it to where you are from. Our first time here (raw bay scallops for ceviche--super fresh and sweet) we saw regulars walk in and instantly get greeted by their first name. It's basically like what you'd imagine a cool ass fish shop in Cambridge to be like.

I love their fish and chips plate! It's always on point. Great service with a family charm. Small quaint ambiance.

Absolutely perfect oysters, great service, amazing mussels. Best place to buy in-shell oysters in the Boston area, no doubt.

They also have hard to get things like Ikura (salmon roe), the BEST oysters, and a lot of sushi grade fish options.

I also got crab cakes to go ( they were nice and frozen for flight) if you're anywhere near this location it's a must do I did ask if they had frozen lobster to go she said not this week so I assume that just comes and goes. very friendly staff and nice picnic tables to eat on outside if you want to stay there. there is no indoor seating per se there's some tables in a tent structure and they do have a porta potty on site I was able to walk over there so it's just a nice place to sit and eat and enjoy.

The lobsters and mussels were steamed to perfection, and I enjoyed them very much. The lady at the cash register was very sweet and patient, and did let us know it would take a while as the seafood were steamed fresh. It came in about 10-15 mins, so it wasn't that bad. I could imagine the wait being longer if it was crowded. The only thing I wished was a little better was the seating/dining areas. The outdoor was nice with the picnic benches but it was way too hot to be outside. The indoor section looked like a middle school cafeteria shack...which was whatever. Overall, food and service were great, ambiance could be a little better! Appreciate the sink to wash your hands after eating. Oh also, a pair of shell crakcers would be nice...had to use my hands to crack the pre-cracked shells but they were a little challenging.
