I feel sorry about the lady who does cut hair there who seems to be the manager but someone must stop this before is to late. Because everybody loves "Usha" who does a great job with every customer, I will suggest her to get rid of the "Black Dude" in the last station if she wants to keep that business going. This is not the first time the "Black dude" does his show. Most of the time is he and his woman yelling and talking BS using heavy language outside so all the customers can see and hear what is going on. What is funny do is that he comes back inside like nothing happened. I have witnessed his show more than ones and today I got enough. The "Dude" went today outside and left a chair next to a customer who was on the phone outside the front door and walked away with a customer he just did his hair...I thought...man this guy is a gent!!...few minutes later he came back eating Ice cream and like he was talking to a dog he told the customer to move from the chair. The customer got very upset and got mad due to the way this "Dude" talks but didn't react because his family was inside and was still on the phone. Also the customer told him, this is the way to treat your customers? to which the "Dude" replied: quote " You are not my customer" :) If I was the owner or manager of this stablishment located next to Toys "R" us, in the Shopping Center close to the Antioch Auto Plaza, I will fire that guy before loosing more customers. I could see the customer had a great relationship with the Hair Stylist lady but before leaving he said that they won't ever come back if that guy was still working there. Sad...they were 4 regular customers waiting to have their hair done. Solution: "Get rid of the Arrogant Black Dude in the last station" and save your business....he is just a bad publicity for you!!! read more

I'm shocked at the treatment we just received. I looked up kids hair cuts in Pittsburg and got this place. We walk in and ask for my son 3 to get his hair cut. The woman looked my son up and down and went to the back to ask another woman to do it. It was obvious they neither of them wanted to cut a child's hair. She came back and told me they were closed. This has been my go to place for haircuts and eyebrow threading for about 4 years now. I had two friends recommend Osha to me so she's been the main individual cutting my hair. She's very friendly, she remembers her regulars and is a pleasure to talk to. There are a few ladies who thread eyebrows and they all seem to do a great job. They tend to go for the slightly thinner look so if you want full but shaped eyebrows make sure to mention that to them so they don't make them thinner. I had my hair dyed once with Osha and it came out how I wanted it. I did have one not so great experience where someone other than Osha cut my hair and I hated how it was layered because it looked like I went for the mullet look. I was devastated and embarrassed to complain so I had it fixed elsewhere and ended up with chin length hair. I recently went elsewhere to try getting a "Devacut" for my curly hair and I paid 75 dollars for it but I didn't see a noticeable difference in the 20ish dollar haircuts I get from Osha. I still give them 5 stars because of their friendly attitudes and because Osha is such a great person. read more

Me and my sister were told this was a great place to go for cheap eyebrow threading and they were correct. $8 threading that took about 5 min. It was painful but so worth it. The women there were friendly and attentive to each guest that walked in. read more

I've been getting haircuts here from Usha for the past 6 years. She has trained and worked as a hairdresser in London, England, as well as in California. She is simply the the best, with all her years of varied experiance. The salon itself is quite modest, but the prices are among the lowest in the area. So its quite a deal; quality work at a modest setting, for low prices/affordability. They also do eyebrow threading, which is what the salon seems to be known for as well. If you can, try and get/ask for Usha, if not Jenny is great as well. read more

I have been there several times for cuts, and highlighting. Last time I was there to take care of highlight grow out, Hilary slapped a base coat color on that I was NOT looking for, without asking me, then was surprised when I said I wanted my highlighting to carry to the roots too. She then proceeded to overprocess my hair, and botched it so bad they had to put additional chemicals on my hair to tone down the bleach blonde highlighting. So...I called today to find out the name of the person who helped her fix my hair, who seemed much more Knowledgeable than Hilary. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND....the person who answered the phone hung up on me right in the middle of my question. Called back, and went to a voice mail that said, "messages full" and hung up. She has a European edge in her style (which is what I love) and uses techniques that I haven't seen in any salon. So according to their card, this place is called New Designer Cuts. I saw the advertisement in the window for threading. I had been growing out my brows for a while to get them threaded and I felt i was finally ready to get them shaped up. I went in there around 10:30am and they told me the threading lady wasn't there yet and i had to wait until 11am. I return at 11, and the lady doesn't show up until 11:17 as their is another lady there waiting to get her hair colored by the same person. She walks in and tells her co-worker, "why didn't you call me?" her coworker replied, "because you said you were getting here at 11" So turns out I'm first in line, doing my first threading ever and it says that it's $8, I figure I'm getting a good deal. She rushes to do my brows, very minimal pain, to hurry to her hair customer since they are paying her more. I see it and I was somewhat pleased with the result, not 100% satisfied, but I mention something small and she fixes it. I begin to think that it's because it's been so long that I've done my brows (I usually tweeze) that's why they look so different. I meet up with my mom and she tells me they are somewhat uneven, and that one side is a little bit thicker. By this time it's too late to return as I see that she is very busy with the other lady and the hair. I decide not to say anything. I do believe I might come back, but maybe triple check next time and definitely have another person with a different point of view their too. But better yet, I hope I can find a better, inexpensive alternative near me in Sacramento. read more

i needed to get my eyebrows & upper lip threaded BADLY & usually i hit up threads in dublin because they do such an amazing eyebrow/upper lip job for $15! yes, i said it, $15. since i was in such a rush to make it to the hercules, i couldnt drive all the way there & make it back in time. my 2nd & definitely LAST RESORT SPOT (& by last resort i mean i HAVE to drag my ass there in shame) is the lady at the somersville mall who charges $22 & does a pretty lame job compared to threads. anywho! because im so fed up with mall lady i decide ok lets try designer cuts. so i get in, its not real welcoming, whatever who cares. the 2 ladies look at me & i go "hi do you do threading?" *in my head: because its advertised in your window*...& they start laughing. ok. maybe they can hear my thoughts. after 10 minutes of trying to juggle me & another customer the one lady who does threading, & by one i literally mean ONLY ONE LADY DOES THREADING, takes me to the back & does her thing. shes gives me the mirror & tries again. i think i couldve done a better job plucking & might i add, im not one of those people that correct you at your job because it makes things uncomfortable for you & me, & it makes me seem rude; but honestly? if i think its THAT bad of a job i will kindly point a spot out that you missed. although it was truthfully a bad threading job, i paid the lady with a smile & threw her a tip just because she DID thread me up before she dyed some chicks hair WHO WAS there before me. nevertheless, i might just go back to mall lady when my eyebrows & upper lip are looking chewbacca & i absolutely cant make it to dublin. read more

After some unsatisfactory cuts elsewhere, I tried this place on a whim. The stylist was nice and gave me a decent cut. She said their salon had been dead until they hired a woman from San Francisco who knew threading. Threading brought customers back and they have good clientele. The location is convenient and prices are low compared to fancy salons. I would go back here. read more

I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for about a year now. I usually went to a place in San Jose call hollywood eyebrow (thats were I lived at the time). When I heard that designer cuts did eyebrow threading for 8$ I was skeptical at first, but my eyebrows look better than they ever have in the past! Another plus is that I think they use a cheaper thread (it broke two times on me), but it actually hurts less than the stronger thicker thread. Great price, and the eyebrow threader does a fantastic job. Also no need to make an appointment, I just walked in and it took less than ten minutes for the whole process. read more
