SAD old donuts... crudely made shapes and finishes and a tiny selection. Huge dining room is a plus. There's a TV so regulars sit around and watch. Good parking. My bear claw was gooey and undercooked.

Different types of donuts (cake donut, twist donut, apple fritter)

A quiet looking shopping center is the location for New Donuts, where you are warmly welcomed. There is a large collection of donuts, sandwiches and drinks to choose from. I decided to go with a variety of classic donuts, some cake donuts and an apple fritter. All of these were fresh and delayed at a good price too! I have already come back a few times, and will continue to do so when I get donuts!

    Shop does not look new.

Checked another donut shop off my to go list. New Donuts is the name of this local Mom & Pop donut shop in Whittier. I do not know how long the shop has been at this location, but they do not appear to be new. Well, at least the strip mall they are located in seems quite old or in need of some upgrading/remodeling. My usual flavors were sold out so I bought one of their Apple Fritters. Have to admit that their Apple Fritter was delicious. Had a good amount of apples in it unlike most donut shops. 5 stars for the Apple Fritter! They also happen to sell Lotto and Scratcher tickets. So, this is another reason to drop by. One ticket is all you need to have a chance to be the next millionaire!! Good Luck!!

(Took Out 07/06/20 MO @ 11:00am): Hey... this palace was new to me as well as their freshly-made donuts! Whenever I checked in on the rental property in Whittier, I attempted to search for a different apple fritter place, and this time I came across New Donuts... which was definitely new to me! A bit off-the-beaten-path from the city's uptown area, I enjoyed exploring this still fairly "new" city to me. Having said that, would I venture out to this more industrial out-of-the-way part of town again for fried delights!? PURCHASE THE "APPLE FRITTER IS TAKING OVER THE WORLD TOUR" CONTINUED... Apple Fritter ($1.50): Not that I was an apple fritter snob - eff it...yes I was! - but there was a certain way I liked mine. 1st, the price was cheaply comparable to the now going rate. 2nd, it was generally round, I liked the thickness and density, and closer to the size of my face (an ode to the great Goldstar Donuts in Van Nuys). 3rd, there was a mass amount of apple bits. 4th, the overall medium-dark brown color was very nice with multiple burnt ends (I loved it burnt), and the light-medium glaze made for a very good cracking effect. There were multiple smaller crunchy odd crannies, corners, and nooks which I liked to break off into small little morsels. 5th, it was fresh based on its temperature with minimal hints of oil pockets or gooey apple juices that leaked into your mouth and dripped down your throat. Overall, it had complete value - 5.0 STARS https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=oNIjID-jpdO2J6QyZQ_2eA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Mango Boba 16oz Drink ($3.99): Good consistency, nice mango flavor, and a ton of chewy boba https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=TPpB3Ig1cn85tRBWS_97Wg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Rainbow Sprinkles Chocolate Donut ($1.00): Oddly airy with a thick layer of chocolate https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=ofI4NDJz3es8WFLLtgKUuQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. SERVICE Greeted by a friendly older woman who was ready to take my order. She quickly gathered my donuts and made my drink in minutes. I was out in barely ten minutes; all was good! PARKING (FREE) Located within the Washington Shopping Center (basically a strip mall) with a small assortment of businesses, there was minimal parking (about three directly in front of each shop). Otherwise, there was plenty of free street parking along the main drag of Washington Blvd. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A fairly spacious donut shop with a couple indoor tables/chairs (none outside), colorful green and yellow accent-painted counters and walls, easily legible visual menus on the walls https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=HvlAPaZvzYrFQRA-B3JEAA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, multiple standard display cases https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=pIsUeq_MnJ6iCzGt45N9tw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, and an area for large container water refills. Plenty of natural lighting came through the front glass walls and door while soul-sucking electric fluorescent ceiling lights covered the rest. I didn't notice any TVs nor any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=k-HLdcS4_gStc_3JwDRmyA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL New Donuts was an amazing surprise and would consider going out of my way again. As with most donut shops now, they also sold coffee/drinks/tea, ice cream, Lotto, sandwiches, smoothies, and water as long as you provided a container. The service was great and always a pleasure to support a mom & pop small business. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $12.50 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Pt_R8kVO1qxeFBQXikYdKQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw). And, they accepted my credit card of choice ($0.50 fee)... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

I love their coffee here but especially the burritos! Best burritos!!…read more They do get a little busy and wait times can be long but worth the wait. Lovely staff as well :)

LFTD recently made an announcement that they are being evicted by their landlord and will close…read moredown this brick-and-mortar location by the end of this year (December 29th, 2025). A week before the announcement was made, I came here to try their famous blue tortilla breakfast burrito. [Parking]: There's a free public parking structure located one block away from the coffee shop (6738 Comstock Ave, Whittier, CA 90601). [Atmosphere]: Super crowded on Sunday & I was not able to find a place to sit. I ultimately ordered my breakfast burrito to-go. They also have a section of cafe that sell vintage clothing. [Menu]: For the signature breakfast burrito, they actually have 6 options - classic breakfast burritos (bacon - $16.50), Prime Steak (grass-fed prime steak $20.50), the Ultimate Burrito (grass-fed prime steak + avocado + bacon), Chilaquiles ($15.50), Chorizo ($16.00), and Vegan ($16.00). They also sell their cold brew cafe de olla in giant plastic bags that look like IV drip bags at the refrigerated section. [Ordering]: Customers can order at the cashier counter or order via kiosk (they use Toast). I reviewed their breakfast burrito options at 12 PM and they ran out of classic breakfast burrito. I ended up with prime steak breakfast burrito instead. Unfortunately I waited 45 minutes before they had my order ready and I could tell other customers were not too patient with their orders as they kept walking up to the pick-up counter & checked the ordering status. *** Prime Steak Breakfast Burrito (grass fed prime steak, scrambled egg, Monterey Jack cheese, crema, pico de gallo, tri-colored peppers, hash browns - $20.50): Unlike other breakfast burrito I have had at other places, this breakfast burrito had blue tortilla. The portion was a bit smaller than I expected, but chewy steak + crispy hash browns + roasted peppers + red salsa = one delicious and s-tier tasting breakfast burrito. *** While LFTD serves one of the best 5-star worthy breakfast burritos I have ever had in LA + Orange County, I have to take off a star due to extremely long wait time on food order. Please do yourself a favor and place an online order at least 30 minutes ahead of time if you want to try their breakfast burritos ( https://www.toasttab.com/local/order/lift-6701-greenleaf-ave ).

A Welcome Addition to West Whittier…read more I visit this Philz Coffee location whenever I'm back in town visiting family, and it has consistently been a great experience. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and they're especially helpful when I have questions about the menu. I don't actually purchase coffee that often. When I do, it's usually either Philz or a local mom-and-pop coffee shop/hole-in-the-wall. So whenever I walk into a Philz, there's usually something new for me to try or ask about. On my most recent visit, I also realized I had somehow created two Philz accounts. After placing my order, I asked the cashier if they could be merged, and they kindly provided me with the appropriate customer service email rather than leaving me to figure it out myself. I also asked about their cold brew. I ordered my usual Honey Haze, but I wanted to treat my grandmother to a coffee as well. She loves coffee and drinks it black -- usually a medium roast that she brews in a big batch at home. The cashier recommended the Mission Cold Brew, so I decided to give it a try for her. I delivered it to my grandmother later that day, knowing she would probably save it for the next morning since caffeine too late in the day can interfere with her sleep. I followed up with her the next day, and she loved it! That recommendation definitely earned some points with both of us. The Whittier location is consistently clean, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and I appreciate having Philz as another coffee option in West Whittier and The Groves Whittier. It's always nice when a new addition to the neighborhood actually feels like a welcome one.

I'm an unsweetened iced cold brew/Americano gal with a new obsession for espresso tonics so rarely find myself at a Philz. Allison was at the register and was so patient with my order since I was unfamiliar with their menu. I've literally only tried their mint mojito since that's what they're known for! When I received my order, I was kindly educated on different coffees Philz offers by Yamile! She was so knowledgeable about everything and my cold brew was delicious. I was having a weird day so the positive encounter helped alleviate some of my anxiety. Thank you ladies! Ambience: the store is spacious, clean, has AC blasting & also has tables with umbrellas outside. Parking: there's ample free parking available I'll be visiting again when I'm in the area! Hope to run into Allison & Yamile again!

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful because I always have a hard time building a custom bowl. There are just so many toppings to choose from! I ended up getting a mix of the Blue Coconut and Huckleberry bases. For the toppings, I went with a variety of different options based on what the employee recommended as the most popular. I loved everything, and it all tasted super fresh. At $11 for a small, I thought the portion was very reasonable, especially if you load up on toppings. It was so refreshing and so good. Fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying every time. Zack helped with my order and was incredibly friendly and attentive. I mentioned a peanut allergy and he thoughtfully grabbed all of the ingredients from the back fridge rather than using the ones at the counter to help avoid any possible cross-contamination. That extra care was really appreciated. Another nice touch was the complimentary coffee station near the cashier with oat milk and raw sugar available for guests. This location is inside Rodeo 72. The Blue Bowl space itself is on the small side, but there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating nearby to relax and enjoy your bowl.
