food is decent but they charge everybody (whether paying cash or card) like $1.50 "service fee" to cover overhead, which is the cost of doing business and comes out of profits!!! they get at least 100 customers per day so the service fee is $150 per day/ $4500 month! plus you get no fortune cookies and only get forks/spoons/napkins if you ask! they should just bump prices up 10% rather than have a tacky service fee!!! smh!!! UPDATE 12/20/24..... I went tonight for dinner and I forgot to mention... when you order online then go in to pay, they ALWAYS charge .01 higher, so if the bill is $20.27.... They will tell you $20.28!!! Just shady $hit so watch out!!! I would not even give this place 1 star based on the fact that after eating food from here I am having major stomach issues now and I have never had a problem with Chinese food before. We ordered three combination dinners; the chicken & cashew had maybe three tiny pieces of chicken in it, the sesame chicken was just okay, and the beef and broccoli had an unusual sauce. I had told them I like a lot of soy sauce and do not want any duck sauce. When I got my delivery they gave me 3 soy sauce packets, that would be 1 soy sauce packet per meal ordered. Entire experience was not good... I got their flyer in my mail box... So I called to order... The employee on the other end spoke english but with an accent so I knew I had to speak slowly and spell everything for him... Lots of background noise, and I continued to spell my street name letter by letter and their employee continued to fuck up the spelling of the street... And then I'd say Avenue and he'd reply by asking me; Drive ?... NO FUCKING AVENUE, not DRIVE !!! I could feel that employee was becoming frustrated with his shitty english and all the background cooking/kitchen noise wasn't helping at all !!! So #1 suggestion; as a restaurant sign up with Eat24, which is part of Yelp, which will eliminate me talking to you and you not understanding my street name, this way I type my address into the Eat24 and you drive. Then, they told me it would take for my small order to be here in 40 minutes... It took over 2 hours... Horse shit ! Then the employee continuously called me back, yelling into the phone over all the kitchen noise that their navigation couldn't find my address... To which I told them at the beginning; that it's a new community and I spelled my street name numerous times, AND I gave directions turn by turn... Anyway... Food sucked, nothing impressive, tasted like Chinese buffet food... Expensive seafood soup was like gel, even a metal spoon wouldn't sink (I'll post a picture of the none sinking spoon) ! Jez. I hate giving poor reviews but I have to be honest when something awesome blows me away and when something is exceptionally bad. Now let me say for 10 years I have been saying New Fong is the best Chinese in Greece. It has always been consistently good. It has always been a little above the standard Chinese takeout found everywhere around rochester. I also understand every restaurant has an off night. Unfortunately New Fong has had a few in a row. It seems like everybrestaurant goes through a process where they start out caring about quality and eventually run into the run of the mill, just get the food out, let's save some money process. NEW Fong has hit this wall. I just wanted a quick couple of standards: chicken chow Mein and another visit cashew chicken. This review has gone on long enough where I will get to the point: inedible. I used to work in restaurants so I tend to give alot of leeway. But the chicken in both dishes, at separate times was awful if not bad. I was nervous I may feel sick those nights and end up at the hospital. A quick description is the chicken had the consistency of little mushy flour dumplings. And that's what I thought it was at first. Anybody that has cooked Chinese at home knows its usually corn starch that thickens the sauce. I figured they didn't mix in the cornstarch enough. Then I realized it was the chicken. I was disgusted... And the sauce on the cashew chicken was old. It was super sticky, like the skin on top of old gravy. So disappointed. Eventually many restaurants run their course. New Fong has hit that wall. So sad. Good thing I prefer thai and viet now. read more

I found a small staple in my chines food. I was eating it and felt something to crunchy. Took it out of my mouth it was a staple.I said what in the hell is that doing in my chines food. I called them talked to the manager &. Said I will not order from this chines place again & told him why. He did not even offered a refund I even saved the staple to bring in but don't drive. He would have never gave me a refund even if I showed him the staple. It look like it came from a wire bush. Never again. American-Chinese takeout food, but a cut above the rest. Little things stand out. Like the quality of barbecued pork, which appears in their fried rice and egg rolls. It's fresh, flavorful pork that you see them cooking in the little oven behind the front desk. They could easily ship this in pre-cooked, but they prepare it fresh. Another is their vegetable chow mein. This is a humble, simple dish that takeouts often under-season or stuff with baby corn and cabbage. But at New Fong, it is simply delicious. Perfect comfort food. Every time we've ordered, over more than fifteen years, food has been fresh and flavorful. Honestly, I think it just comes down to their success. There's always 6 to 8 workers in kitchen, front desk, delivery, etc. The line of people always waiting for orders at the cash register testify to Fong's success. read more

After ordering 2 items and 2 cans of soda, to be delivered, the driver arrived withouts the cans. So, of course, I called the restaurant to let the know. Initially, the young lady on the phone tried to convince me that I had not been charged for the soda. However, the receipt clearly showed I had been charged. I was quoted a price which included the sodas. And, ultimately, I did pay for the sodas. In the amount of time it took for the young lady on the phone to figure out what happened, I had nearly finished eating the food which did manage to arrive. At this point one might think a simple solution would be to deliver the 2 sodas. But no, I was told the delivery drivers "all left" and instead they would annotate my account reflecting that I should receive two "free" sodas on my next order (odd that the drivers would have "all left" since the restaurant wasn't scheduled to close for another 3 hours). With the vast number of completion in the area, I will gladly be giving one of them my money instead of calling this restaurant back in the hopes of receiving two "free" sodas (that I already paid for). read more

The food portions are huge and they are in a convenient location. The chicken is good and so is the rice. It's hard to mess up! It's affordable, and the lunch specials are priced very fairly. I have no issues with New Fong, except I do not like their Lo Mein, just don't! You won't regret ordering from here, but I do like Chef King more. read more

This place used to be my favorite Chinese take out place. Until the past couple of times, they have basically given me not much for the money. I ordered a noodle dish which was supposed to have vegetables in it. The vegetables were very sparse. They hardly put anything in there as far as vegetables go. It was mainly spaghetti and sparse vegetables. And it hardly had any taste. The chicken dish was ok, but I wasn't impressed because first off it wasn't the dish I ordered. It was something else. And they didn't give me the full size rice to go with one of the dishes. They basically gave me a little tiny tiny box. Like what the heck. And they gave me a huge sizes when I didn't ask for a huge dish sizes. And for a long time now they've actually stopped giving the free fried noodles with the dishes that you order from there. And they hardly give you that many fortune cookies, like they used to. So unfortunately I will not be going back. That's a waste of money and frustration that I don't need. Honestly, I think communication is key and they really need to communicate better with their customers. Aka, the thick Asian accent and their inability to get things right and understanding English. Not happy with situations like this, here or anywhere. Extremely frustating? But anyways, for those who like the place, great keep on going. I think they are under new management and it's an improvement! The food was good before but it's great now! I got chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce and it was nice and spicy. The shrimp roll was very fresh and the boneless spare ribs were awesome with a nice slight char. In the past sometimes the food wouldn't be as fresh, not bad, but not fresh either. Make sure to double check your order when you pick up your food to make sure it is correct. I had a issue recently and when I called back the business was not very accommodating. I had to press the employee to remake the food as she would not not refund the cost to my credit card. She actually hung up on me.
