We had a problem with our old garage door and called new generation at the recommendation of a friend. The technicians came out very quickly and diagnosed the problem. I also asked for an estimate on a new door and motor, which was provided very promptly. The quoted price was very reasonable. From the time we approved the estimate to the new door being installed was less than 36 hours, which included removal of the old door, HOA approval, installation of the new door, and painting. Way back in January I put down a deposit for new garage door and I was told that I wouldn't get it until April 30. Ivan was awesome, he listened to what I wanted and wrote up the order exactly. He was upfront that it would be a wait and then it would be installed the day after it arrived. Imagine my disappointment when it did not arrive and I was told it was pushed back yet another month into June! Then imagine my surprise when it arrived the next week and they called to ask, "Would you like it installed the next morning?" So smart, it tells me the time and temperature of my garage. I can open it 3 different ways, by the app on my phone, the wall pad, or the standard garage clicker. The app has a record of when it was opened and closed. My garage door was making a clunking noise when I closed it. I called Tony and he said he would be there in 30 minutes to take a look at it. Tony and Carlos arrived on time and stated I had four hinges that were broken. He replaced the hinges and did maintenance on the top spring and hinges as he said they were very dry (should be done on an annual basis.) He also noticed and replaced another piece with a more stable part than was on the door. Great response time and quickly repaired my door. All quiet now. Thanks Tony and Carlos. read more

New Generations installed a new mid-century style steel gate, which provides access to my rear yard on one side of the house. The quality of the final product turned out fine, but I had issues along the way with this contractor. First, they almost reneged on the estimated price that was agreed to by their sales rep. They eventually honored the price, but the fact that I had to push back on something like that left a bad impression. Secondly, the sales rep. stated that there was a 2-week turnaround on the gate, and it actually took a month. I was told it took longer because the glass panel had to be ordered, which I found odd since that should have already been factored into the timeline for the project. The company needs to be more accurate with customers regarding the true turnaround time for such projects. The initial paint finish on the installed gate was very poorly done (smudges, uneven areas and drips). Thankfully, the company acted quickly to address this concern by sending their painting contractor out the next day to completely re-paint the gate. Lastly, the company did a poor job of communicating the status of the project. While the office staff was friendly and easy to work with, I had to always reach out to them for any updates. read more

TLDR: Rushed work resulting in very poor quality. Took 6 months to get 2 pedestrian gates installed properly. We used New Generation for a couple of new gates for a backyard. After initial install the gates were not strait or level causing it swing when opened. The hinge side needed some adjustment which in turn would result in the latch side also needing adjustment. Before these adjustments were made Mark insisted on sending the painters. I cautioned that it needs adjustment and maybe even new trim and welding. He said its fine the painters can come back for touch up. Well low and behold they had to move the latch jamb resulting in a white paint line on a dark wall. Frustrating when an unexperienced home owner forewarned about this issue and was ignored. I also made clear to Mark that the painter is not to "paint match" my color but actually use Benjamin Moore paint (of course I said I would pay for the paint). Since the gate was already painted and only the latch jambe needed touch up the painter came back except this time I had bought the paint myself. Can you guess the end? The paint color wasn't even close. So basically he said he used Benjamin Moore when he clearly didn't. I assume he just grabbed whatever white paint he had lying around or tried to paint match it with some Home Depot trash brand which never works because base colors vary. Also worth noting is this whole process took about 6 months because they basically forgot about my job. Then tried to invoice me for the completed work when I had an uneven and unpainted jamb. read more

BEWARE! Nice people but spotty work. I had a faulty part installed along with an improper gate mounting, which caused damage that New Generation would not even attempt to remedy. Go elsewhere or make sure that you have a warrantee!! read more

This company used the old 'bait and switch' technique on me when they quoted an estimated $550 fee for supposedly reconditioning two cedar gate doors. They explained that the doors needed to be sanded prior to recoating and that this was going to require some effort. However, they sent a painter out to my house and he was finished with their so-called reconditioning in 2 hours. I called and complained that $550 for 2 hours of a painter's time was not fair. They reduced the price to $400 and I still complained that $400 was still an excessive amount of money for a 2 hour effort. They refused to lower the bill any more. I will never use this company again. read more
