Recently heard about this place and decided to give it a try. Had awesome Shabu Shabu in Tokyo recently and that's our only hot pot reference. The restaurant was clean and we liked the sleek conveyor. The sauce bar was great, though we wish the restaurant had small trays with multiple cups so that multiple sauces could be tried at the same time while keeping them separate. As it was, the cups were large and resulted in a lot of mixing. Not a huge issue. The meats and seafood we tried were really good. Extra broth was brought a few times, which we appreciated. We really liked that we each had our own broth. Nevertheless, we both ended up ordering the same one. The conveyor was hit or miss. We found ourselves waiting and waiting for a particular item that never reappeared while other items go around and around. Presumably, the server can retrieve those hard-to-find items. Still, it's nice to be able to window shop first. At $26 for AYCE, the price is reasonable, if a bit pricy. We'll definitely be returning, though. read more

The broth and options are pretty basic, similar to any other hot pot restaurant. Now on the problem tonight that I must alert the public too! The sever (Feng) clearly had a bit of an attitude. I don't know whether it was due to the fact it was getting late, the place was pretty full, or was he just trying to turn tables over faster... I don't know but it was uninviting especially since it was my first time at this specific location. And it gets worse... the first instance there was hair found in one of the sauces that they leave out and unattended in the front of the restaurant. Customer alerted them and granted they switched it out... but then when I became the victim of hair in my food the experience was OVER for me. I attempted to speak with the manager at the front who said her name was "Ling". She basically insisted that it was because I was at the end of meal it wasn't a problem and that customers get hair in the sauce sometimes so it's fine... I just stated since my experience was tainted i didn't expect to pay full price when I could continue my meal -which is all you can eat! After some back and forth and it was clear I wasn't getting even a sprite discounted I was ready to pay and be done and would just leave a review... now Ling wants to talk, and proceeds to take another customer in front of me. I told her unacceptable, paid $60 and left! Clearly I will never be back to this establishment, I have never been treated with disrespect! Went here the other night with my boyfriend. Since he didn't get off work till 9:30pm it would have been hard for us to eat anywhere, so with such lenient hours it was a blessing. It was my first time having hot pot, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I frequent Korean BBQ spots, so I was hopeful it was like that. It was a bit different, but it was absolutely wonderful. Our waitress was Theresa, and she was amazing. She let me try the different soups, and helped me find rice cakes. She also helped me get some rice to combat the spiciness of the soup. I asked if spice levels could be changed, etc. and she said that it could be. Even at such a late hour, she continued to help us without stress. I couldn't be more grateful. I thought that this hot pot place is pretty good. I came in here for Thanksgiving dinner with several friends and it was their first time having hot pot. I liked that they had the conveyer belt system and that there is ice cream (which is pretty good)! I thought that the AYCE selection was fine and the quality of the food was fine as well. I'm just really happy that there's an AYCE hot pot in the area and I had no qualms about the service. Seems like pretty standard fare to me and I'm glad that my newbie friends seemed to enjoy themselves even though hot pot can be intimidating. read more

Yeah, so this is now my happy place. My wife and I have been here way to often since discovering this place in Nov/Dec 2021. You cook your own food, it's Hot Pot, so if that isn't your thing, get over it. You start by choosing a broth to cook in. Spicy Butter is a few dollars extra, but totally worth it. Silky, spicy and extremely flavorful. My wife has had that, the regular spicy and the Tom Yum broth. To be clear, if you order spicy, it's gonna be spicy. Numbing spicy, so yeah, know what your getting into. They've got a ton of standard hot pot accoutrements like vegetables, meats, seafoods, but a few things stand out: Spiced Beef is a marinated beef that is magical, they have a fatty beef that is like beef bacon. It's also all you can eat, so don't worry if the portions look small once you get the spread. You 'd be surprised at how full you get. One important thing to keep in mind, what you cook in the broth helps flavor the broth. Towards the end of the meal, you'll have developed a deeply reinforced broth that is EPIC. Then is the time to eat/cook the noodles. Tip of 18% is included, which is a shame, because clearly some of their servers deserve more. We tip extra when we get one who's awesome. read more

They have a huge variety of meats, vegetables, noodles and seafood to order and add to your broth as well as items rotating on a belt around your table. I had a good experience when I came here in terms of service and quality of food. I do think I picked the wrong soup for my preference but that had nothing to do with the place :) the Tom yum broth was delicious but it was not something I wanted to eat a lot of with different food in it so next time I'll try something like the bone broth or mushroom! read more

Finally!!! A Hotpot experience in Towson! For so long my husband and I would travel to Ellicott City or Riverdale for hotpot. It's so nice to now have a great spot around the corner. They did a great job with the soft opening. They charged half price for the all you can eat this week which was a major win. The service was excellent! The veggies come around on the rotator but the waiter brings out the fresh meats to keep the food fresh. They were all very attentive and remembered to bring oit everything we ordered in good portions. The meats were of a good quality, not too fatty. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I ordered the pork bone broth. I expected it to have more of a pork flavor but it was still very delicious. My husband got the Tom Yum broth (not sure of spelling) we both enjoyed our broth. They had all the usual sauces and even a few we hadn't had before. They were very good. At the end of your meal they have a ice cream bin to choose different desserts all Hershey's brand. I like that they let you enjoy your experience and didn't rush you out. The food was so amazing were going back tonight! I was very pleased with New Generation and I hope they stick around for quite some time. I have a feeling they will get great business in this area! Me and my friends a had reservations of 8 at 12 pm when they open we had a male waiter when we got in he didn't even give us time to settle into to booth when he asked what we would like we asked for a few minutes to decide what we would like to eat not even a minute later her came back asking what we would like we was rushed into ordering our food. We have a friend that is allergic to shellfish and we accidentally mixed up the tongs so we requested to ask for a new soup base since we didn't want our friend to get an allergic reaction when we asked for a another soup base he got upset and got angry with us for asking for another one we already knew it was going to cost an additional amount to our check we were okay with paying extra but he was constantly sucking his teeth and huffing and puffing under his breath after asking for that soup base we didn't even ask for anymore food. We was not even there that long. They we're constantly rushing us we left around 1 I would not recommend. I'm so happy that there's finally a place for Hot Pot in Towson! If you're new to the concept of hotpot, it's basically deconstructed soup. You get access to a vast amount of ingredients to put in your soup, and they are fresh and delivered upon your request. You get a choice of broth, personally I always opt for their Tom Yum soup because I love a tangy base. Their sauce bar is great--you can create your own concoction of flavors to dip your proteins and veggies in after cooking them in your pot. My ideal sauce consists of sesame sauce, oyster sauce, jalapeños, garlic, and chili oil. Each seat has its own temperature control settings for your soup, so it's an enjoyable experience getting to cook your own food while placing orders frequently until you're satisfied. If your waiter doesn't come often enough, there is a conveyor belt located in the middle of the restaurant with continuously rotating ingredients up for grabs. I suggest ordering a ton of meats when they ask so they can start preparing, and then grabbing from the conveyor belt for miscellaneous items! Afterwards, they have a freezer full of ice cream for your dessert needs! I will always have an order of: Sliced pork belly, any of the sliced beef, squid, fish tofu, quail eggs, enoki mushroom, and napa cabbage. It's all you can eat for $26! Parking is validated for 3 hours if you park at the Library Garage! In general, this place has pretty good service and food, but it didn't WOW me. I noticed they had installed iPads for placing orders on some tables but not ours, but I think that's a work in progress. Would highly recommend for groups and families. It is the only place of its kind in the vicinity. Ample amount of parking, and we were seated immediately by the staff. The concept is cool and it would be a nice place to go with a large group; however it seemed overpriced to me for lunchtime at 25$ per person. Consider a lunch special. I will not be coming back, however, because I was berated by a waiter for taking the bottom plate off of the conveyor belt - I mean the dude legit yelled at me. It made me very uncomfortable. Making your patrons feel stupid is a pretty terrible business model. I see another review on here with a similar complaint. Please recognize that most people have probably never had hot pot before so they may not know how everything works. Consider explaining the conveyor belt and the double plates upon seating guests to minimize confusion. Loved the food here! The mushrooms tasted fresh and the meat was great. I tried the Tom yum soup, and it was nice. The "spicy" soup was actually spicy so that was great. Both the Tom yum and spicy soups were a little oily though, so we had to scoop some of the oil out. I went to this place on Saturday with a couple of my guy friends. It was so good, we took our wives back on Sunday. Yes, we enjoyed it so much that we went back to back days! The meats and seafood are very fresh. We didn't eat to many of the veggies, but they looked fresh... I am preferential to the Tom Yum broth. Its has great flavor all on its own, and really shines by adding a little garlic and hot oil. My favorite meats were the pork belly and spiced beef. My favorite seafoods were the salmon and mussels. Oh, the fish balls are also good. There is tremendous variety overall, so you can really enjoy it "buffet" style. The place is nice and comfortable. There is a conveyor belt that wraps around the inside for easy grabs, while the meat selections and drinks are brought by the wait staff. They also have fruits and ice cream as finishers. The staff was great! They helped with picking the broth and sauces. They also helped with how long to cook each item (most take seconds). Very friendly with lots of smiles :-) Overall, I am very glad New Generation opened. There isn't anything like it around. I can easily recommend going here for a good time and a great meal. I love me some hot pot! I was in the neighborhood and decided to check this place out. The selection was good, and the ambiance was calming. I LOVE the sauce bar!! I absolutely adore the conveyor (spelling?) belt of food passing by. The only thing I wasn't quite ready for was the toughness of the fatty sliced beef. I'm not sure if the shaving was too thick, but the beef was a bit tough. If it weren't for that and the parking situation in Towson-this would definitely be a five star. Tried their spicy broth which is surprisingly good given most of the hot broth we had around area were not spicy or flavorful enough for our palate. Plenty of meat options to choose from, we particularly liked the sliced lamb, beef and the shrimp and fish paste. You need to order the meat from the server for them to bring it to the table but they normally fill the order quickly. Was in Maryland to drop my niece off at college, and hot pot is our favorite thing to do back home in Boston. I looked up the nearest hot pot restaurants and New Generation stood out. The place is interesting. For the middle booths and a few single seats, a conveyor belt has small helpings a veggies and certain meats. The pork bone broth lacks flavor. It was like water cooking the food. Even after cooking for a long time, the flavor did not improve. The selection of veggies was decent. The sauce bar had everything I liked and that was good. Server was nice and pleasant. At the end though, we split the payment and upon seeing the Apple Pay slip, she said tip was not included on the bill. We told her we knew this and was still in the process of paying the rest of the bill and tip in cash. As a server myself, I wouldn't address a table without having the full payment. Reply to Ming, I don't think it's miscommunication issue. It's the female manger who stood next to the front desk verbally enforced us to leave right after we just opened our table for about 80 minutes. First of all, she came to our desk and told us we should stop eating because a lot of customers were waiting. I told her and showed her our receipt saying we just opened the table at 6:20 pm, and it's not even 80 minutes. She saw it and knew the time, but she still verbally enforced us to leave in a very annoying and rude manner. Second, by then, we were not eating any dessert, we were still even eating our meals and waiting for waiters to get our orders. Third, the female manager came twice, not just the checks... to ruin our dinner. I don't know who told you that we were eating dessert or any miscommunication issue, which is not even true. However, not matter what, it won't change anything by now. Please don't blame our desk waiter for this event, he was nice, I would say he is better than the female manager.
