I LOVE this place. I'm definitely a gal that could eat hot pot on the regular. As soon as I saw the rotating bar, I knew I had to sit around it. Immediately upon sitting down, I was like a kid in the candy shop! I wanted to grab everything! They had so many options; from meats to veggies to other goodies! After ordering drinks, we visited the sauce bar and boy were there so many options. I'm used to the typical sauces, but they also had dessert! I opted for just the peanut sauce which was amazing! We ordered so many things: fatty beef, pork belly, tripe, veggies, meatballs, fish balls, mini sausage, several tofus, mushroom, etc. I swear we tried almost everything. They take your meat order on tablets and bring it fresh, which I really appreciate! The only downside: we tried to order shrimp paste several times, but kept getting brought fresh shrimp. Which we ate, but we definitely wanted the shrimp paste. My favorite items were the fatty beef, pork belly, tofu, bean curd strip type things, veggies, meatballs, shrimp paste (a must try) and the regular tripe! Highly recommend going with friends because you can share and eat more. Visited Next Gen for the first time recently! We went hungry in order to get the best out of the All You Can Eat menu, and it was worth the wait for the amount of food! Lots of options for meats, seafood, and veggies/noodles/tofu, and each order comes in a small size so you can try tons of different things. I personally was a big fan of the lamb meat (got like 3 orders of it) and the crab meatballs. There were several broth options (We had the mushroom and the spicy broths, the mushroom was a little bland but spicy was great), the sauce bar allows you to customize your flavors even more, and there are also lots of fruits and ice cream that you can get that come with the AYCE menu. I do wish there was an option to have the seafood that you order come cleaned/deshelled/ready to eat since I wasn't expecting to have to peel my shrimp or prepare squid (it had an eye on it?) before eating it. Although their meats were clearly high quality and fresh, I think some of their vegetables looked a little wilted. I think the main issue with this location is just the price--it's $31 with the all-you-can-eat menu for dinner with an automatic 18% tip, although there aren't a lot of services involved (there's a revolving conveyor belt where you can grab stuff for yourself, the sauce bar is self serve, ice cream and fruit is self serve, etc.). Also, although it is advertised as all-you-can-eat, you still have to pay extra for drinks, and some meat/seafood/broth options cost extra, which I don't think is what all you can eat is for. I've been here a total of 2 times. The first time I went, I really loved it because the broth was flavorful and it had the necessities of what a hotpot needs, aka variety of meet, seafood, and veggies. The second time I went, the broth tasted very bland to me, and I got the same broth as last time, which was the Tom Yum broth. I was kind of disappointed considering I brought my parents the 2nd time, so it makes me wonder if the broth they got was good. Neither of them really commented on the food, and usually they're make a small comment like "oh it's good". The scallops also tasted a little off to me, kind of like plasticky. The service was up to par, we were consistently checked on and the table was consistently cleared from all the plates we ordered and kept grabbing from the conveyer belt. Hot pot is always a fun concept. I love hot pot and I have been to various hot pot locations, particularly in New York. When I found out that my hometown of Towson was opening a hot pot place, I was super excited. This location has a great all you can eat deal for lunch and dinner, with lunch being the cheaper option. Although I do not think that this location has anything particularly different about it, I do think that they serve clean food, are quick to serve you and the atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed. Some seats can be awkward as you are directly next to another table with the conveyor belt separating you, but that's not a big deal. Overall, I gave this 5 stars because of the quality of their food and their wait staff. As with any rotating food location, you do not know how long the food has been rotating around the conveyor belt. I have been to this location 4-5 times now, and I have not had any issues. We were put on a waitlist of an hour but the 50% off enticed us to wait it out and it was very worth the wait! We all got the spicy pork broth which was very good. Before you go look into hotpots to understand how they work. Started with the octopus and it made the broth fishy for everything else so you gotta do it in an order. The food was very fresh and generous portions for the all you can eat. Every time our waiter showed up we would ask for a plate or two and there was no hesitation immediately rolling out plate after plate! The conveyor belt is an awesome feature too cause you just pick as you see it (GET THE DUMPLINGS)! Overall this place was well worth the wait and would even say it's worth the full price! Great job on the soft opening! The value here is very good, even at full price. The conveyor brings all kinds of fresh vegetables, tofus, meatballs, and noodles past you, non-stop (kids will love this--even I was fascinated by the invisible magnetic conveyance), and the waiters will bring out the freshly cut meats as you request them--I don't have the exact count, but there are more than a dozen high-grade cuts and fresh seafood offerings included in the all-you-can eat price, plus a few at extra cost. The broths are deliciously flavored, and there are at least 2 vegetarian broths available. I know this is Baltimore's first all-you-can-eat hot pot, so here's a little hot pot know-how for first-timers. Hot pot is all about the experience of choosing and preparing your own goodies in the broth you selected (so if you don't enjoy cooking your own food, stick to your Golden Corral and your Denny's places). Broth is adjustable and refillable, so if you ordered the spicy broth and it's too much for you, you can skim off the spicy oil and ask to have it watered down with a non-spicy broth. You also probably don't want to eat the seeds and spices that are already in the broth--you can scoop them out with a slotted spoon if you want to avoid that possibility. Don't put too much in your pot at the same time--it will slow the boiling down, and there's a risk your pot could run over when the boiling starts (your server will alert you to that, too). Keep it to 2-3 items in the pot at the same time until you get a feel for it. If you feel like trying it out but are nervous about cooking your own food, invite your Chinese friend or hot pot expert and pay for theirs. Win win. read more

This is a fun place! Now you no longer have to trek to Ellicott City to enjoy the hot pot experience. Every seat has an individual hot pot, so each party member can choose their own broth. It's all you can eat. Most meat and seafood is ordered through the waiter and you can grab vegetables, noodles, etc from a cool magnetic conveyor belt system. It is reasonable to start with two proteins per person. You can always order more later. Don't forget to hit up the sauce bar after you order. I've been 3 times. The service varies considerably depending on who your server is. The first time I had excellent service, the second time the server was pretty bad, the third time I had good, but not great service. As others have mentioned some seats are WAY better than others. Thankfully, every time I've been there, I've been seated next to the food conveyor belt. Some tables are not located next to the conveyor belt and you will have to awkwardly get up and lean over other diners to grab items from the conveyor belt. They also tend to run out of some popular ingredients. Pros: tasty broths, fun communal experience, lots of ingredient options, reasonable price point Cons: some bad seats in the house, some of the seafood was too "fishy" for me, often out of some popular ingredients, service quality varies greatly All in all, a really fun communal dining experience. The broth wasn't nearly as flavorful as I would have liked, but it wasn't terrible either. Their selection of meats, veggies, and other ingredients was great, but I noticed that the portions would grow increasingly smaller and would take longer to come out too, no fault to the servers because they said the kitchen staff determines how much comes out. Their sauce bar had a wide variety of different sauces, which I appreciate. They also have an ice cream cooler so you can get a little dessert after your meal. They also validate parking for 3 hours if you park at the Cinemark garage or the library garage. Great new place in Towson! Unfortunate that we missed the soft opening special, but we still got 15% for their grand opening! We had a party of four and waiter about 45 minutes to be seated, which wasn't bad/expected for a Friday night. The selection is wide and the meats are of great quality! Definitely recommend the spicy beef, sliced lamb, and sliced pork belly! The seafood is of good quality, the shrimp were fresh and flavorful! However, we weren't able to try to blue crab since they had run out by the time we were seated. The seafood pancake was SO good, I'd definitely order it the next time I come. I would recommend to sit next to the conveyer belt if possible because sometimes the servers are busy so they can't take your orders for the vegetables or fish cakes. On another note, when asking the servers for some things on the menu (like tofu or vegetables) they'll say it's on the conveyer belt, which they might be, but sometimes they aren't so you have to insist for the item. I'm giving this place only four stars because of the service, but it is understandable because they just opened. It took about 20+ minutes for us to receive our soup pots and I had to ask for our meats that we've ordered previously on three different occasions to finally have them served to us. Sometimes the server would bring out maybe 75% of the items we ordered but would walk away before we could ask about the items we missed. Love this hot pot joint. So far they have been offering consistently warm service and fresh food (unlike many of the other hot pot joints which would go downhill pretty quickly). Went three times already and each time was great. They also have some unconventional/regional Chinese options that you cannot find anywhere else. My favorite meats are the OX tongues and the spicy beef, the latter I've never seen at other hot pot joints before in the area! But it is a regional favorite from Sichuan. The sliced tender beef and fatty beef are also pretty fresh considering this is a AYCE restaurant. There are a huge selections of vegetables and other stuffs. The magnetic belt is not new in the area but the vegetables they serve are very fresh as well. Soup bases are all delicious and just pick what ever you feel like ordering. Only complaint is that sometimes the magnetic belt does not get replenished in a timely manner. But you can call the servers and ask them to get the items you want directly from the kitchen. Price is around 18 dollars for weekday lunch and is 26 for dinner and weekends. They currently have 20% offer for weekday dinner during August which is very nice :-) read more

Great hot pot place! We usually get the spicy soup base and the mushroom soup base! The spicy has three levels I believe and getting the medium was a perfect level. You order the meats, seafood, and any other sides you want through a server. The veggies and some side dishes can be found on the conveyor belt that flows throughout the restaurant. I had one of the waiter who wasn't our waiter scold my husband while I went to excuse myself to the bathroom not to take the bottom plates from the rotating table. If he had politely told him to not take the bottom plates that would have been fine but to scold? That was severely wrong. What kind of customer service is that? Also it wasn't him who took those bottom plates it was me! And if our waitress had told us from the beginning then we wouldn't have a problem. Broth was good and tasty. I appreciate the effort of meeting expectations in terms of taste because the place is relatively new. However, you could still taste that the broth needs more work :) Beef wasn't premium but it was good! For an eat all you can, they offer good selections and that's really impressive. I think the highlight of my experience was that they have seafood included in the eat all you can menu! I got blue crab and it was so worth it especially if you don't mind getting your hands dirty. I love this place. The food is good and so is the service. I suggest that if you go here that you get a female server. Every time I get a male server, the service is not a good. The females are so attentive. I love how they make sure that my table is good. If it's your first time here, you get to pick only one broth and that's it. This place is all you can eat. It's like building your own soup. They also have a build your own sauce station. The atmosphere is nice as well. They only have booths for you to sit at, which I prefer. This place also follows Covid-19 protocol. They take your temperature upon arrival and provide you with hand sanitizer. Two things about this place that you should enjoy: there is no long wait time and you can bring your own alcohol. Just make sure you bring your I.D because they do check. I had been watching youtube videos about hot pot and learning all about the expectations of a very great hot pot spot and this was my first place ever actually experiencing. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my whole experience. For food, I would not recommend the herbal broth unless you plan on adding sauces to it bc it is very watery, I had to add some hot oil for more flavor. They also accidentally brought out the wrong broth for me but since I was new at this I didn't notice until I had tasted it. Overall, the meat (i think it was frozen when brought out to us), veggies, noodles and other ingredients were very tasty for my first time. Now for prices, the lunch price mon-friday is the best if you can make it in during that time because it is only 17.99 for an adult versus the dinner price of 25.99 for an adult. Also plan on drinking water unless you want to pay extra for drinks, luckily dessert is included! I do recommend this place for beginners but people who love hot pot, i recommend staying with your favorite place over this unless your up for trying something new! We came here at noon on a Monday to get the lunch deal ($18.99). It is AYCE, which is nice for us since I am someone that just eats a lot. It was quiet when we arrived, which was expected on a Monday. The staff was very friendly and very adequate as they seem to know when I need them for something. The food was alright. The items they had were your typical ones that you would expect from an AYCE hot pot place. The broth on the other hand was bland and lacking in flavor. We never tried this place so we figure we give this a chance since we usually head out into Ellicott City/Columbia area for hot pot and we live in Baltimore City so this would be the closest in distance. I didn't like how they were lacking in their greens. For example, we couldn't order Tongho (Crown Daisy) for lunch because its a dinner items which was the first time I experience a veggie to be a dinner item, nor did they have water crest. The typical spot we usually dine in for hot pot is Urban Hot Pot by the Columbia Mall and I will have to say that will most likely remain true even after trying New Generation Hot Pot. If we are in the area and are desperate and really don't want to drive out to Columbia, then we will consider this. But we will most likely not come back as there really wasn't an incentive to do so. This restaurant is amazing. I went as a group of nine and everyone loved this restaurant. It is a little bit expensive but you eat enough to cover the price. This is the first hotpot restaurant in Towson and I think it's just as good as the ones in New York. I like how each seat has it's own pot so different people can have different soup base flavours. The conveyor belt design for the non-meat items was not very smart because if you're not sitting by it you have to get up and walk over to retrieve the dishes, meaning that some of the more popular side dishes are usually already taken by the people sitting by the belt. ⁣ I got the pork bone base, which I thought was pretty good. My friend got the spicy base, which according to him was very very spicy, but I'm not sure what his spice tolerance level is. We ordered almost all the meat items. Most were pretty good, except I think the fatty beef, fish balls, and seaweed knots imo. I thought the fatty beef was a little TOO fatty, and the fish balls and seaweed knots had an unpleasant fishy taste. I love the beef tongue here! It's so tender! A must try! This place is very clean. My husband has vulnerable stomach, and gets upset stomach for most hotpot places and many restaurants we've tried. This restaurant is the only one that never let his stomach down. That's why we think the sanitary condition here is excellent! Gratuity or Tip??? This was my third time going to this restaurant and all of a sudden we were charged a gratuity on each of our bills ($4.86) with NO NOTIFICATION whatsoever. Restaurants are required by law to tell customers about gratuity! Gratuity is not a tip! Our waitress also tried to make me pay another $4.86 telling me that was the tip, coming to a total of about $42. Then she proceeded to deny it when I asked her about it. Our waitress had a terrible attitude and yet we were required to tip her about $17 for our table of 4. I will not be returning to this place again as I already felt discriminated against for my race.
