We owe a debt of gratitude to Dr. Mills and her brilliant assistant Sabyl, who gave our grateful family the best Christmas present we could ever hope for-- the life of Mister Basher, our aging but now very healthy Goldie. It was our first time with an integrative veterinarian, and it was a wonderful holistic journey that helped us to think outside the box as far as health and happiness of our good boy. Dr. Mills is very generous with her time and explains things very thoroughly with lots of great suggestions for everything from weight loss to dog training. We were helped with understanding how to get our very strong personality boy to become the boy whom we love today. The team at the front of the office handles appointments, answers questions, and processes records and checkout with efficiency and kindness. This is the same for the back end of the pharmacy who fill prescriptions quickly and accurately or the technicians who take back one's furry loved one for blood tests, vaccines, or nail trims in a kind manner to avoid stress. Both pups and people alike are treated with respect and are allowed to be an active partner with this practice. Our boy developed idiopathic epilepsy prior to turning four which necessitated Dr. Mills to refer us to the neurologist Dr. Erik Johnson, co-founder of NeuroVet in Pleasant Hill, CA. We continued with Dr. Mills for all things unrelated to neurology and she remained interested in his seizure progress. Prior to moving to a new state, we had a battery of tests and vaccines to ensure that we had the best possible care before having to search for a new veterinarian in our area. Dr. Mills was able to help us out of a bind from afar that was very much appreciated and for which we are eternally grateful. We encourage others to consider Dr. Mills for your pets needs as she can manage any type of pet from a horse to a hamster. If you should require a neurologist, Dr. Johnson will likely be the great resource for you as he was for us.

No phone call, no waiting on hold, just a few clicks on the website and we were set. When I arrived a little early, I figured we'd be waiting a while, but they brought us in right away. Miranda, the nurse who first saw us, was kind and gentle with Ezri, and her calm energy helped ease my nerves. Then I met Dr. Mason, who was just as kind. She listened carefully, addressed all of my concerns, and explained everything in a clear and respectful way. I never felt rushed or talked down to, which is something I really appreciate. Some tests were run, and once the results were ready, Dr. Mason personally called to go over them with me. She was just as thoughtful and patient over the phone, making sure I understood everything and felt confident in the next steps. I'm extremely satisfied with the care we received. Everyone was compassionate, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my boy. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here or recommend them to anyone who loves their pet like family.

The boarding also includes a free bath before you pick Fido up. Today, the staff was taking Christmas photos of the dogs. If I could give 100 stars, I would. But I can tell my story and I hope that the management…read morerecognizes the staff who helped me that day, because they exhibited compassion, kindness, and truly supported my family and I when we worked to save 2 abused pups and afford them relief from horrid circumstances. We have shopped at Pet Food Express for at least 20 years. The Livermore location is our "go to" store. The person who has consistently helped me the most over the years is Linda. She is knowledgeable, offers informed opinions, is perpetually polite and positive, and she understands dogs. Fortunately, she still works part time there and I always look for her when I go and the reason I shop there for my many rescues. I spend a lot of time and money there. The long story short: I picked up two 8 month old siblings from Bakersfield from a foster situation who needed a new situation. I did not expect to find two filthy puppies, weak, dehydrated, emaciated, terrified, and covered with fleas and ticks. When I say ticks, I mean at least a thousand on each dog! I drove to Livermore as fast as I could to my usual Pet Food Express hoping to find Linda working. My luckiest day! She was there. My husband met me to help manage the situation. I bought 4 tokens, an excellent brand of flea/tick shampoo, and treats. I knew this was going to be stressful for the pups ( who never were exposed to anything new, were exhausted, and overwhelmed I'm sure). Without Linda's positivity, support, constant check ins for more towels/an extra hand/ encouragement, photo documentation, and communication I'm not sure we would have accomplished relieving those two pups of the misery they were in. I'm posting just a few photos so you can grasp the situation and I can tell you, not everyone is cut out to help abused dogs but Linda- she is a gift. The photos reflect just how many ticks were between their toes, in their ears, attached to the anus, between the pads, clustered all over these poor babies. We pulled dead ticks off for days ( my husband is a retired surgeon). I'm going back today for a second bath and to treat their bone dry fur and skin. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Linda. The manager, Phil, definitely supported Linda while she helped us. Not many businesses would do that except one committed to animal welfare and supporting their customers and staff. Thank you, Pet Food Express. Linda deserves Employee of the Year(s) and thank you for employing people like Phil. If you read this, look for Linda and recognize her when you stop by the store. Her rescue German shepherd dog is posted on one of the banners outside the store (R.I.P.). She an amazing human.

Found this updated post in my draft folder from a year ago or so. Oops. (Dedicated to Moo-Moo.)…read more Kitty showed improvement after just 2 visits. Our local vets didn't think it was possible. More key points I learned: (6) 50-60°F Cold compresses for 2 minutes, then (5) 105°F hot for 2 minutes. Start with cold & end with cold. This gets the blood moving in & out of the area. Warmth is inflammatory, that's why you need to start & end with cold. I bought a bunch of microwavable heat/cold pads. I would put the hot pads in a pot of hot water while using the cold pads to heat them back up. Make sure the urine stays clean looking (bladder emptied 2 or 3 times a day & antibiotics if an infection develops), the skin & genitals get cleaned & dried well to or not get a skin infection. Females - don't cross-contaminate by bringing feces bacteria to the genitals. Infection = sepsis Products I found helpful: cat waterless shampoo, A+D diaper rash ointment & skin protectant (vet recommended because no toxic zinc in it) , & Honey Pot anti-itch wipes.

She's super organized and virtual sessions work great. For animal energy healing sessions, she always deeply listens to concerns, issues. Her care is magical, I have seen so much improvement in my cat's health esp when she's going through rough times. For human reiki sessions, she starts with Tarot cards, and the scalar waves and more. I always feel relaxed post session. The animal reiki sessions have also helped me and deepened my relationship with my pet. I have been also fortunate to take her energy healing class and I have learned so much. i have used the techniques with my cat and I can see the difference it makes. I would highly recommend her! During our session, she told me that the moment she received my request, Charlotte came through to her and said she was ready to go. This was a great comfort to me. She said many other things that deeply comforted me and confirmed that Charlotte's spirit will never leave me. I am still very sad, but this session helped tremendously. I also had a healing done for myself, which was so very helpful. I felt lighter and less devastated. I also felt Charlotte's spirit all around me. I highly recommend Charly for pet communication and healing for your fur baby or yourself. She is a very sweet and empathetic soul and I feel she is the real deal. I know there are skeptics and naysayers, but I don't care. This experience made a huge difference for me in my grieving process and connection to Charlotte.

They walked me through all of the recommended testing and the costs before doing anything. They even performed one test at no charge. At one point, they came back and said there was one additional blood test they could run, but they were on the fence about whether it was really necessary, so they explained the cost and let me decide. I really appreciated that. They felt 99% confident Loki had a stomach ulcer and specifically did NOT recommend jumping immediately to an expensive ultrasound. Instead, they suggested treating him at home first and doing the ultrasound only if he didn't improve. We went home with medications, and they even gave me prescription limited-ingredient food to take home at no charge. To top it off, they called the next day to check on Loki and see how he was doing. I was incredibly impressed with the care Loki received and, just as importantly, with how thoughtful and transparent they were about costs and testing. I would absolutely go back to SAGE--although I really hope I don't have any more cat emergencies anytime soon!
