Went there to get my pores cleaned and get a facial as a 'treat yo self' package activity from a relative. It was so soothing I almost fell asleep! The staff there are very kind and professional. I left with my skin feeling very smooth and clean. Would recommend, especially to people (like me) who don't take care of their skin as often as they should! Was in desperate need of a facial and found New Hope through yelp. I loved Cici, who was very welcoming the moment I stepped through the door. She was very attentive and thorough with my skin. She explained step by step what she was doing to my face and I appreciated that. The basic facial was $40 - which included face cleansing, face steaming, black head removal, face massage with a serum, mini shoulder/head massage, face mask (not sure what type of mask, but smelled like charcoal/clay), and a heated pad for your eyes whilst doing your face mask. I learned that removing blackheads/extraction is quite different from one another. At New Hope, the basic facial includes black head removal, not a intense extraction (which was what I was expecting since this was included in my previous facial experiences). If you wanted a more intense extraction to remove any forming pimples/dirt under pores, this will cost more, which may be worth it since Cici seems very knowledge in working with individuals who has acne issues. If you're looking for a fancy/clean/quiet/peaceful ambiance, this is not the place for you. They do not have individual rooms, all the facial beds were separated by a fabric room divider, you can hear everything - from other clients talking, to someone walking into the salon. I didn't mind the noise but I wished it was more quiet. For $40, you get what you pay for. And Cici is amazing!!!! I do hope that she one day can open a larger beauty salon that offers a more peaceful environment for her future clients. But nonetheless, not too shabby for a last minute find. read more

I found this salon over a year ago from groupon thinking just a one time thing since I don't live in the area. However, I was really happy with the service so I ended up signing for a package for 20 times. It's not easy to find a beautician you like with reasonable price, so I didn't mind the commute every one to two weeks for this. Cici is always take care of her customers with patience even on a busy days with other customers waiting. One time I had to wait longer due to their delays she apologized many times and gave me complimentary hand spa by her assistant. Which I think it was good customer service. I have stay with Cici since then and would recommend her even you are not from the area, it's worth a small trip plus you can also get some delicious Chinese food after facial :) read more

During a trip to the area, I came here on a whim before my hotel check in time, and it was probably one of the best decisions ever. Mrs Wei was able to squeeze me in for a slot the same day I called in. I arrived for my appointment to find a very cute and cozy salon. Mrs Wei greeted me warmly and was extremely accommodating to me and the hefty luggage I was dragging into the small space. We talked a little bit about my skin problems and then she went to work. Mrs Wei is super sweet and even gave me a bunch of recommendations on places to eat and visit during my stay in New York. I've gotten facials prior to this, and this turned out to be by far the most effective and acne-clearing facial I've ever received. In the time of a week and two visits, she managed to turn my severely congested, extremely bumpy skin to smooth. I now only trust Mrs Wei with my skin. If you suffer from any acne or skin problems, you can count on her to take care of it. My gf and I have been coming here for maybe 5 or 6 years and this place is the best! We have been to places that charge 200$ for a facial and New Hope Beauty Salon is still better than all the expensive places like that. Very professional staff. I have been trying few beauty salons to fight my acnes in flushing. I can tell you won't regret to catch this place. The onwer Xixi is skillful and friendly. The place is not luxury but that's not the point you wanna come. I know all the girls desire a clean and smooth skin particular PPL who have peoblem skins like me. I've been coming to New Hope Facial since it was opened. CiCi is wonderful and understands what you need. She is gentle and effective in what she does. I recently used a new anti-aging treatment and it made my wrinkles almost disappear. The salon is close to transportation. It is clean and comfortable. I love her choice of music. I bought a deal from groupon for three microderbrasion facial. Went and the worker there said tax and tips are not included which is not a big deal. I just used one facial deal and will not return for my next two more facials. The place is very dirty with old pillows and very uncomfortable stand to lie down. Its so small. The girl was nonstop on phone while doing my facial and speaking so loud, she has her light on and they were right in my eyes. She didn't use gloves and keep leaving me in middle to use phone. Yes with the same dirty hands also massaging me. Three days after my facial i broke out with small pimples all over my face. Pimples have white stuff in it. I called the place and explain them the situation they said sorry its nothing they can do. I said i will not come back for my other two facials. Please save money and use it to go to a clean place. read more

Came here because of the great reviews. I hated this place. I regret not leaving after seeing the condition of the establishment. The blankets, tables, and curtains are all old and gross. The customer service is terrible. I called and made an appt for the next day which was easy. Was told the facial is $30. When i got there Cici cleaned my face and did steaming. Before she got to the facial part she told me i need a specialized acne treatment and if i didnt choose that option she would not do any extractions on me. What kind of a facial does not have extractions? Anyway since I needed extractions and my face was already steamed and facial started I decided to go with the special treatment. The brochure she showed me that had the list of services did not match the prices she said over the phone. For example the regular facial which i was going to get was supposed to be $30 but the brochure said $45. So that already shows discrepancy and i was not so trusting anymore. I still decided to get the $68 acne facial because my face was bear and I felt if I left that moment she would've charged me for the whole facial. While the lady was doing my facial she was constantly on the phone either picking up her cell or having loud conversations on speaker. There was not even 5 minutes that she was not on the phone! After she did some extractions on my face I noticed she didnt even look at my nose, so i asked if she can do my nose too. She said no because she didnt have time for that. What!? That is such a BS answer. What kind of a facial does not address the nose?? Anyway i did not lose my patience yet and just decided to let it go. So she starts mixing the facial mask and puts it on my face. She offers a hot pillow for my neck and says its free. I said ok whatever and she goes and microwaves that pillow in the microwave that is right by my head! While i had the mask on she got other visitors. When her friends visited i heard the microwave go off again and they started having dinner! They were eating and having loud conversations for about 40 min and my mask was getting super dry. I was getting antsy but patiently waited until she was finished with her friends. After they said their bye's she finals came back to me and cleaned off the mask. The only good part about the facial was that the extractions were gentle and not painful without much downtime. But everything else was horrible! The place is gross. The service is even worse than the place itself. AND i got ripped off. After the whole thing she had the audacity to tell me she is the best esthetician for acne treatments and to come back to her. She even went as far as to have one of her customers who can speak my language tell me that the price i paid is good and she pays twice as more as me for her treatments. I can't believe my aches are totally healed by the cosmetologist Cici there. No one can imagine how grateful I am now. They first cleared all of my aches within one month. After the red is vanished, my face is so fresh. And then the magic started. If you think it only solved ache problem for once like other beauty salons, you are totally wrong. I haven't been through any breakouts for two month so far. Only one or two very tiny aches will come out sometimes. It seems like once you clear out all of the dirty and inflammation under skin, your skin is not suitable for aches to grow. I don't know how to describe it, but I just don't have any ache problem which had tortured me for four years! No more do I need to worry if there grow more aches on my face in every single morning when I wake up. Actually my personality was almost changed by aches because I just hated my face so much and even started feel reluctant to meet people. I know it sounds unbelievable, but the truth is most people with serious aches must feel the same way like me. I called and made an apt on Sunday。 When I came in, no customers were there. I was told the basic facial is $35. For moisture mask it is additional $15. For eye mask it is additional $25. I told them I will think about that two options. The girl did my facial wiped my face really hard. She only did extractions on my nose and chin. When I asked her why she did not do the whole face. She told me because I had the basic one. If I need extractions for the whole face, it is going to cost more than $100. What kind of a facial does only partial extractions? They should tell the customer up front what was included. I will never come back to this place again. read more

Only reason I give 4 stars due to good service. They are nice people and Cici does a good job. I purchased 3 any facials for 79 dollars. As groupon indicated acne treatment, whitening etc....which I bought it for acne since my face started to have tremendous amount of stress acnes after I started my job. As I arrived, she immediately advised it was a mistaken advertisement that acne treatment is NOT part of the Groupon deal... if not, take it down! People are very conscious when acnes spurred out of no where and they are hoping to find a good place for treatment...and she literally crushed the hope. Lol. I don't need whitening, or deep cleaning. I was like fine. I will do other options. She went on advised again you have to pay additional $5 for each facial. So $79 + $15 = $94 for 3 "just okay" facials which it is only around half hour and I have gone to better places for deep cleansings. Maybe people paid with full price had much better experience, but with Groupon I guarantee it isn't worth it. read more

This is my second time coming to this spa. First time was through groupon for a microdermasion and this time was for a basic facial. I really enjoyed the first so i came back for a second. I did not purchase a package. I had xixi as my facialist. She is great. She starts by washing and steaming your face and then performs an in depth extraction process. Then, she massages your face with all natural honey. Lastly, a mask finishes the facial. The facial takes about 1hour plus and includes some neck massage too. I truly enjoyed this experience. My facial was only 30 bucks without tip. The spa is not high end and is small but my skin is pretty good so i really just want some cleaning and extractions done every few weeks. I dont think it is absolutely necessary to spend over a hundred bucks on a facial. Xixi gets the job done for me, and after the facial, my face looks smooth and radiant. read more
