This was a gem of a place! Unusual, quaint, clean and the food was great and the service excellent. My friends and I had brunch like items; waffle hamburger, crepes, and corn jalapeño pancake tacos. Each of us was satisfied with the portion size and quality. Coffee was good too. And the bonus brownie at the end was delicious. The shopping inside was awesome. So many things to purchase. If it weren't for Yelp reviews we honestly would have driven on, don't be deceived by the area and outside. This was one of our favorite stops of our Finger Lakes weekend. read more

Staff is very nice and the food (we all had pancakes) was delicious. My daughter has celiac disease and was especially happy to be able to enjoy the HUGE gluten free waffles with fresh fruit. So four of us stopped by to eat breakfast on a Friday morning...we were greeted promptly and seated immediately. The coffee arrived almost immediately and was very good. The food was spectacular...I couldn't be more impressed with the quality and presentation of this breakfast. It was by far one of the best breakfasts I have ever had out. All four of us raves about our food. Specifically, I had a brunch sandwich...it had a 1/4 lb burger and fried egg sandwiched between two waffle quarters. It was excellent to say the least. This is a small place to eat, but has much more seating then when they first opened. The hostess was absolutely clueless when we stopped in. I am not sure if she was new or what, but definitely needed training. Was not even using common sense to make decisions. She was very young and I am sure with training would do better and things would run more efficiently. So, despite having to wait 20-30 minutes to be seated, the food was worth the wait. I had a Vanilla Bean pancake with blueberry preserves and whipped cream. It was delicious! The pancake was huge and I loved the flavor combination. They have some to choose from, but then there is lists of flavors of pancakes and various toppings that you can mix and match. I am so excited about coming back and trying other things in the menu!! I was really really hoping this place would be worth the hype. This city girl loves that farmhouse feel, and getting to sit on that cute porch made my heart sing! The service was a bit slow but they were very nice, and it's probably perfect if you want a nice easy morning. The food wasn't stellar. For a place known for their pancakes, they left a lot to be desired. The biscuits and gravy were disappointing, mostly because of the biscuits but the gravy was cold. In fact there were lots of fluctuating temperatures of the food. My partner's corned beef hash skillet was delish! I highly recommend going narrow with one dish like that vs a platter to try a bit of everything. The prices really added up; it was over $50 for breakfast for 2 (it was a lot of food but still) they do give you one of their new cornbread/pancake mixes if you spend over like $35, so we did leave with a party favor. They have an adorable shop inside too with an assortment of decor, food, baking goods, and gifts. Definitely a fun place to shop for that someone who's hard to buy for around the holidays! read more

I have been to New Hope Mills several times and have always enjoyed the shop and food. The shop has a nice variety of housewares, teas, baking supplies, and of course a huge selection of pancakes mixes. It's a go-to for holiday shopping. Unfortunately, the service has declined in recent months. The last two times we've dined there, our table has been attended to by multiple servers, none of whom have been particularly quick or friendly. We've had to ask for menus, refills on water and for our order to be taken. The food has continued to be great, though was served to us lukewarm on today's visit. While we waited for our table at today, I heard orders being taken over the phone, which I suspect contributed the delays in service. If it is a challenge to keep up with patrons dining in, it might be worth limiting carry out orders to non-peak times. Family favorites here include pancakes and the lunch tacos. Real maple syrup is a definite plus in my book. The sausage gravy with biscuits is also delicious. The prices are reasonable and portions in general are generous. Don't be fooled by the thought of a single pancake, they're huge! read more

Judge Charles Kellogg built a flour mill in 1823, which went through several owners over the next close to 200 years, and came to be known as New Hope Mills. At one time in the 1850's there were 15 water-powered industries along the banks of Bear Swamp Creek. Now only two mills remain as a tribute to New Hope's unique past. You may have seen New Hope Mills products in stores, especially their pancake mix, as it is the number 1 pancake mix in CNY. But, did you know they also have a cafe out in Auburn? I've been meaning to go here for months for breakfast after checking out their menu and my wife and I finally went this weekend. New Hope Mills menu has many breakfast dishes to choose from, from breakfast staples such as their country breakfast, which is pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage and coffee, to more modern offerings with a twist. The wife and I drove out about 9 am on a Saturday morning. It is a huge barn-stylized building, but the cafe itself only has about 10 booths/tables, with their shop taking up the rest of the building. It's a very nice looking place, decorated like a modern country store, with exposed beams and wood accents everywhere. We were sat right away and given our menus. My wife ordered their Country Breakfast with bacon and blueberry pancakes, while I wanted to try something a little wilder, so I went with their Jalapeno Corn Tacos. The tacos were made with pulled BBQ chicken, lettuce, sauteed peppers, onions, cheddar, and cilantro line creme, with jalapeno corn pancakes as the "shell." Our food was made quick enough and brought over. My wife's pancakes were huge, literally the biggest pancakes I've ever actually seen. My tacos were absolutely delicious. There were so many flavors going on with all the different ingredients. They packed the tacos full of chicken and fillings, so while the pancakes gave a great flavor to them, they weren't the sturdiest shells, and I had to knife and fork them. But they were great, and very filling. Our service was friendly and accommodating. They came around regularly to refill my wife's coffee, and while our server forgot my orange juice I ordered, she immediately went and got it and apologized when I asked about it. Two meals and an orange juice came to only $23 before tax, so prices are more than fair. They also have a ton of drinks and fresh smoothies I wanted to try, but I was just too full to get anything more. Next time. We both checked out the store afterwards, which is full of all kinds of different things they make. Pancake mixes, pickles, spices, candles, candies, etc etc. We picked up a bag of pancake mix and a root beer float candle that smelled amazing. Good, fair priced food, nice employees, a quiet, laid back place to have a meal. We'll definitely be back! read more

After waiting for a table for only about 20 minutes on a late Saturday morning, my party was seated and treated very well. Wait staff is lovely and there is an extensive breakfast menu. I was able to try a London fog tea, which I had read about but never had. It was delightful, And served and in a Huge new Hope Mills ceramic mug. It is made with Earl Grey tea, vanilla syrup, milk and lavender. If you are a tea drinker, you must try one. Warning, the pancakes are enormous and come in many varieties. I don't think it humanly possible to eat more than one. The breakfast sandwiches were generous and everyone took home a doggie bag. Menu, service and food all wonderful. I vow to return! The restaurant had a small amount of booths and there is a general store next to the tables. Our waitress was friendly and made us feel welcomed. I ordered sweet potato pancakes with caramel and pecans. The pancakes were huge and fluffy. They tasted great with the drizzle on top. I also got a side of bacon which was nice and crispy. They're known for their pancake mixes but we opted for lunch items once we finally sat down. The waitress was anxious to take our order even though they close at three and we told her it was our first time there. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich with pickles n a cup of coffee and my lunch friend got a burger with fries n a bottle of root beer. we waited a long time for a food. She brought the drinks but the root beer with no glass or ice. The food came out which felt like a half hour or more. Customers that came in after us got their meal before us.. I was just about to ask if she forgot to put our order in when they brought the food. The chicken was good and a good size for the bun but needed more dressing . The burger was cooked good . The. waitress said there were a few home fries in the fries too which didn't sound like a bonus to my friend! I also asked if I might have a warm up on the coffee since we waited so long for our food, I also noticed on the menu they charge a dollar for a glass of water! I'm not into long waits, which I was told the wait was even longer earlier n especially on the weekend. Breakfast is always a great choice but don't sleep on their seasonal salads for lunch or their other non-breakfast menu items. It's all fresh and delicious. Get there early is you want to get a seat, space inside is limited but during summer you can sit in the porch. A late afternoon visit...enjoyed the food very much! it was great! The overall ambiance was warm and welcoming. The service; however, was horrible. Hamburger was hefty and large (1/2#) and the lettuce, onion, tomato, bacon on top was perfect. Very nice presentation. My friend ordered pancakes, and received big fluffy pancakes, more than he could eat. First the waitress forgot butter and syrup and took way too much time to address the need. Then, as we were ready to leave, she was visiting with friends at another table for a very long time and completely ignored my attempts to get a 'take home box' and the bill. Finally, when she did bring the bill, I gave her my credit card to pay the bill. She brought back my cc, with my name on it, then set it down at my friends seat (he walked away from the table) right in front of me. I found it extremely rude she did not hand the card back to me.
