My go to spot for roast meats and congee! Tasty food at great prices. It's no frills, so don't expect great service. There are a few tables if you want to dine in, but it's pretty bare bones. I usually just grab takeout.

This is a seriously solid spot for a quick bowl of congee or wonton noodle soup. We came across this restaurant just by walking past in search of a quick lunch & figured the line of patrons ordering food was an indicator of good eats. We definitely weren't disappointed, placing 4 different orders and receiving the food in record time. The congee was smooth, a great indicator of how long it was boiled for. The flavor was incredible - way better than most I've had, and was the perfect thing to warm us up on a cold winter day. I loved the addition of peanuts to the top, something that many restaurants don't often do. The wonton noodle soup was great as well, and portion sizes for both were pretty large, ensuring you weren't leaving hungry. There isn't much seating at this establishment, so it's definitely more of a take out restaurant. Would definitely return for a warm bowl of congee that's better than I can make myself!

    - Locale Destination - It's in 8th ave and 60th st in Borough Park, Brooklyn. Right close to the subway station, the entrance of Chinatown. Ambiance: typical mom & pop's. No frill. Simple and casual. Menu: breakfast like congee to roasted pork/duck w/rice and noodles. Service: quick, no English, credit cards ok - Gluttony Expedition - Roasted duck: Roasted pork won't be available since the opening time. It'll be served after certain time. So I had only a duck choice in the morning. It's an authentic flavor, big portions, $7.5 for lots of food. Not bad! - Conqueror's Deduction - It's more like 3.5 stars. It's cheap, decent, big portions, and cash only. What not to like?

This restaurant is a family regular as I come to 8th Ave infrequently. This is authentic Cantonese. The decor is barebones as possible. Restroom is only for customers. After you order and pay for your food. Cleaning is self service. This time my family ordered congee and I ordered a sweet fried bread. This is not as frequently as available as the other longer fried dough.

It's a small hole-in-the-wall takeout shop, but there are some seats in the back to dine in. It is not a fancy place, nor do they have the best service, but if you're looking for a fast and more affordable meal, this is the place to stop by. I came here twice and enjoyed the food. Of everything we ordered, I liked the pork belly and congee. The duck was good, but it was on the saltier side.

Came by for lunch the other day and it was a tasty experience. Located within Brooklyn Chinatown, ordering was a chaotic process with the many cutting the queue to order. I guess speaking Cantonese and calling out the order to Auntie is helpful... The restaurant was pretty warm even with the ductless air conditioner turned on. The beef brisket roast duck leg noodle soup was excellent. The beef brisket was very tender and flavorful. The roast duck leg was fragrant and tender. The egg noodles were tasty and the pork broth was light. There are a few tables towards the back of the restaurant for eating on-site. $10 for lunch, cash only.

This restaurant has some of the best congee in all of NYC imho, along with some of the best Cantonese style roast meats (aka Chinese BBQ) as well. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with any of the congees, so I won't bother listing out everything I like (all of them). In regards to the roast meats, quality and taste is second to none, including famous spots like Big Wong in Chinatown. However, depending on the chef cutting up your meats, you could get some weird shapes and cuts. This is the one negative I have with their food. Every time I stop by the area, it is now a foregone conclusion that I will pick up some congee and maybe roast meats. Only question is how much? And usually the answer is way too much. Lol

My go-to for morning breakfast that satisfies my heart and tummy. It serves mainly Cantonese style rice and noodles dishes that I grew up eating as a kid. My favorite is their Sampan Congee (Tan-jai Jook), a combination of seafood and minced meat cooked together in rice porridge. Their porridge is always the right consistency that's perfect with a Fried Dough stick. Breakfast just doesn't get any better than this. Price is decent and gets you full. The wonton noodle soup tastes very similar to what I had in Hong Kong. The only complaint is the ordering process. The front counter is very narrow, customers lines up from the left and right, and just shout out their orders. If you want to give the traditional Canto style cuisine a try: this place might be a good start.

Stumbled upon the most delicious and cheap Cantonese food on 8th Avenue. It doesn't surprise me at the amount of volume. I was coming off a long day of work and I ended up stumbling across Ng's Kitchen, which prior was located in Fei Long food court. Their food has never failed to amaze me as I have tried other restaurants roast meat. I always received dry and untendered meat but at Ng's Kitchen, they have never failed me. There's a reason they always have a line! I ordered my family two duck lo meins and one wonton duck mein. The portion for the price is insane. I genuinely am a huge fan of their breakfast menu with congee and sweet fried bread but at times they are hard to come by since they always sell out super quick. I would not hesitate to recommend to all my fellow friends, family, and co-workers!

Everything came out hot, delicious, and well seasoned. The Dungeness crab was a standout, and it was refreshing to enjoy such a wide variety of seafood and traditional dishes. My wife was pleasantly surprised by the entire meal. The interior was nicely done and felt different from many other Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn. Service was attentive, and they seated us in a corner where we could enjoy our family conversation without constant interruption. The food came out very quickly, maybe a little too quickly, but we were fine with it. They were unfortunately out of a few fish and clam options, as well as several wines, but it did not take away from a great dinner. As a lover of Dim Sum, I start my weekend morning by making the long commute just to get a taste of everything. The spot is constantly bustling with people moving in and out of the restaurant, the waiters running around, the carts strolling to each table, etc. These days, cart services have been decreasing, but it's nice to see that some spots have still kept them around. My rotation always includes the following-har gow, deep-fried noodlefish, shrimp cheong fun (rice noodle roll), zhaliang (fried dough rice noodle roll), chicken feet, and beef tripe-and now more recently, salt and pepper squid. I'm not even joking when I say this, but my mouth was salivating when they placed everything in front of us. Everything was fresh and just so full of flavor. I randomly get reminded of the taste and suddenly crave it again. We also have to thank the wonderful expeditors who would make sure we got everything we wanted. When the salt and pepper squid had run out of the carts, they made sure to request more for our table and got us a fresh, hot, and steaming plate of it. Everything at dimsum might seem very hectic and quick, but when you're sitting down with your family and friends, it can really feel calming. They also give you a choice of tea; we love getting chrysanthemum to wash down the grease from the fried food. There's no wonder people make this a weekly routine; it's just got everything you could need.

This time, we took my in-laws, since we were in Brooklyn, and we don't get to have good dim sum in North Jersey. We came at 12:30 on a Saturday, and it was about a half hour wait. Parking is either street parking or valet, but it's a small lot, so there's usually a line of cars waiting for the valet. We ordered the usual suspects - ha gow, shumai, spare ribs, chicken feet, etc. But this time, my FIL noticed some sort of red rice roll stuffed with ground shrimp and youtiao, that we tried. It was really good, and I don't even normally like youtiao. But it was stuffed with flavorful ground shrimp, which I loved. We also ordered some mei fun, and ho fun with beef gravy. I'm not a huge fan of ho fun with gravy (I prefer the dry stir-fried version), but it came with lots of beef. The portions were also huge, which is another reason my parents like this place because there's always leftovers for the next day. This is definitely our go-to dim sum spot in Brooklyn. I would just come earlier if you don't want to wait.

The chicken wings were pretty standard, I kinda wish there was more pepper on it. It was nice and salty but severely lacked pepper for being a pepper oriented dish. As for the General Tsos? YUM. This was great. The ratio of batter to chicken wasn't bad and it had such a great crisp. The actual General Tso sauce was perfect as well, I could not stop picking at this. The Shrimp Lo Mein was also fantastic, very smoky which I'm a sucker for. The shrimps were perfectly cooked as well and the noodles..... bouncy umami goodness.
