William is an extraordinary tailor! He has the magic touch to make your garment look exceptional and custom fitted. I appreciate his great eye and understanding of menswear and fine details as well. I first visited this tailor a few years ago with a blazer that I had bought overseas. Because of my height, jackets always have to be cut down and made slimmer, and buying off the rack suits is a nightmare because the pants are always way too big in the waist and require a lot of tailoring. William did the most beautiful job on a blazer that I bought in Spain and even added special stitching to the button holes; it has been my favorite jacket ever since. Last week I brought in a new suit and some shirts to take in, and he did the most incredible tailoring job once again. I've had suits tailored in Rome by some of the best tailors my friends recommended, and honestly I think William is better than any of them. The shop is also decorated with antique cameras on display and lots of interesting things to look at. The whole staff is super charming and nice. There's parking in back in a small lot with meters and I believe the shop has a couple of parking spots of their own, but I haven't used them. I give this establishment my highest recommendation as a tailor and also the prices are a good value. Turn around is quick as well. The jackets and suits that I have brought here have always ended up being my favorite and best fitting pieces. read more

I specifically called to ask if they did reweaving and they said yes. I then dropped off two sweaters with small moth holes and made it absolutely clear that I wanted reweaving not stitching. I repeated this several times explaining that reweaving should be invisible and that I did not want stitching under any circumstances since I had already had a bad experience with this elsewhere. They told me they understood and that the work would take two weeks. When I came back I was shocked to find that they had done exactly what I asked them not to do, they stitched the holes. The stitches are obvious to the eye and to the touch yet they insisted it was "reweaving." My sweaters are now ruined and the only way I could get them back was to pay for work I never agreed to. I feel completely cheated and lied to about what services they provide and forced to pay for the exact opposite of what I asked for. On top of that I now have to pay again somewhere else to try and salvage my sweaters. This was a very dishonest and upsetting experience. read more

Taking off the rack to custom , William is the master at making you look stunning!! He's carefully tailoring my new coat to form my body perfectly. He takes his time ensuring every aspect of the coat is form fit. Today he took in the each side, back, sleeves, and Length of sleeves. Can't wait to see the coat ! He works fast and can typically have a mens coat done within 2-3 days. Same for pants. I can't speak for women's clothes but either way , the wait is worth it. read more

Just moved to LA and was in need desperate need of a good and trusted tailor. I had a bridemaids dress that was huge on me and William was able to bring it in and hem the length in a week! When I tried it on I initially thought it was too tight and he was willing to bring it out again with no issues. I tried it one more time just to be sure and turns out I was just wearing it too high lol, the dress fit perfectly! During the pick up I also brought in a skirt that was just a bit too loose hoping to fix it in time before my trip. I found out altering it would've cost more than it was worth so I decided against it. William instead offered to do a quick fix on the spot instead of fully altering it AND didn't charge me for it, so kind of him. William and his wife have been in business for 33 years and are experts at what they do. They're extremely kind and honest, I'll be coming here for all my alterations now! read more

Got my bridesmaid's dress for a wedding tailored here with William. I brought my dress in 2 weeks ago on a Tuesday (9/27) and received the finished product on Wednesday the following week (10/5; he okay'd the timeline with me). The dress was PERFECT and fit like a glove! The price was completely reasonable given the alterations I needed done and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better quality job. I'm a wheelchair user looking for a tailor who can adjust some of the designer jeans I owned before I became a paraplegic to fit me better sitting down. So I browsed Yelp to find a tailor and gave New Look a call. When I briefly explained what I was looking for to the man who answered the phone, he interrupted me with an immediate "no, no, no, no." He then told me "these guys are very busy and they work by the hour so it can get expensive." I told him price was not an issue for me, and he just said again "no, no, no." To clarify, I asked him, "So you guys are just not interested at all in working with a wheelchair user?" He replied, "No, you have to find someone else." And then he hung up on me. Discrimination against disabled people is an unfortunate part of my life, but it's usually more subtle than this. I'm disgusted and will be speaking with my ADA attorney about this. read more

Shockingly bad work. I brought in a new high end sport coat that needed a lot of altering, and it took several repeat efforts to get it right. The sleeve was misaligned, there was a new tear left open along one seam, the bottom was shortened on one side, but not the other, leaving it uneven, the shoulder pad had an indentation, and when redone was worse. This was after William gave me an estimate before the measurements, and then charged me $80 more. And upon the final pick up, they handed me a $1000 coat on a wire hanger. This is an old guy, who might once have been good, and a shop with six laborers in the back doing poor work. Bad experience. read more

The best. I took in a World War One reenactors uniform that was at least a men's 40R and they rebuilt it to fit me, Womens 36R. They took off the sleeves, rebuilt the shoulders, then took in the sleeves and reset them. He took in the rest of the jacket to fit. Somehow, they found extra fabric and patched a hole in the back of the jacket. Then he took in the pants, but first he had to take the knee pads off then perform the alteration and reassemble the pants with the knee pads. It was an insane alteration and I'm very impressed. read more

My mother and I went to William with some pretty tough asks--working with a delicate beaded dress material and a delicate corseted dress that needed the ribbing removed and a portion taken out. He not only took his time to make sure each hem was marked perfectly, but he consulted us before making any decisions (he even had us come in for additional conversations before making executive decisions on our clothing). The dresses came out perfect, and we wouldn't have looked nearly as good without him! Quick and Dirty: They can get the job done in a hurry if you need it, otherwise, look for a couple day turnaround. Pricing is kind of absurd, so make sure you get it up front... Nitty Gritty: I have brought a lot of items here over the last couple of years in bits and pieces and have generally been satisfied with the results. William has a good eye and the work is done clean. The one thing that irks me is the pricing this place has...it seems things are not necessarily set in stone when it comes to pricing. On top of that, the costs are kind of out of control...just to shorten the sleeve length on a tuxedo shirt, they charged me $30!!! My friend had two shirts done and same day service for $35 somewhere nearby, so def make sure you know what you're in for. read more

He also is an insanely talented tailor who clearly knows what he is doing. He took an intricate, three sizes too big bridesmaid dress and transformed it into the perfect fit. My family has been coming to New Look for 5 years now and we are consistently happy with the work William and his staff has done. They are able to do simple stitches very quickly and well, execute complex alterations, and even fix the unfixable for great prices. My family has gone to many different tailors in the LA area and none have given us the service, care, and attention to detail New Look gives us. We live relatively far away, yet we come here because THEY DO NOT DISAPPOINT! William, his wife, and the rest of the staff are all very friendly and are always upfront about stitches and prices.
