Do not bring your clothes here for alterations. Honestly, I wish I could leave a zero star review. Not only did they do a terrible job, but then they refused to fix it. I had brought in a dress for a simple alteration, single layer, easy fabric - yet somehow they managed to make it lopsided and completely off. If you look at the photo, they did like a straight cut in the front and the did the curve in the back (the other photo is at another shop where they are trying to salvage the dress). So then I head in, at my first available opportunity (note: I was headed overseas when I picked up the dress, so I was not able to come in immediately when I noticed the bad job), to see if they would fix it - heck, I brought in several other items with me, hoping that it was a fluke. Anyhow, he refused to take any accountability, wanted to charge me again for fixing the issue he created, and wasn't even remotely apologetic...he actually came out the gate very aggressive. This guy doesn't know what he's doing and lacks communication skills. I dropped off 1 pair of slacks. He said they'll be ready for pick up in 4 days (Saturday) but I have to call him on Saturday to find out what time to pick up. On Saturday I call him and it sounds like I woke him up (it was 11am) and he claims, "I never said Saturday. Im not going to have your slacks ready today". I asked him to kindly get them done because that is the day we agreed on and it's the date he wrote on my ticket for pick up. He said "fine". I spend my Saturday now, waiting around for him to finish the 1 pair of slacks. He's already had them for 4 days and now he needs 4 hours before I can pick them up. When I went to pick up, he was rude. He charged me the full amount $22 (1 pair of pants) even though he was late and didn't believe me when I told him he wrote Saturday pick up on the ticket. I showed him the ticket where he wrote "pick up on Saturday" and he said "oh. I didn't mean to write that". Unprofessional and rude! take your clothes to the place across the street instead. read more

Hector is the tailor here, and Hector is the man. He's got a great eye for fit, is very accurate, does excellent work, and is pretty fast. The cost is consistently reasonable, especially given the attention to detail that he gives. I have brought shirts, pants, and even an entire wool topcoat for alterations. In the case of the topcoat (which is very hard to work with) he rebuilt the shoulders, took in the sleeves and basically did a complete rework to make what was a well-constructed but meh fit off the rack coat look like a fantastic custom piece. Tailors like Hector are hard to find. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

This location is a recently opened additional business location. The location is very convenient since there are many metered parking spots in front of the business. Hector is the store manager. Hector is cordial and remarkably friendly, and he knows all about the latest fashion styles in terms of what is in style and what is out of style. Regardless, Hector will do what you ask him to do since all that he cares about is customer satisfaction My suits no longer fitted due to recent medical conditions. I had to buy a new Michael Kors suit from Macys on a Saturday. I needed to immediately get alterations since I had a trial to attend on the following Monday afternoon. I called this business and Hector told me that he could have the alterations done by 11 pm on Monday if I brought the suit to him right away. This was perfect! Hector told me to immediately bring the suit, which I did on mid Saturday afternoon. The jacket fit very well and that only alterations which had to be performed was to shorten the sleeves. The pants were another story. Even though the pants fit perfectly around my waist, there was no material in the seat which could be let out, or enough material for pant cuffs. So off I went back to Macy's to swap the pants for the next larger waist size which was two inches larger, and then I immediately went back to Hector. He had to shrink the waist by exactly two inches and let out the seat on the pants. Hector told me that cuffs were out of style, yet I told him that for decades I have always had pant cuffs on all of my suits since they serve an important function. I wanted pant cuffs. The larger size of pants had enough material for pant cuffs. When I tried on the pants and the jacket a few minutes after 11 am on Monday, I discovered that Hector had flawlessly performed all of the needed alterations. Hector had taken in the waist by exactly two inches, yet the front of the pants did not puff out when I sat down. This is a common flaw which is made by less experienced tailors. To top it off, Hector had also pressed the new shirt which I had to also buy at Macy's since my neck size had also changed due to medical conditions. I picked up everything, drove home and put it on, and then I headed to the courhouse I received several very nice compliments about my new suit from members of my party while at court on that Monday afternoon. The compliments were about not only my choice for the color of my new blue suit, but also about how well my new suit fit me. A bonus regarding all of the alterations which were performed by Hector is that the total price was very reasonable, especially given the very short time frame for the alterations to not only be done, but also to be done correctly on the first try. read more

I was explaining to him what I wanted to do with the pants, he interrupts in a very rude way saying .."I don't have the time to hear about what do you want, I have lot of work to do is not worth the time for what I make fixing it" ... well that's why you have a taylor shop I thought. Then when he seemed to understand, wants to charge another $15 I said no. Had other two items left them there, he said pick them up on Saturday. Did not go on Saturday I went Tuesday after, then he says I don't have them ready, come back in an hour, I complained so he says you can take them if you want (was planned), of course I took them without been fixed. Edit: quality bad!!! Looking at pants now the seams don't even line up lol I could have done a better job. Called the guy , he's unwilling to make remedies. We are leaving for an event this afternoon and cannot go back and forth to the tailor shop and wait for him to make supposed repairs, we already wasted more time than we could afford to because the tailor didn't finished the pants yesterday as promised. He told me to "post on yelp" all I want, he doesn't care at all. Don't come here unless you want your alterations to be crooked and your money to be taken by a guy who doesn't give a f*** Today I came to pick up a pair pants that were promised to be ready Yestersterday but the guy told me they're not ready! I bought a pair of ankle jeans from The Rack recently and didn't realize that the pant legs were two different heights - WTH?!? Instead of donating them I decided to get them fixed and an so glad I did. I tried them on so they could mark where to fix them and he even noticed that the other hem was also janky and fixed that too. Also brought in my husbands shirt to have the shirt sleeves shortened and two buttons put back on and he did that as well. All of this was done in 2 days and for only $28!!! Hector is an excellent tailor and his prices are very reasonable for the quality work he does. Aside from his skills in workmanship, he's just a super positive and friendly guy. He takes time to chat with you, make sure you're entirely comfortable with the pinning he doe pre-work and makes you feel like a valued customer every time you come in. On top of that he's a young guy and you can talk with him about current styles and how to fit your clothes appropriately. Hector has been my go-to tailor since the day I brought him my first blazer to alter. Since, I've brought chinos, jeans, dress pants, a slew of blazers and suit jackets and pants. I'm planning on bringing him sweaters in the future to prepare for the fall/winter. Hector is hip to modern style; he knows what is in and what isn't. I take his advice to heart and I trust his style and taste. He lets me know if what I want isn't what is best for the garment and/or myself. I'm confident in every single article of clothing I receive back from Hector. Although he may not be the cheapest tailor in Los Angeles, he is one of the most knowledgeable and personable. I'd pay the premium to see Hector and to work with him on an almost weekly basis. I buy items of clothing with the intent of sending them to Hector so he can tailor them exactly for me. If anyone has any hesitation on leaving their garments with Hector, please don't. The latest string of negative reviews were likely rare exceptions to his exceptional service. Came in to get easy repairs on 3 items of clothing, my items were not ready on my pickup date, came back a second time and all of my items were hanging in plastic as if they were done, when I went to pay - I decided to check them items, none had been repaired at all. Completely ruined brand new Gucci blouse with the worst sleeve alterations I have ever seen. Blouse went in with 5 buttons on each sleeve and came out with only 3. Apparently he assumed we just wanted the cheap fix alteration that "most customers are happy with". I can't see any customer being happy with this ham fisted work. Avoid if you can. Two times I dropped off clothes for tailoring and dry cleaning, and both times Hector has let me down. One occasion, he told me the wrong prices and inaccurate pick up time. I'm forgiving with the pick up time because there was a holiday and he did call to tell me beforehand, but don't mouth off promises you can't deliver on. The other occasion, he straight up forgot to work on my clothes! And when it was finally ready, he again forgot to work on another part of the tailoring! I'm all for supporting local Mom & Pop shops, but dude needs to get his act together. 2 stars for a decent tailoring and cleaning job. But for his prices, you're better off with someone else in MDR. read more
