Alwani is a savior. I had 3 custom tailored outfits arrive one month before my friend's wedding and not a single thing fit. Alwani was able to get everything tailored in time for the wedding. An especially impressive feat was Alwani completely opening up a jacket and extending it by hand to get 3 more inches. I would definitely recommend Alwani to anyone needing tailoring and alterations. Thanks Alwani!

Shameful work, how can this guy call himself a tailor?

You couldn't pay me to come back here for any reason. Absolutely destroyed my favorite jacket, promised it on June 17th, kept me waiting for an additional 5 weeks until today, July 22nd. I wanted to support a small business in my neighborhood. One excuse after another, the manners and friendliness disappeared when I stated I'd be paying with store credit (from a prior job he never got around to but refused to refund me for). For that prior situation, even though he performed no work, his reasoning regarding a refund was, ''Sorry, I cannot refund you. Woosh, the money is already gone.'' Must have made my jacket and pants zero-priority when he realized he wouldn't be making fresh profit from the job. For $50 dollars and 6 weeks total of waiting, you can see what was done to the jacket. Make your own observations, and if you think this looks like a tailor did it, feel free to risk him with your items & business. I wish I could wear it with the holes in it again, but I'll have to donate the jacket now, originally retailing for $130. His defense? ''This is how he does patch work for 1000's of customers, etc., etc.'' How could someone in good conscience return a customer's items in this condition? I'm disgusted. For me, the experience was dishonest, furthest thing imaginable from what was promised. I have major regrets, and I'll be discarding my remaining store credit. It's a real shame. You've been warned.

    Prom dress

I am so grateful to know and work with the incredible and talented Mr. Alwani. I go to him every time I need alterations but this last piece was a masterpiece. He took a thrifted pink weeding dress my daughter picked out and he converted it into a Cinderella prom dress. No one else could have done that but him. It turned out so beautiful and he treated my daughter like a princess and he made her dress just that... a princess. Thanks you so much!!!!

Before - Couldn't button up this blouse
    Grace L.

Let me start off by saying that this review is long overdue and I sincerely apologize for that. I was a bridesmaid for my friend's wedding last summer. She had her bridesmaids take measurements and sent them to India for these beautiful custom-made lehenga cholis (blouse and skirt); however, we had not taken shoulder measurements. Now, this probably wouldn't be a problem (it wasn't for the other bridesmaids), but it turns out that I have wider than average shoulders relative to the rest of my measurements. My heart sank when I tried to put on the blouse and could only button up the lowest button.. I searched Yelp to see if I could find a tailor who specialized in Indian dresses. I tried two other stores who told me they couldn't do anything about this situation before finally coming across Mr. Alwani's shop. I walked into the store and was greeted warmly by Mr. Alwani. I explained my situation to him and asked him if there was anything that he could do. Mr. Alwani kindly explained to me that this would be a really big project but that he thought he could take on the challenge. Since my shoulders were about 3 inches wider than the shoulders on the blouse and the bust of the blouse was about 2 inches higher than mine, he would need to take apart the entire blouse and reassemble it to my measurements. He conservatively explained to me that he may need to change the design of the back and that it would take several weeks. I asked him to go ahead and do it. There was no way I could wear the blouse in its current state. About 2 weeks before the due date, Mr. Alwani asked me to come in for a fitting. To my astonishment, he was able to keep the original design of the back! The bust and shoulders now fit and I was able to button up the back entirely. It was a bit snug, but that was to be expected since he had to add on about 3 inches to the original size of the blouse. Throughout this whole project, Mr. Alwani remained completely professional and his price was extremely reasonable (in fact, it was much lower than I thought it would be for the amount of work he put into it). I also brought in the rest of the outfit and my fiance's outfit to be pressed and that came out perfectly. I am so grateful to Mr. Alwani for saving my friend's wedding and I highly recommend his services. He's clearly talented and the customer service is excellent.

Aziz Alwani tried to hide mistakes that he made on brand new custom pants. DO NOT USE ALWANI.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE!!!! Alziz Alwani is a liar and a crook! He pretends to be a tailor but does none of the work himself and sub contracts all of the work to someone else- he is a middle man. I lost $3,000. dealing with him. I hired him to custom build suits and they turned out to fit so bad they are unwearable. I had to take my entire order to another tailor to be salvaged, but once a suit is built wrong from the beginning it will never fit correctly. The most costly mistake I've ever made was to walk into his shop- I deeply regret dealing with this con artist. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! DO NOT USE AZIZ ALWANI.

I have no training in seeing and could've done a better job on these seams myself. So much bunching!
    Alexandra S.

Really expensive. Took more than two weeks to complete. Not worth the time or the money. Alwani is a very nice man but the seams on every single dress were uneven and bumpy. When I pointed this out to him, he said it would only require some ironing. I reluctantly took his advice because he was so adamant about it and seemed offended at this slight against his craftsmanship. Needless to say, the ironing did nothing to fix his poor tailoring. I am now out $200 plus all the money I spent on the garments in the first place. I can't even take them to a new tailor because the seams have been all but ruined. Garbage now.

    Corey V.

I have never had to use a tailor to alter a dress before and I didn't even know where to begin. AND THIS WAS A VERY IMPORTANT DRESS FOR A VERY IMPORTANT OCCASION. My best friends wedding!! I had less than two weeks and I was so worried I wouldn't have it in time. WRONG! This dress was so tricky, but we joined forces and minds and the dress could not have turned out ANY MORE PERFECT!!!! You literally could not even tell that it was altered AT ALL. Alwani is a magician and I will definitely be coming back again!!!! Thank you for saving the day!!!! (We had to add fabric - approx. 6 inches total) and you would never have known!!! I was speechless and got so many compliments! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

tailored perfectly and just in time!

Let me preface by saying "I don't do cardio" - I don't run and I most definitely don't spin. I've…read moretried it in the past a various different studios, big chains, smaller neighborhood ones, even ones like Barre Cycle or Yoga Cycle where you split the workout. By this point I felt like I gave it enough chances and it just wasn't for me. And that's ok. *Enter BeSpoke* I chose to try this studio because I work nearby and if you're like me, once I get home from work, I probably am not going to leave again to be active. Sign up was easy (online) as well as check in once you actually got to the studio. I don't know what I'm doing so I asked for him to set up my bike and even to clip in the shoes and the person at the desk that day (sorry I don't remember your name!) was super helpful. Class at any new studio, especially a workout you don't normally do, is intimidating, but I made it through my first class. And then my second class. And then after that I thought my office would enjoy the torture, err I mean cycling, so I ended up booking a private class! OMG TATYANA WAS THE MOST AMAZING HUMAN BEING. She helped me with every detail and made us feel extremely welcome the day of the class. She even had some refreshments for us! So sweet. Ok basically what I'm trying to say is GO TO THIS STUDIO. Even if you don't cardio or spin, give it a shot! All of the instructors I've taken so far have been great, Lynsey and Orlando to name a couple. I feel stronger and more confident only after a few classes. I don't do all the "moves" just what I can and I still have fun and get a great workout. The studio is located at Fig&7th, bottom level near the food court and across from Gold's. They have cubbies for your shoes and lockers in the restroom (this can get crowded for the after work people just FYI). They even have showers and some toiletries. I should mention that shoe rental is included as well as a sweat towel. They also have a water filling station or water for purchase if needed. No excuses! Super grateful to have had a really nice experience here and open up my mind!!! I guess I do cardio now ;)

I've taken a few different classes here now and i've loved all of them!…read more First of all, the facilities are great. They're clean, well maintained, and have tons of amenities. The best part is THEY HAVE TOWELS. When you go into the bike room every single bike already has a clean rolled up towel on it for you to use during class, and when you leave the room there's a basket of moist cool towels to wipe down with, and in the shower there's clean shower towels to use if you want to shower. If you've never taken a spin class before, you will sweat and you will sweat A LOT, so having towel service and not have to bring your own towels every single class is a HUGE bonus. Especially if you're coming often, if you had to bring your own towels every time you'll be constantly doing laundry just to wash your towels. The restroom/locker rooms have everything you need, including showers fully stocked with soap, shampoo, and conditioner, and by the sink there's deodorant, lotion, and other toiletries you might want to use. Secondly, they rent out cycling shoes included with the class! Here's the amazing part: after you've taken your first class, they remember your shoe size and the next time you sign up for a class they'll have your shoes waiting for you in the little numbered cubbies by the front desk when you get there! So you just show up and see what bike number you are and your shoes will be in the cubby that correlates with your bike number. Lastly, the spin instruction is great! The classes are super high energy and motivating and an amazing workout. They incorporate various positions on the bike as well as an arms workout using some light weights, so even though you're technically taking a spin class you're getting a full body workout. For those who have taken a spin class before but at a 24 hour fitness or something, this something entirely different. This place is also great if you're new because at the beginning of every class they actually have an assistant come into the room and help you get set up on your bike. Every segment of the class is set to music that correlates with the bike riding, as well as lighting in the room. It really is a whole experience and the time really flies by even while you're getting an amazing workout. For those who have taken Soul Cycle, I'd say this is very comparable though the facilities are not as nice as a soul cycle. All of the teachers I've taken are great but I have to make a mention of OT, who teaches the Thursday evening 6:30pm class. I was blown away by her energy and enthusiasm and motivation. Like I literally felt like I was riding into battle with her leading the charge and I felt so pumped up both physically and emotionally. She also had an amazing playlist. Lastly, the front desk staff are friendly and helpful, and THEY VALIDATE PARKING. The facility is on the first floor of Fig @ 7th across from the gold's gym. The only thing I don't like about the studio is that the music is a bit on the loud side. They have a free jar of earplugs right before you go into the spin room so there's always that option if it's too loud.

Tl;dr: If you have a thing for clothes and want to experience the "best of the best" (in every…read moreregard), Jerry and Ivan at JB Clothiers are the guys to see. Period. From the first call to the final fitting - and their post-delivery followup - every aspect of my experience with them was aces. In too much detail: Absolutely fantastic in every regard - JBC isn't merely the finest tailoring Los Angeles has to offer - it's literally a "Destination Clothier." This is going to be a long review - but then again I had a really wonderful experience, and in so many ways, that I can't sum it up quickly. Personal background - I have 25 years' experience selling exotic cars to very high net worth clientele in Los Angeles, and I am very aware of a what a luxury experience looks and feels like. So I sort of walked in the door "loaded for bear." My other experiences had the veneer of luxury, but not the substance of luxury nor the quality of product. A glass of wine doesn't overcome the fact that the end result is a disappointment. Anyway - I could no longer find clothes "on the rack" that were made of fabrics I wanted (sport coats and suits in particular). I had tried two "made to measure" clothing stores (Suit Supply and Indochino) and been disappointed with the results, so I searched for a literal in-Los Angeles custom tailoring service (where I could consult *directly* with the tailor - not just an on-site rep for a tailor half a world away). After much deliberation, I made an appointment with JB. I must admit I was somewhat skeptical by this point, when I arrived for my first consult, even after all my investigation. The feel of JB Clothiers is EXACTLY what I was hoping to find when I walked in for my first consult. After meeting Jerry (the founder/proprietor) and his partner Ivan, I had great confidence that my research had paid off. The conversation about what I was looking for and how they could achieve it was quite in-depth (and I actually learned a few things about my taste). Jerry and Ivan suggested subtle ways of "expanding my taste envelope" while still well within my taste bandwidth. There are myriad choices to make - and with each one I was getting more excited to see the end result. The measuring process was thorough and precise, having me adopt different postures and re-measuring many times. I was there for the better part of an hour. About a month later, Jerry called to set up the first fitting appointment. I about died when I saw my coat for the first time. It's gorgeous and not so much a coat, as a garment, I think. The details are exquisite - and they are everywhere, beyond the special embroidery you'll be offered. It is quite literally a work of art. We tried it on, and made various adjustments, and I left not sure I'd be able to wait until it came back. Long story about how I Dunning-Kreuger'd the first alterations, which were literally put back on the 2d fitting. Sorry I wasted your time, guys. But by this time, I was so hooked on both the product and the experience, that I added a matching pair of slacks to the coat, turning it into a 2-Piece Suit. Going back the third time, I picked up the pants - they are not only gorgeous with the same attention to detail as the coat, but they fit me unlike any pants I have ever owned IN MY LIFE. They are utterly incredible. Fantastic! At the last fitting all of this was immediately and obviously worth every penny and every second of time. And admittedly, I'd added considerably to the time by the alterations I thought I wanted in the first fitting. I have tried this suit on with nearly every shirt/tie combo I can put together - it it so wonderful! This experience was very much a splurge for me - and I plan to do it again as soon as I can. Yes - I spent about 50% more than I would have for a Canali suit off the rack. But I got 5x the suit as a result. I'll never again waste money on clothing - what JB made for me is a lifetime investment, and no clothes I've ever had fit that description. Really not sure how to better convey my enthusiasm than to say I can't wait for the next time I decide to tread myself and add to my wardrobe. At the end of the day, the expenditure at JB will actually saved me in the long run - no more wasted money on clothes that are sorta "close enough" but never right. And no more wasted time trying to find them, either. Did I mention I love this suit? I love this suit! And I had a total blast along the way! Thanks guys!

This place is nice but maybe a little overrated…read more Jerry's not a bad guy and probably not a bad salesman. I thought I was coming in for a consultation, and I liked the fabrics and patterns we came up with, but he was disappointed that I was not ready to throw down $4,000 for the custom suit that day. (He convinced me that anything cheaper in his shop wasn't worth my time.) I can see why he likes to close the deal the day of. The more I thought about it, the less comfortable I felt throwing down than much for this suit... I had a few other reasons, too. Anyway, I sent a message to the store the next day, politely explaining why that I appreciated Jerry's time, but the shop wasn't for me. Jerry ended up calling me, and I wish I hadn't answered. He started trying to get me to get his cheaper stuff that had already talked me out of. He was pushy, dismissive of my reasons and all around unpleasant. I think they have some off the-rack suits available, too, and I believe they offer tailoring, but I am no longer interested. He'll probably respond to this and be dismissive again, but those are my two cents. He has a nice assistant. I won't pretend it's bad quality. Still three stars.

Sadly, most of the items were damaged, including very simple tasks such as shortening T-shirts -- which were also done poorly. What made the experience worse was the lack of accountability: no apology, no professionalism, and an overall rude attitude from both the tailor and the staff. The focus seemed purely financial, with no respect for the client or the garments. The team appears inexperienced, lacking both the technical skills and the understanding that tailoring and design are crafts that require taste, care, and respectful communication -- not just tools and prices. I strongly do not recommend bringing valuable pieces here for alterations, and I would not advise learning or training with them either. Design is an art, and customer service is part of that art -- unfortunately, both are missing here.
