Alwani is a savior. I had 3 custom tailored outfits arrive one month before my friend's wedding and not a single thing fit. Alwani was able to get everything tailored in time for the wedding. An especially impressive feat was Alwani completely opening up a jacket and extending it by hand to get 3 more inches. I would definitely recommend Alwani to anyone needing tailoring and alterations. Thanks Alwani!

Shameful work, how can this guy call himself a tailor?
    Omar F.

You couldn't pay me to come back here for any reason. Absolutely destroyed my favorite jacket, promised it on June 17th, kept me waiting for an additional 5 weeks until today, July 22nd. I wanted to support a small business in my neighborhood. One excuse after another, the manners and friendliness disappeared when I stated I'd be paying with store credit (from a prior job he never got around to but refused to refund me for). For that prior situation, even though he performed no work, his reasoning regarding a refund was, ''Sorry, I cannot refund you. Woosh, the money is already gone.'' Must have made my jacket and pants zero-priority when he realized he wouldn't be making fresh profit from the job. For $50 dollars and 6 weeks total of waiting, you can see what was done to the jacket. Make your own observations, and if you think this looks like a tailor did it, feel free to risk him with your items & business. I wish I could wear it with the holes in it again, but I'll have to donate the jacket now, originally retailing for $130. His defense? ''This is how he does patch work for 1000's of customers, etc., etc.'' How could someone in good conscience return a customer's items in this condition? I'm disgusted. For me, the experience was dishonest, furthest thing imaginable from what was promised. I have major regrets, and I'll be discarding my remaining store credit. It's a real shame. You've been warned.

    Prom dress

I am so grateful to know and work with the incredible and talented Mr. Alwani. I go to him every time I need alterations but this last piece was a masterpiece. He took a thrifted pink weeding dress my daughter picked out and he converted it into a Cinderella prom dress. No one else could have done that but him. It turned out so beautiful and he treated my daughter like a princess and he made her dress just that... a princess. Thanks you so much!!!!

Before - Couldn't button up this blouse
    Grace L.

Let me start off by saying that this review is long overdue and I sincerely apologize for that. I was a bridesmaid for my friend's wedding last summer. She had her bridesmaids take measurements and sent them to India for these beautiful custom-made lehenga cholis (blouse and skirt); however, we had not taken shoulder measurements. Now, this probably wouldn't be a problem (it wasn't for the other bridesmaids), but it turns out that I have wider than average shoulders relative to the rest of my measurements. My heart sank when I tried to put on the blouse and could only button up the lowest button.. I searched Yelp to see if I could find a tailor who specialized in Indian dresses. I tried two other stores who told me they couldn't do anything about this situation before finally coming across Mr. Alwani's shop. I walked into the store and was greeted warmly by Mr. Alwani. I explained my situation to him and asked him if there was anything that he could do. Mr. Alwani kindly explained to me that this would be a really big project but that he thought he could take on the challenge. Since my shoulders were about 3 inches wider than the shoulders on the blouse and the bust of the blouse was about 2 inches higher than mine, he would need to take apart the entire blouse and reassemble it to my measurements. He conservatively explained to me that he may need to change the design of the back and that it would take several weeks. I asked him to go ahead and do it. There was no way I could wear the blouse in its current state. About 2 weeks before the due date, Mr. Alwani asked me to come in for a fitting. To my astonishment, he was able to keep the original design of the back! The bust and shoulders now fit and I was able to button up the back entirely. It was a bit snug, but that was to be expected since he had to add on about 3 inches to the original size of the blouse. Throughout this whole project, Mr. Alwani remained completely professional and his price was extremely reasonable (in fact, it was much lower than I thought it would be for the amount of work he put into it). I also brought in the rest of the outfit and my fiance's outfit to be pressed and that came out perfectly. I am so grateful to Mr. Alwani for saving my friend's wedding and I highly recommend his services. He's clearly talented and the customer service is excellent.

Aziz Alwani tried to hide mistakes that he made on brand new custom pants. DO NOT USE ALWANI.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE!!!! Alziz Alwani is a liar and a crook! He pretends to be a tailor but does none of the work himself and sub contracts all of the work to someone else- he is a middle man. I lost $3,000. dealing with him. I hired him to custom build suits and they turned out to fit so bad they are unwearable. I had to take my entire order to another tailor to be salvaged, but once a suit is built wrong from the beginning it will never fit correctly. The most costly mistake I've ever made was to walk into his shop- I deeply regret dealing with this con artist. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! DO NOT USE AZIZ ALWANI.

I have no training in seeing and could've done a better job on these seams myself. So much bunching!
    Alexandra S.

Really expensive. Took more than two weeks to complete. Not worth the time or the money. Alwani is a very nice man but the seams on every single dress were uneven and bumpy. When I pointed this out to him, he said it would only require some ironing. I reluctantly took his advice because he was so adamant about it and seemed offended at this slight against his craftsmanship. Needless to say, the ironing did nothing to fix his poor tailoring. I am now out $200 plus all the money I spent on the garments in the first place. I can't even take them to a new tailor because the seams have been all but ruined. Garbage now.

I have never had to use a tailor to alter a dress before and I didn't even know where to begin. AND THIS WAS A VERY IMPORTANT DRESS FOR A VERY IMPORTANT OCCASION. My best friends wedding!! I had less than two weeks and I was so worried I wouldn't have it in time. WRONG! This dress was so tricky, but we joined forces and minds and the dress could not have turned out ANY MORE PERFECT!!!! You literally could not even tell that it was altered AT ALL. Alwani is a magician and I will definitely be coming back again!!!! Thank you for saving the day!!!! (We had to add fabric - approx. 6 inches total) and you would never have known!!! I was speechless and got so many compliments! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

tailored perfectly and just in time!

By this point I felt like I gave it enough chances and it just wasn't for me. And that's ok. *Enter BeSpoke* I chose to try this studio because I work nearby and if you're like me, once I get home from work, I probably am not going to leave again to be active. Sign up was easy (online) as well as check in once you actually got to the studio. I don't know what I'm doing so I asked for him to set up my bike and even to clip in the shoes and the person at the desk that day (sorry I don't remember your name!) was super helpful. Class at any new studio, especially a workout you don't normally do, is intimidating, but I made it through my first class. And then my second class. And then after that I thought my office would enjoy the torture, err I mean cycling, so I ended up booking a private class! OMG TATYANA WAS THE MOST AMAZING HUMAN BEING. She helped me with every detail and made us feel extremely welcome the day of the class. She even had some refreshments for us! So sweet. Ok basically what I'm trying to say is GO TO THIS STUDIO. Even if you don't cardio or spin, give it a shot! All of the instructors I've taken so far have been great, Lynsey and Orlando to name a couple. I feel stronger and more confident only after a few classes. I don't do all the "moves" just what I can and I still have fun and get a great workout. The studio is located at Fig&7th, bottom level near the food court and across from Gold's. They have cubbies for your shoes and lockers in the restroom (this can get crowded for the after work people just FYI). They even have showers and some toiletries. I should mention that shoe rental is included as well as a sweat towel. They also have a water filling station or water for purchase if needed. No excuses! Super grateful to have had a really nice experience here and open up my mind!!! I guess I do cardio now ;)

Sadly, most of the items were damaged, including very simple tasks such as shortening T-shirts -- which were also done poorly. What made the experience worse was the lack of accountability: no apology, no professionalism, and an overall rude attitude from both the tailor and the staff. The focus seemed purely financial, with no respect for the client or the garments. The team appears inexperienced, lacking both the technical skills and the understanding that tailoring and design are crafts that require taste, care, and respectful communication -- not just tools and prices. I strongly do not recommend bringing valuable pieces here for alterations, and I would not advise learning or training with them either. My friend Sylvia talked me into getting fitted for custom suits…read more For context, this is extremely out of character for me. I buy my suits from Banana Republic Factory Outlet and Nordstrom's Rack. They don't fit off the rack because I have a long torso and stubby legs so I usually have to get the pants hemmed at the cleaners. I'd say all in, the most I have spent is a few hundred bucks on a suit. I scoffed at the idea of custom suits because I'm doing just fine off the rack. Yes, the pants are loose in the waist and a smidge tight in the thighs, but I endure this because it's always been my plight. Sylvia convinced me that custom suits would be life-changing. I love and trust my friend Sylvia on most matters -- but this was not one of them. I'm in my fiftieth year and most of my life altering (see what I did there) moments are behind me. Sylvia and I were in LA together speaking at a conference and it just so happens her suit designer is in the LA area. So I acquiesced and went for a fitting at Rocky's Custom Clothes. First of all, I had absolutely no concept of the decisions I would have to make during this fitting. How do you like your collar style? What buttons would you like? How do you prefer the cut of your suit? Jacket length? Jacket style? Pant style? The list goes on but I'm exhausted typing it. After I picked out the foundational basics, we moved on to colors and patterns. Sapna (the designer) brought out books and books of fabrics and I had to choose the suit patterns, liners, and the trim for my shirts. This is not for the faint of heart. I'm pretty decisive but there are thousands of patterns and colors and at one point, I walked away and stress ate 7 toffee candies from the bowl in the shop. Fortunately, Sapna is an expert because she seamlessly (see what I did there) narrowed down my choices to a few so I wasn't overwhelmed. Her picks were perfectly coordinated. I settled on 3 suits, a blazer, and a pair of pants to match the blazer (for a more casual vibe). I flew back to LA to for the final fitting and made sure I told everyone that I was flying to LA for my custom suit fitting because that made me sound like a baller. Or a douchebag. Either way, I literally flew to LA for my custom suit fitting (squeezed in one more for effect.) When I walked into Rocky's, Sapna had one of my suits ready for me. It was like opening a present on Christmas morning because I couldn't recall what patterns we settled on during the original fitting because I was too exhausted from making decisions and eating toffee to take pictures. When I saw my suit, it was instant love. All the fabrics, linings, and trim came together in one glorious garment. I tried it on and it fit like slippery butter. All the years I fit into my suits were replaced by the suits fitting me. There is a big difference in that sentence. It's like fitting in versus belonging. Fitting in requires you to adapt while belonging is being perfectly you. I opened the jacket to see my very own name embroidered in the lining and I almost cried. The only downside to this is that I will probably stop strangers and open my suit coat to show them my name stitched in the lining. If you are on the receiving end of this, please don't press charges. Sylvia was right. Getting custom suits was life-changing -- but not because they fit great or because they are cool. They do and they are. Rather, it's about worthiness. I feel genuinely worthy of wearing a suit that makes me feel like I own the stage of my life. Thank you Sapna and Rocky's.

First off let me tell you that she is very deceiving. She won't answer questions over the phone which pretty much forces you to drive all the way to LA! I drove two Hours to meet with her only for her to tell me that she only speaks with people for free for the first 10 minutes... after that she charges $50 every 30 minutes cause she expects you to know what you want. Which is crazy cause that's the point of her being a pattern maker!!! In addition to that when we spoke on the phone I made it clear that we were designing hoodies and would bring 4 different styles for reference which she agreed to and said that was a good idea. So when we start showing her the hoodies (which over the phone she said are very simple to make) she starts telling us we need 3 different styles because her minimum to order is $500. She then proceeds to say, that it's too complicated and that it's going to be too expensive for us, when we made it clear that money wasn't the issue. She then said I can't do this it's too complicated. But yet she's the one that said hoodies were very easy and her flat rate was $180 so because it was such a small amount she expected us to order 3 once again we said ok. But then SHE decides that it's to expensive for US because each step would have a fee and it was going to get expensive and stands up and walked us straight out of her room and said maybe find someone else. I was so taken back by this and I told her this was very unprofessional of her. I told her I drove two hours for her to do this to us and I was very disappointed How she was behaving. Specially since I went with high expectations because I was referred to her by a friend who is a well know designer so I was excited. I had to call my friend and my friend was so embarrassed and apologized so much and said she would never refer anyone to her again. I would never recommend her and I usually don't do this but she really was just very unprofessional and the way she treated us was just very rude and seemed like she was just not willing to make a pattern for high end street clothing designs and much less for the people bringing it in.
