They also quoted me about 1/3 of what an experienced, luxury wedding dress alterations specialist quoted me. I had one large loose…read morecotton shirt to be copied and remade exactly as it was. i did say the top button could be left off. and i had two long dresses to be hemmed. one came out perfectly and the other was an eyelet hem that had to be taken off and replaced at the correct length and with the side slits to remain the same length as originally. The hemmed eyelet dress is 1-1/2 inches too short on one side and is lopsided. The shirt being copied came back with plastic snaps instead of buttons. i asked for those to be replaced with buttons. the tailor asked for two extra days to redo and i gave him four extra days. This afternoon i went to pick up and was told they were waiting for buttons they ordered. three 1/2" white buttons and buttonholes could not be put in over 4 days??? !!! What a waste of $300+ If someone had called me to explain it would have helped.

I repeated this several times explaining that reweaving should be invisible and that I did not want stitching under any circumstances since I had already had a bad experience with this elsewhere. They told me they understood and that the work would take two weeks. When I came back I was shocked to find that they had done exactly what I asked them not to do, they stitched the holes. The stitches are obvious to the eye and to the touch yet they insisted it was "reweaving." My sweaters are now ruined and the only way I could get them back was to pay for work I never agreed to. I feel completely cheated and lied to about what services they provide and forced to pay for the exact opposite of what I asked for. On top of that I now have to pay again somewhere else to try and salvage my sweaters. This was a very dishonest and upsetting experience.

I appreciate his great eye and understanding of menswear and fine details as well. I first visited this tailor a few years ago with a blazer that I had bought overseas. Because of my height, jackets always have to be cut down and made slimmer, and buying off the rack suits is a nightmare because the pants are always way too big in the waist and require a lot of tailoring. William did the most beautiful job on a blazer that I bought in Spain and even added special stitching to the button holes; it has been my favorite jacket ever since. Last week I brought in a new suit and some shirts to take in, and he did the most incredible tailoring job once again. I've had suits tailored in Rome by some of the best tailors my friends recommended, and honestly I think William is better than any of them. The shop is also decorated with antique cameras on display and lots of interesting things to look at. The whole staff is super charming and nice. There's parking in back in a small lot with meters and I believe the shop has a couple of parking spots of their own, but I haven't used them. I give this establishment my highest recommendation as a tailor and also the prices are a good value. Turn around is quick as well. The jackets and suits that I have brought here have always ended up being my favorite and best fitting pieces.

Jose was not fazed at all by some draping that goes all the way to the bottom of the dress. The shoulders were cleanly altered and the length was just right. The space is clean and organized. Both the drop-off/measuring and pick-up were efficient. The alterations cost $125, which seems on par with other places I have been before. They prefer Zelle but were willing to accept credit card. I was not in a hurry. He scheduled my pick-up for just over 3 weeks from the consultation, and it was completed as scheduled. There is some metered parking out front, and street parking around the corner.

Stretched out button holes, it had become incapable of keeping him snug, cozy. $8 per to tighten them = snug, cozy. I truly would have messed up this repair. ALL items cleaned with care, packaged appropriately ready to be worn this coming fall/winter. Short term drop-off/pick-up parking at entrance off of Westwood Boulevard and Holman Avenue. We usually walk to Sterling Cleaners for drop-off but pick-up via our car(s). Made the mistake at pick-up by parking in an employee only zone. Fortunately, thanks to efficient staff, I was only in an employee's space for mere minutes. Whew! Check-in on Yelp but there's no longer a discount along with it. When I mentioned this we were given a 25% off neighborhood courtesy. Sterling Cleaners now prefers a Google review but I'm gonna stick with Yelp.

I could gripe about them not getting it right the first time but from my experience, a dry cleaner who's willing to wash your clothes again at no extra charge is not always a guarantee. So this place gets props for that. Price is also not bad. If I still lived in Ocean Park or if I moved back there, I wouldn't hesitate to come here for my dry cleaning needs.
