Artsy joint with some really good food! A short walk from the Marriott. Got the grit bowl "Augusta style" and a coffee. Interior feels a bit piecemealed but comfortable. Nice outside shaded seating area with fans. Very friendly service. Bookstore right next door if you need something to read while you eat! read more

The Green Monster smoothie today was a relegation. Whoever thought to add peanut butter is a mad genius.

I went there for breakfast. I ordered a simple bacon on egg on a roll, but they told me the ran out of rolls. So I said plain bagel. They ran out of that too. This was at 10:00AM. Finally I got an everything bagel with the bacon and egg. The customer service wasn't great. They ran out of the regular coffee, only the flavored ones were there. And when the food came out, it didn't taste good. It was edible but it tasted bland. The food wasn't that cheap either. I don't recommend this place. read more

While the building had very little AC, the heat and wait in line were very much worth it. I ordered their Nitro Cold Brew while my girlfriend had their Apple Chai. Both drinks were very good and well rounded. Prices are comparable to Starbucks, but the quality was much better overall. They roast their beans locally while supporting their local economy as well. Stopped by New Moon to grab what I thought would be a quick breakfast before heading to work but was greeted by a super long line. Wasn't too surprised considering it was a Sunday and downtown Augusta is relative quiet. When I got to the counter I ordered and the guy taking my order was pleasant. I waited about 15 minutes on my bagel, fruit parfait and smoothie. All the employees seemed as nice as they could be considering how busy the place was. The only negatives would be the long line. I think they could have opened up a secondary register. My coworker was pleased with her bagel and I thoroughly enjoyed my smoothie! read more

From ordering to receiving the food, the experience varied for my first visit here. The restaurant is located in a cute nook on Broad street across from a book store. The cashier was absolutely wonderful - his knowledge about the menu was extensive and he took the time to answer my party's questions. I ordered a drink while waiting for our food order to go. Unfortunately, the food took about half an hour to prepare 2 bagels, a veggie and egg quesadilla, and 2 lumberjack breakfasts (sausage, egg, and toast). We saw the people in the back struggling to remember who the order was for, so I went up to the counter and they just handed it to me. I would have expected them to call out our name or order number to let us know. Before we left, we counted and looked inside the boxes to make sure everything was there (it was). However, after we got home and started eating we realized a key ingredient was missing in one of the dishes - the egg was missing in the veggie and egg quesadilla. Overall the taste was delicious, but I would have to go back to see if the length of time to receive food and order accuracy was a one-off. read more

I've never actually eaten food here, so this review is based solely on drinks. The coffee here is fantastic. I've never been let down by anything I've ordered. Took my mom here when she was in town and she really liked the white chocolate mocha (and she and I both usually just drink it black, so that's saying something!), and I've enjoyed both their regular coffees and lattes. Love that they have a couple of choices of non-dairy milk. Also, it's just a really nice place! If I had time to lounge in a cafe for a while, I'd love to come here and hang out and try a bite of the food. read more

This is my first time dining at New Moon Cafe since they moved to the J. B. Whites Building. I really like it. The space is larger and attractive. They have the same great menu items. I can't really pinpoint New Moon Cafe's specialty, but everything I've ever tried is good. I ordered the Boss Lady's Chicken Salad on a croissant and I loved it. New Moon Cafe offers coffee, smoothies, pastries, breakfast and lunch food. However, the pastries also known as the "Scratch Bakery" items are my favorite. I love all the cookies. Try them, they're phenomenal. I also just learned that the cookies can be purchased by the dozen. #Winning. This is one of my top spots for lunch if I'm in the downtown Augusta area. I like the laid back atmosphere. They also offer FREE Wi-Fi. Depending on the time of day, you can get a lot accomplished without too much distraction. The outdoor dining area is great rain or shine! On my next few visits, I plan on trying the coffee and smoothies. read more

I usually love it here. After saying that, my pour over was TERRIBLE! They usually take a while to make which Im fine with but it took a long time and was very watered down. Pour over coffee is not supposed to taste like warm flavored water. If it weren't so packed in there I would have taken it back and asked for a regular coffee instead. This place is good when they arent busy and the employees can take there time. The problem is that they are usually always busy. read more

Great little place downtown whether looking for a snack, lunch, or place to study. Free wifi and lots of seating. Their food and drinks are delicious. My fave sandwich is def the Turkey Apple Croissant. You won't go wrong wih it. And their dark chocolate and sea salt cookies are a great little snack while getting work done. If looking for a smoothie, also a great place for these. The green monster is a great light lunch, very filling and so yummy! Their only pitfall is the short hours. Despite the numerous positive reviews on Yelp, we wished we had gone somewhere else. The food was hot and plentiful but there were little things that took away from the quality of our experience. The huge hunk of bread that came with my breakfast bowl was not very enticing. It wasn't stale, but it wasn't fresh or flavorful either. My bowl of scrambled eggs with veggie was very filling, probably 4 eggs worth. The veggies were fresh and not over cooked. The breakfast burrito was huge but nothing special, the picante sauce was probably from a jar. The fruit cup included fresh strawberries, but the rest of the fruit was that canned commercial fruit salad that is bitter and has grey honeydew melon pieces. For a cafe that offers cricket flour muffins and locally roasted coffee, you would think the fruit would be local and sides prepared fresh. The dirty chai latte was great but not enough to bring us back the next time I am in Augusta. read more

I tried this place with my girlfriend for breakfast. I was intrigued to try some of their coffee as it was highly promoted in the signage displayed throughout. I opted for a pour over which was quite nice. I also ordered the lumberjack breakfast. I was able to easily pay for my meal with Apple Pay. Instead of getting a number to place on your table as you wait for your food to deliver you are given a laminated picture of a musician. I was given Bob Dylan and sat outside to wait for delivery. Soon enough a giant meal of scrambled eggs, bacon, and some awesome toasted bread was delivered. The serving size was a challenge to finish but it all tasted delicious. As an added bonus there is a cool independent book store directly across from the restaurant. I plan to make this a regular stop! read more

Please note that people posting on this same day are going to New Moon on the busiest day of the year for them. This is the weekend of the iron man marathon and people tend to love the coffee food and atmosphere there so it draws in a great deal of hungry people in need of caffeine. I'm not saying all things are excusable, but please take into consideration the waits, and the general madness when the staff is doing their best on an exceptionally busy day. We decided to try something new so I went here with my fiancé at about 10 til noon. It was expectedly busy, but we waited forever for our food and it was simple. My fiancé's food was made wrong and then it took another 20 minutes to get his correct food. Food was delicious, coffee was great, however the service sucked. read more

There are a couple of good things about New Moon...but not more than just a couple. And I really do not like giving bad reviews. There is a cool funky vibe which I like, but the lack of urgency in a restaurant establishment drives me crazy (unless it is fine dinning and you are expecting an experience to be 2 hours). I get it, the employees will be there all day, but that doesn't mean the customer wants to be or will be there all day. Slow is not a sufficient word to describe the snails pace of movement. Calling in an order to go expedites the lengthy process. The Augusta Grits Bowl is delicious (stone ground grits, pimento cheese, salsa, avocado, crispy bacon, and a little cholula hot sauce). I love it. Even though it seems like they started melting the pimento cheese they put on the grits, which turns into a oil slick on top of the grits. They used to put the pimento cheese on the grits and the heat from the grits melted it...but it's different now. The baked potato salad is delicious as well. Boss lady's chicken salad is good also. The coffee....ehhh... it's okay. A friend of mine ordered avocado toast, which one would expect slices of avocado or even slightly mashed but chunky on toast, but it was some kind of avocado pulp spread, super smooth..not exactly the best consistency. And not to mention it took her 20 minutes to get avocado toast. So if you have patience of steel and have no place to be for another 2 hours, this could be a great option for you! read more

Just went into the new moon cafe for the first time with my family, The entire floor of the interior was wet, almost slipped multiple times. Didnt get one smile from any employee. Ordered some breakfast food and it was all utterly bland and disgusting. Not appealing to the eye or pallet. It was $30 for 3 breakfast sandwiches and drinks. I am now on the way home in the car and every single one of us has a stomach ache. I am tired of trying new supposedly "GOOD" restaurants and going in there and seeing that my home bathroom is more cleanly than the restaurant. There were fruit flies everywhere, crawling on me AND my food. And not to mention the lack of sanitation on the coffee bar and the fridge, was covered in some sort of scum. Which is simply lack of cleanliness and a disregard for peoples health and well-being. I disapprove DO NOT Waste your money or time here. Disgusting read more

One of my favorite places to hangout and study. There's a quiet little seating area off to the side where not many people sit and it's secluded from the rest of the main restaurant which is nice. The outdoor atmosphere is perfect for rainy days, so relaxing. The staff here is always nice and welcoming. Also, I highly recommend the iced Apple chai, I can never come here without ordering one! read more
