    Egg and veggie breakfast wrap
    Ophelia M.

Stopped by New Moon Cafe for some breakfast, coffee, and a spot to get a little work done. Happy to report it's great for all three. For my breakfast, I ordered their egg and veggie wrap. It was ample without being overwhelming and was a tasty combination of scrambled eggs and sauteed peppers and onions with a nice sprinkling of fresh green onions as well. They asked if I'd like salsa, hot sauce, or sour cream on the side. I opted for sour cream, which was a great pairing. For my coffee, I got one of their holiday lattes. It was a bit sweeter than I prefer, but what can you really expect--it's a holiday latte! It was a tasty treat. It's an order at the counter and they'll call out your coffee situation. If you're dining in, they do bring your food to your table. The service is kind and the dining room is quirky and colorful. Get to it!

There is a reason this place is busy most days! Stopped in today for a vanilla iced latte as well as a bacon egg and cheese bagel. The latte is very refreshing, not too sweet or bitter. Definitely a good balance. The bagel hit the spot of what I needed for my Saturday morning. Four stars just due to the flow of everything however very understandable given how busy they were. Staff was very friendly and welcoming, very eclectic atmosphere and environment overall

Steak egg and pimento cheese burrito

We stopped by for breakfast right after they opened. There were just a few people there when we arrived but otherwise pretty cozy and quiet. We got the unicorn (white chocolate & raspberry) iced latte, cookie butter nitro brew, steak egg and pimento cheese burrito, and bacon egg and cheese bagel. The unicorn latte was DELISH!! The cookie butter nitro was okay. It really didn't taste like cookie butter, but more just like plain nitro brew. The steak egg and cheese burrito had great flavor, I just wish the meat to egg ratio was a little more balanced. There was a ton of eggs and not a lot of meat. Bacon egg and cheese bagel was good as well. Overall a great experience! Will definitely be back.

Stopped in for a quick bite while nearby. Ordered the avocado toast, wasn't a huge fan. The egg was cold, the bread didn't taste fresh, & it took forever to come out. The staff was very kind, and the atmosphere was unique! The wall was filled with local artist's work that could be purchased. Pricing was pretty average for the area. Hoping to come back again to try the coffee & something different.

Service can be hit or miss depending on the staff. I've been here several times. A great breakfast selection for coffee and morning smoothies. My go-to is the "Green Monster." During covid, pre-vaccine. The line in the White building got long during breakfast hours. Moving back into the building and having a full staff helps with the wait time. Plenty of available outdoor seating. I order the quinoa hashbrowns today and was surprised that the staff told me it was not on the menu today since they forgot to make it. The menu has written on a large chalkboard that says they have quinoa hashbrowns. Service can be hit or miss depending on the number of employees they have available. Food is still top-notch when available. Service feels like a a restaurant run by employees in their job after school.

Good food, nice people, great atmosphere. The chocolate chip and banana nut muffins were great. The grits is one of the bests I have ever had.

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning on our way out of town. We loved the vibe inside - very fun and artsy. We both got a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel, adding cheese and a meat (bacon for me, turkey sausage for my wife). The bagels were superb - best we've had in a long time. Originally we were going to take it to go, but the eggs were scrambled and pretty messy so we decided to eat them there. We would have preferred a fried egg just to make them easier to eat. We definitely preferred the bacon over the turkey sausage. I also got a blueberry croissant. It was fine, it also had an icing filling with the blueberries. But it was a bit underbaked, I probably wouldn't get it again. Overall we enjoyed our experience and would definitely return for the bagels and the vibe. The cinnamon rolls looked bomb as well, will definitely try one of those next time.

This place is AMAZING! My family and I came here for a quick breakfast and we were not disappointed. My son had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and he said it was yummy. I had the avocado toast with a fried egg. The bread was tasty and the eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the steak pimento wrap and he enjoyed it. He said he wished it had a little more spice to it but it was still pretty good. We also ordered two smoothies which were great. The strawberry "pop-tart" was absolutely amazing! It was flaky, warm, and not too sweet. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Such was the case with this coffee shop. The location is the first selling point. Right on the corner of 8th and Greene Street. You might not notice it except for in the evening. The large windows in the front allow the light from inside to spill out. During the day, you get the opposite. The sun gives this place such a warm glow. I already love 8th Street because it is unique with its presence of pine trees (all the way to the riverfront), but is also home to some amazing other businesses. Walking in, you are greeted by plenty of seating selection and smiling team members. The coffee bar is straight ahead with the options. I have to give props to the design team as they did an amazing job with the overall theme, the rustic industrial feel. Again, the contrast of the dark wood and white walls with the sunlight is perfect. They will let you know upfront that they are the fruit of a collaborative effort by United Methodist Churches in the area. The primary goal is to provide a coffee shop where college students can come to study, fellowship, and grow. I mention this because I also want to add that, based on my observation, this was the only religious reference present. So know that there aren't various sayings on the walls that might offend or disturb the atmosphere. Also, because it falls under the churches, it is a nonprofit. This means payment is suggested, they can't charge per se. So have an idea of what you think a latte or hot cup of coffee is worth to you. I went with a nitro cold brew coffee and was told their cold brew and all of their beans come from Stone Roastery (in North Augusta). It is good to hear them supporting local and not trying to produce something they may not be ready for just yet. There is free WiFi and soft acoustic music playing and the invitation to come and setup to work anytime (without them knowing the company I work for). I look forward to returning soon. Stop by, if your schedule allows. Currently they are open Monday-Wednesday, 11 am-3 pm. They hope to expand hours soon.

Lots of seating options and we opted for the comfy little couch and chair in the back corner, which was great to just have coffee, a quick sandwich, and chat. My friend got the Good Tidings (think all the Thanksgiving flavors in one sandwich) special and I had serious jealousy over her food because I just got a simple breakfast sandwich and made the mistake of opting for sourdough instead of the amazing ciabatta it was supposed to come on. While in town for the weekend my husband and I wanted brunch somewhere unique to Augusta instead of another chain restaurant, and after scrolling Yelp and seeing all the glowing reviews we decided to give this Black owned, family operated spot a try. I noticed online that you can make a reservation for a $20 fee that gets deducted from your check. At first I was a little surprised, but after seeing how busy this place is, it makes total sense. We decided to roll the dice without a reservation anyway. When we arrived on a Saturday morning there were already several people waiting outside. There isn't really an indoor waiting area, so the hospitable hostess took my name and phone number and kindly asked us to wait outside. Later I noticed the sign explaining the process. She quoted us a 40-minute wait, but thankfully we were seated in about half that time. Inside, the restaurant is quaint and cozy with a classic diner feel complete with counter seating and booths. The ambiance is casual and welcoming. If you have a larger party, there are a couple of outdoor tables that appear to accommodate around six people, but personally I think this spot is best enjoyed with a smaller group. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving smoothly despite the busy brunch crowd. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles while I went with the Garden City breakfast bowl loaded with veggies and home fries plus a salmon croquette on the side. Every single thing tasted homemade and full of flavor. This is what Southern comfort food is supposed to taste like. My husband said the chicken was seasoned well and fried perfectly, and the waffle paired with it beautifully. My breakfast bowl reminded me of the kind of breakfast my grandma used to make, comforting, flavorful, and cooked with care. Portion sizes were just right,  enough to leave satisfied without feeling miserable afterward. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. Stellar customer service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. If I ever find myself back in Augusta, this will absolutely be one of my repeat stops.
