Although the ambiance of the store front leaves something to be desired, the service and food from New Peking keeps us coming back for more! New Peking is our go-to for takeout and never disappoint when it comes to quantity or quality.

I HAVE FOUND BUGS IN THE FOOD TWICE!!! I wrote this place off a couple weeks ago after finding dead flies throughout my food, went back after a night out because it was open late and there's an entire cockroach cooked in with my chicken! Back to back times with bugs in food is not unlucky. Do not eat here.

This is the best Chinese takeout I've had in Charleston. This isn't the place you go to eat, I walked by the shop one day and THEN realized this is where I had been ordering Chinese from! So, when you're craving good Chinese, almost like you're in NY, get on Door Dash and order up some yumminess, it will definitely satisfy!

Excellent location and opens late. The food is what you would expect at a traditional Chinese Americanized restaurant, nothing gourmet but great for a cheap bite while enjoying the night scene. When I walked in they had ran out of my first three menu choices so I ended up with the shrimp lo-mein which was a generous portion with what was clearly frozen shrimp. Again, nothing espectacular but cheap and convenient . The service is great and the staff is friendly, the establishment is clean and well taken care of.

I ordered this via Uber Eats to be delivered before attending a meeting. The spring rolls were delicious, but the Chicken Pad Thai was disgusting and I'm bummed as it's one of my favorite dishes. I ate a few bites and honestly don't know if I should take the still-full container back and ask for a refund (something I have done ONCE in my life as a former F&B worker) or just throw it out and eat the cost? So so bad.

We discovered this restaurant thanks to our amazing walking tour guide…read more The restaurant has a unique vibe in that it's located in the same building as the Pour House. You can always grab a bite here and then head next door for some live jazz! That being said, the food was phenomenal. Everything is unapologetically spicy, so be prepared! We had the biang biang noodles, the lamb dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, and the fried green beans. Everything was delicious but my favorite were the Biang Biang noodles. Honestly wish I had discovered this spot a day earlier as there were probably 6 other items that I wanted to try! lol I'd highly recommend it if you're in town.

The ambiance is very charming, making it a great spot for a casual yet elevated dinner. The Drink: We tried the traditional infused Baijiu for the first time. It's a concentrated liquor that packs a serious punch! It's served in a vessel smaller than a shot glass and meant to be sipped. One of the staff members shared the history and craft behind it, which made the experience feel like a genuine cultural exchange The Food: The Hot and Sour Mushrooms are the unsung heroes of the menu. They were earthy, tangy, and the perfect palate cleanser between bites of the fiery Cumin Lamb Noodles. Can't wait to go back and try other menu items!
