    Restaurant week entrees and cocktails

The Ice House restaurant is a local dive bar that offers a quaint dining area with amazing diner options. We stopped in after choosing this location for VB restaurant week and were not disappointed! Their restaurant week menu offered specialty cocktails for the first and last course and a few really great main course entrees. $35 for each three course menu was an amazing value for what we received. I chose the 12oz ribeye and my friend had the blackened salmon. Both meals and sides were very well prepared and the salmon tasted very fresh! The service was absolutely outstanding. After diner we chose to check out the bar area and watch the end of one of the NFL playoff games. The bar had a very friendly and local vibe! We plan to return soon and highly recommend for a local dining experience!

Pulled up to location ...We were contemplating if we wanted to eat there....We're visitors from Michigan... But I must say never judge a book by its cover...it was 8 of us and we all was out done on how good the food taste.....Thanks Ronnie and Wes for great food and service!.

A landmark restaurant from 1910 I believe and supposedly a don't miss. Welllll. I think in this day with all the restaurants available you can miss this one. Besides being somewhat sketchy from the outside when you venture inside the decor looks very old and tired. At least dust all those old ice house tools! Tables and chairs are old and tired looking. This place is in dire need of an upgrade and a good cleaning. Now onto the service: outstanding service. No complaints at all there. Food: we had the prime rib and the crab cakes. Sigh - I wish restaurants that served crab cakes would at least TRY to make them with lump crab and use old bay. These were horrible - like a canned tuna fish cake. Yuck! The prime rib was fine. Not anything special. Not really sure what the draw is here other than the historical aspect. You can miss this one IMHO

The service here was good. No complaints. Upon walking in I was nervous because of the smell but it could have been from the carpet; they are located just a few blocks from the beach. Our party of 6 were seated quite quickly and after a few minutes of reviewing the menu we places our orders. I went with the steamed platter which included 2 snow crab clusters, steamed shrimp, and 2 sides. I ordered french fries and beans and rice for my sides. The shrimp were not seasoned but cocktail sauce was provided so that helped. The French fries were lukewarm but good and even better with old bay seasoning added on. The beans and rice were spicy but not to my liking. The snow crab clusters arrived after everything else and they were not seasoned at all. It looked like the old bay seasoning was added to the cluster after they were cooked. Being from Philly, we love seafood and love flavor aka seasoning. The staff were pleasant and friendly.

Great food & great service! Wes took great care of us today. Crab legs, steamed shrimp, fish & Chips, etc. are delicious! Great mixed drinks and beer selection. Thanks, We'll be back!

The service started out very rocky because they left us seated for 10+mins without anyone coming by. Started with the fried shrimp for an app, it was made fresh but the batter kept falling off. Came to try the prime rib and it was ok. Hubby had the ribeye and for some reason it came with blue cheese on it. The decor is very rustic to say the least.

This was an overpriced waste of time and money. The reviews were great which is how we ended up here... but the food was awful. My daughters food looked good but she got steamed crab legs... I'm not sure how you could mess that up,.. my boyfriend had the crab cake sandwich that was burnt. And it tasted like it was made with miracle whip or something.. GROSS... I'm not a fan of a burned sweet tasting crab cake. And the tarter sauce had the same type of taste... nasty... My one picture i took was the fried flounder sandwich...when have you ever ordered a fish sandwich and it's soggy and all broken up. We ordered no lettuce and tomato and it was on there anyway. The very sweet lady that worked in the front, ran out to their little patio thing they have to sweep up glass that someone had broken and the manager there tonight absolutely scolded her and I felt embarrassed for her for him to fuss at her telling her that he isn't worried about broken glass with how busy they were. But why would you yell at your employee at all but especially in front of customers... that clearly is part of the reason people don't want to work now... the lack of respect from managers. Needless to say but i will anyway... we won't return..

We stopped in last night (Mon 12/27) with family to enjoy the burger night special. I'm not much of a burger fan, but I will never turn down family time! We came around 5:30 pm and were seated right away. Our server, Jen May, was incredibly pleasant, kind and engaging through our entire meal. I would definitely request her on our next visit in! The indoor dining area is cozy, with several tv's to enjoy a game or two. It felt a little cluttered and the floor under the benches along the back wall could use a good vacuuming and cleaning, but that shouldn't deter you from dining in. The food and service are top notch. The website price for burger night is not consistent with the actual price on the menu we received ($6.99 versus $5.99 on their website). I totally get the cost of everything - Jen May let us know that they were having to increase prices based on meat costs, which I totally get! In any case, the burger and fries is still one of the best off-season deals at the beach. The burgers are HUGE, cooked to perfection and really tasty. I am starting my post-holiday detox a little early and tried the garden salad with grilled chicken. Chicken was juicy, but a little over-seasoned. The veggies were VERY fresh. Our daughter's burger was the perfect size and also juicy while still being cooked to well done. Restrooms are clean, though a little awkward in placement - you have to walk through the prep station on the way to the kitchen, which is a bit hectic on a busy night. I nearly took out a server walking with my toddler to the ladies room. Overall, the service and tasty food were enough to make me want to return. They've got quite a diverse menu and I'd love to try some other options!

It is fully shaded which was nice considering we had some young kids with us. Service staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. I'd encourage them to be more targeted when describing some recommendations on the menu, she simply listed about the entire menu she asked "what are some of your favorites". Drinks were delivered very fast by the bartender. 2nd rounds were offered prior to the drinks being empty which shows good serving habits. The serving portions were very plentiful and played very well on the brunch theme! Burger was cooked medium well but still very juicy with a delicious mayo based sauce. The chicken and biscuit was juicy and the biscuit was flaky and delicious. It would have served the dish well TJ have a little more syrup. I also loved the unique hash tots. I was simply visiting from out of state so I won't return, but I'd encourage you to! They are also included on Resy so be sure to book there or use a Resy credit if you have it!

The line moved quickly, and while the food took a little longer to come out, it was clearly made fresh and was flavorful and worth the wait. One thing I appreciated was how dog-friendly the atmosphere is, with dogs welcome both inside and outside. The seating is very much community-style, with shared tables and a family/neighborhood feel. We didn't mind it, but if you prefer more personal space or private seating, the close quarters may not be for you. Breakfast sandwiches were reasonably priced, generally in the $13-$15 range. My only real complaint came when I watched the top of my sandwich fall off while a crew member was moving plates around. The employee picked it up and placed it back on the sandwich with their hand after touching several other items behind the counter. It wasn't enough to ruin the experience, but it did bother me and left an impression. I have been to this restaurant a total of 3 times and have always ordered the same dish.. what can I say I am Catfish and Collards kinda girl. Ordered Fish and Grits with a side of Collards on one occasion and I believe with Mac and Cheese & Collards on the other two. The dish is called The Tail of Two fish. It includes one piece of catfish and one piece of whiting.. I substituted for two pieces of Catfish Fried Hard.... If you know. You know. First time collards were decent but nothing to drive in traffic towards oceanfront for. The staff claim to like their Mac and Cheese but I am definitely not a fan. I personally will not Reccomend. They are not horrible but what can I say, watery and lacking layers of flavor and creaminess that one desires when eating a comfort food like Mac & Cheese. The fish was good especially with some Hot Sauce. Grits were ok but I've had better. Cocktails are amazing BUT pricey. Please be mindful that when you are a mixed drink off the menu for example, A lemon Drop, Margarita, any signature drink... it automatically includes alcohol BUT your waiter will ask you what kind of alcohol would you prefer... for instance Don Julio or Patron.... If you select on of those option you will be charged for the cocktail plus the UPGRADED liquor of choice. So if your Margarita is $16 On the menu (that includes liquor) IF you choose one of the choices being offered to you, you will be charged an additional charge for the shot in your drink. For example if you chose Don Julio when you ordered your cocktail. That drink now almost $30!!!! $16 for cocktail on menu PLUS example $12 for a shot of Don Julio... NOW that 1 cocktail cost $28 ish. If you have 3 of these bad boys thru out the course of your meal or happen to ask for a drink with a double shot, be prepared to pay more money for your curated cocktail then you entire meal! The service was excellent BUT I try believe that it's the waiter/or waitresses obligation to advise that when you order your drink it comes with alcohol and if you choose one of the alcohol options that they are providing for your drink, to explain that that is a up charge and you don't have to to pick a brand of liquor because the drink made as is already includes alcohol. This information was not related to any of the guests sitting at my large party and some cocktails actually came up to almost $50 per drink!!!! Quite INSANE! Gratuity is automatically added on for single orders and or large groups. Perhaps the waiters attempt to upsell the Too Shelf Liquor and don't explain. The additional cost to ensure a larger bill which leads to larger amount of gratuity. ‍ who knows but some of my guests complained to the manager and she apologized for the lack of information. Back to the Food! lol Fried Green Tomatoes!!! I normally love them but I know many places cannot truly execute them and Milk& Honey is definitely one of those places that should not have this dish on the menu! Fried Green tomatoes should be FRIED, Seasoned & CRISPY! By adding a dressed salad on top of the tomatoes, your fried green tomatoes is now a SOGGY unseasoned, lukewarm tomato.. I do not Reccomend. Order at your own risk!!! You have been warned! Fried Deviled Eggs. Every person that I have dined with at this restaurant most definitely HIGHLY RATE and DEVOUR the Deviled Eggs. So those get 5 's Shrimp Po Boy Sliders were a hit and fan fave but I believe those were part of a daily special. Peach Cobbler Empanada for dessert was a nice sharable between two to simply try something new. Overall I normally spend at least $100 for my meal, cocktail and at least one drink for the guest of honor including tax and gratuity. That's a bit high for a brunch when the food is a hit or miss. I had such high hopes for this restaurant to be in the 757 area especially because I've heard great reviews from the chains in the DMV area. I disliked that many of my guest were disappointed and dissatisfied for my Birthday Brunch

I'm a chef myself and travel to different restaurants regularly, so I try to be understanding. That said, the service we experienced yesterday at Stock Pot was unfortunately some of the worst I've had in quite a while. We sat outside, and it honestly felt like we were being deliberately ignored. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet we had to wait long stretches just to get basic things. At one point near the end of our meal, we asked for a box and our check. Instead of bringing it over, the waitresses stood around talking with other waitresses, while we continued to wait. After sitting there for quite a while, we eventually had to ask for the check and box, a second time. Throughout the meal the service was inconsistent. We had three different waitresses checking on us, but were left to sit for about 30 minutes alone at one point, and it took almost 20 to have our order taken, once we ordered, we had to request our appetizer again, after waiting another 20 or so minutes. Upon asking, again, we found out they were out of part of the appetizer we ordered. After that it came out quick. The food, however, was excellent and definitely the highlight of the experience. That's why this review is disappointing to write -- the kitchen is clearly doing a great job. I just hope the service side improves, because it didn't match the quality of the food.

The restaurant has a great oceanfront location and the food was good, but our experience was significantly impacted by how staff handled my service dog. We initially sat outside, but constant biting flies made it difficult to enjoy our meal, so we moved inside. Shortly afterward, an assistant manager approached us and attempted to remove us because of my service dog. My dog was clearly identifiable as a service animal, quietly lying at my feet, fully under control, and not bothering anyone. As a Disabled Veteran, I should not have had to explain ADA service animal laws in order to eat breakfast. The burden should not fall on guests to educate restaurant management about federal disability protections. What should have been a happy and memorable morning before my wedding became stressful and upsetting. The issue was eventually resolved, and we were allowed to remain, but only after I had to advocate for my legal rights. Because of that experience, we chose not to return to dine inside the restaurant for the remainder of our stay. The food and location were good, but the lack of service animal awareness by management seriously detracted from the experience. I strongly recommend additional ADA and service animal training for all staff so future guests do not experience the same treatment.
