What a Great authentic Korean restaurant! [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as you walk in, there's a whiff of delicious Korean cuisine![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]What jumped out at me was the older patrons were all of Korean descent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What we ordered: beef soondubu combo with tonkatsu & Mushroom soondubu combo with grilled saba- tofu soup was delicious, full of umami , tonkatsu was just okay & the saba was perfectly grilled & salted. We ordered extra spicy but it was mild for my taste. Banchan were all delicious as well. I love that they serve purple rice In the hot stone pot. Highly recommend this Korean restaurant!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as I walked in, I noticed all Korean patrons and the wonderful aroma of soondubu![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The banchan were all delicious. We ordered 2 combos, beef soondubu with tonkatsu and mushroom Soondubu with grilled saba. The soondubu was so flavorful and the saba was perfectly grilled! The tonkatsu was as expected. We both ordered extra spicy soup, but it was pretty mild for our taste. All in All, we enjoyed our delicious meal!

I was really excited to try this place for some good Korean food! Overall, the food was good but the service was not. For the food, I got the seafood sujebi. This was good, but the actual noodles / sujebi were a bit too thick for my liking. For the service, I found that they were a bit dismissive. We were also charged and judged for using to go boxes - which has never happened to me before. I had high expectations but it was nothing special and I would rather go to another place with greater service.

Summary: [[HIGHLIGHT]]New Soul Restaurant offers authentic Korean dishes that will impress any fan of the cuisine, though the strong smell when entering may catch you off guard.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food, especially the stone bibimbap and beef kimchi tofu soup, was excellent, and despite a slight delay with the appetizers, the meal was worth the wait. I'm giving it five stars for the quality and authenticity of the food, though the initial atmosphere and language barrier may require a bit of patience. Ambience (3.5/5): [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a cozy, casual atmosphere, but the strong, pungent smell--likely from fish sauce or another ingredient--can be a bit overwhelming at first.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It wasn't the most welcoming start, but once we got settled, the experience improved. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area itself is simple, but the focus is clearly on the food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Authenticity (5/5): If you're craving true Korean flavors, this place delivers. The stone bibimbap we ordered was perfectly cooked, with a crispy rice crust at the bottom of the pot, which is exactly what you want in a good bibimbap. The authenticity of the dishes made the meal feel like a true Korean dining experience. Flavor (5/5): Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, especially the beef kimchi tofu soup. It's usually served with pork, but they gladly substituted beef with no extra charge, which was a nice gesture. The kimchi pancake was good, though next time, I'll definitely try the seafood pancake. The overall quality and taste of the food were exceptional. Cost (4.5/5): The prices were fair, especially considering the quality of the food. The portions were generous, and I appreciated that substitutions didn't come with an extra charge. For the authenticity and flavor, it's well worth the cost. Service (4/5): The service started off a bit slow, with a delay in getting our appetizers after the water was served. However, once things got moving, the staff were polite and attentive. Just keep in mind that the owner speaks limited English, but they are still very accommodating and friendly. Tips for Visiting: 1. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Strong smell upon entry: Be prepared for a strong, pungent odor when you first walk in, likely from the sauces they use.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's part of the experience but might take a moment to adjust to. 2. Order the stone bibimbap: The crispy rice at the bottom of the pot is a true testament to the authenticity of this dish--definitely worth trying. 3. Beef kimchi tofu soup: Ask for a substitution if you prefer beef over pork; they'll make the switch for you with no extra cost. 4. Try the seafood pancake next time: While the kimchi pancake was good, I'll be ordering the seafood pancake on my next visit, and I recommend giving it a try. 5. Service may be slow initially: Don't be surprised if it takes a bit of time for appetizers to arrive, but once the meal starts, everything flows smoothly.

Hits every spot for comfort Korean food. Super authentic. We shared a soondae jjeonggeol between two people and was plenty of food. Only downside was the food took a long time to come out, but was worth waiting every minute. Will come again!

A mom and pop shop that can get a bit bogged down when busy, but give them a chance and be patient, esp. given the economic situation today. Food is really good and very fairly priced. The menu is going to be a little different than the more Americanized Korean BBQ joints. Banchan is a bit more narrow in variety but the quality is much higher than the norm.

One of my favorite places for Korean soups! We tried several different soups and all of them were delicious and authentic! We tried the Korean Blood Sausage Soup and Intestine Soup. The broth was packed with an explosion of flavor! Service was friendly. We got seated promptly and the server brought us a big jar of barley tea. There is plenty of parking spots in the lot.

They should rename this place to Old Seoul Restaurant because every customer that went in were elderly Korean couples besides me and my partner. The saying goes, "if there's a lot of old people there, it must be good." The lady that worked there didn't speak English well, but we manage to to "kind of" ordered what we wanted. She was very nice as well. We wanted to order raw marinated crab and the assortment of korean sausages but they were out. We ended up ordering the "New Seoul Main Dish" but even that didn't have everything we wanted so we settled with the other options it came with. The special set included sundae guk (blood sausage and offal soup- which they didn't have) or doenjang jigae (soybean paste stew) with Galbi ribs , baked cool fish and modumsundae (blood sausage) or pajun. Since they didn't have the sundae guk soup she gave us the modumsundae and pajun as well. As usual, the meal comes with complimentary side dishes and rice. When it came to taste, I thought it was good but i have had better. I may or may not visit the place again since there are so many other Korean restaurants in the area and possibly taste better. Our total bill came to about $65 with tax and tip. The set itself looked a lot, but it wasn't considering the side dishes made it look like we had more food.

    Kimchee banchan

It's our first time at the very authentic New Seoul Restaurant in Lynnwood. The menu is extensive with items that are beyond my normally adventurous palate; anyone care for fish intestines? Pork intestines, pork hock, and pork blood are all available. We went in mid-afternoon during the quiet hours. Our wait was uncommonly long when there were only 3 other persons there. She finally served us a round of banchan, which we completely polished off, and our food still hasn't arrived. Our server is a woman of few English words. If Korean food is new to you, this is not the place for an introduction. I suspect you won't get detailed answers. The Food: Grilled Mackerel and Soft Tofu Stew Combo, $16.99 - 4.5 Stars This combo also comes with the purple rice. The grilled mackerel is meaty and a hearty bite; I thought it was a tad dry though. The stew is a choice of kimchee, any of the tofu stews, etc. This combo is very filling and great for the hearty appetite. Their tofu stew is excellent. Stir-Fried Rice Cake, $9.99 - 4.5 Stars This is a yummy dish. Korean rich cake rolls, fish cake slices, light veggies in a spicy tangy sweet sauce. Spiciness is just right for hubby. I want it spicier. :) Regardless, it's still good. From a balanced meal standpoint, I think this is better for a shared side dish since it's mostly unhealthy processed white carbs. Spicy Halibut Stew, $13.99 - 2 Stars I took a chance with this dish, knowing at the very least because this is a quite authentic Korean restaurant - the fish pieces will very likely be skin-on and bone-on. They were and were. But I failed to realize how incredibly hot (temperature) the broth is and therefore how incredibly overcooked the halibut (any fish) can become in such a dish. Lesson Learned. If you ever see a fish stew served in bubbling hot Korean stew, skip it. The dish in an of itself is likely closer to 4 stars, but the star attraction of the protein being overcooked brings it down to 2 Stars. Seafood and Green Onion Pancake, $13.99 - 3 Stars Firstly, their sauce is superb. The pancake is only good, but on the doughy side, too much batter. It'll be better when I re-heat the leftovers, searing it a bit more, and adding a touch more seasoning. 6 kinds of banchan, Included - 4 Stars We both liked the fish cakes and the daikon the best. The kimchee was too mild.

    Raw marinated crab

Delicious Korean spot with a huge menu! We were pleasantly surprised at all the different soups they had. We ordered raw marinated crab which was sooo yummy, Kimchi stew, and spicy pork bulgogi. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went for a late lunch/early dinner and the place was half full but slowly got busier.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus there were lots of other Korean people eating inside, so you know that's a good sign![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will definitely be back to try more.

Absolutely delicious! Pictured: beef bulgogi, bibimbap, kimchi pancake, & tofu soup.

Super delicious food with friendly service, too! We definitely will be coming back to try some more of their dishes

My husband went with white wheat noodles and I chose the clear sweet potato noodles. It also came with rice, which was an unexpected but welcome addition. The banchan of kimchi radish and kimchi Napa cabbage were both excellent and refilled quickly without needing to ask twice. The soup is rich, creamy, and deeply comforting, the kind you immediately wish you had closer to home. Only wish is that they had a combination that included tendon, because that would be perfect. Definitely a spot I would come back to when we are in the area.

They can accommodate big groups, as they had 2 different large groups at the same time, but those took up a lot of tables because the restaurant isn't that spacious. We ordered boiled dumplings and the friends combo A with jajung, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk (M). The bowls of jajung and jjamppong are huge, but I didn't notice any meat in the jajung. The jajung was basically noodles, brown sauce, and onions. It was tasty, but disappointing that it looked and tasted vegetarian. The jjamppong was tasty because it was garlicky and slightly spicy. I was surprised to see the boiled dumplings were basically tiny wontons in clear broth. They need to update their menu description because I was expecting dry and regular sized dumplings. The tangsuyuk was very crispy, and I'm glad they served the goopy sauce separately.

The service was excellent, and like the LA locations, they handle the grilling for you (a premium touch you don't always find at local KBBQ spots). The menu and pricing are very similar to what you'd expect from the brand. I did notice a slight dip in food quality compared to LA. The meat there tends to be leaner, the seasoning is a bit more refined, and they are much more proactive about swapping out the grill plate between different cuts of meat. That said, chain standards are usually highest in LA, so that's a tough comparison. Overall, it's still a fantastic experience. If you're a first-timer or comparing it to other options in the Lynnwood area, I definitely recommend giving Baekjeong a try!

I had Dawa on my bookmarks for a long time ever since I saw videos about it and just the overall good reviews. We came in and saw that the place was pretty packed on a Thursday night but we were noticed quickly by a male employee and seated right away thankfully. Once we were seated, we were handed water and utensils as well as directions on how we can order as they have a small kiosk. We put in our order of galbi fried chicken, pork on the bone stew or gamjatang, and grilled pork belly. Once the order was entered, our waiter came back with rice, banchan, sauces and accompaniments for the pork belly, salad (think it comes with the grilled pork belly), pickled radish for the chicken and plates and bowls to share. It didn't take too long for food to come back but it didn't all come together which was odd but luckily the chicken was for sharing. The gamjatang was huge and pretty good, not as good as one of my favorite places in Federal Way but I will admit that they do give some huge pieces of meat and offer a one time refill of the soup. It could use more of a kick and more seasoning. The chicken as many others have mentioned was extremely well-fried, marinated and extremely huge. I do think they have the biggest Korean fried chicken pieces that I have ever seen in Washington. The meat was juicy, the outside was crunchy, and the sauce was heavenly. My boyfriend did say the grilled pork belly was some of the best he has ever had in his life, which is super high praise and I will admit that it is very good as well! They had an interesting playlist ranging from K-pop to regular pop (lots of Justin Bieber) and sometimes they would tone it down a bit then start blasting it. We never had to use to kiosk to call them once which I appreciated very much. My boyfriend and I look forward to coming back and definitely want to give a heads up that their portions are huge so come hungry!

Seems like more of a social hangout spot for late night eating and or drinking. If you want a nice quiet dinner, this isn't the spot. My group and I ordered the Korean fried chicken and the kimchi pancake to start. The appetizers didn't take that long to come out. Everything came out hot and fresh. The chicken was standard fried chicken size and came with 10 pieces. It came with 2 pieces of drumsticks and the rest were chicken thighs. The kimchi pancake was super crispy. We also ordered the beef tofu soup and the chicken bulgogi entree. The tofu soup was a lot - it did not come with an egg unlike other spots. The chicken entree was flavorful overall.

Even though I live in Seattle, I will travel back up to Lynnwood with family and friends to eat here again and again. Everything was perfect.

There were only one other group when we came in around lunch time on a Sunday. It looks like it gets crowded in the evening so it was a surprise to find the place so empty, but we didn't mind. The lady who was serving us was very friendly and came back a bunch of times to ask if we need more tea. We were there way longer than how much we spend time at typical BBQ place, but she didn't seem to mind, which was nice. We had the beef combo, cold noodles, and squid and veggie stir fry, and that was way more than we needed. We thought the combo comes with only two bowls of rice but they added another one, seeing that we are party of three. That was nice. Banchan was pretty good and I kind of wish I ate more of it before the meat arrived because I got full from other items quickly. Cold noodles were average. Of the four kinds of beef in the combo, I liked three of them except for one (I believe it was the NY steak) - one item was leaner/dryer than other NY steak I had elsewhere. The combo also came with individual sauces (two types - salt in oil and sweet-ish sauce). The sweet sauce was quite forgettable and so I kept dipping the meat in the salt in oil sauce, but I wish they offered other sauce...maybe like soy sauce based ones or just plain salt. The squid stir fry was spicy and I enjoyed it. The combo also came with tofu soup, which was also pretty good. Overall, there were minor stuff that didn't go with my preference, but I had a nice time at WuJu!

The restaurant is located in a plaza with its own lot, so no issues finding a spot. We ordered the mackerel and the mul naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), and both were solid. The mackerel was a decent size and cooked just right, with crispy skin and moist inside. The fish came with multigrain rice. The naengmyeon was refreshing and a great choice if you're looking for something lighter, a nice summer dish. Can't talk about a Korean spot without mentioning the banchan (side dishes), and this place didn't disappoint. Good variety, nothing felt like an afterthought, and they refilled them. Service was good too. Our waitress was friendly and attentive without hovering. She checked in at the right moments. The restaurant itself was clean. There are a couple of TVs mounted on the wall playing Korean shows. Overall, a really pleasant experience. Great for an early dinner if you want to avoid the rush. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Tried the gangam family set (came with mackeral, bulgolgi, steamed egg, soft tofu soup). The mackeral was larger than expected and tasty and everything was fresh. Bulgolgi was alright but I liked everything else. We also got take out which included a beef soondobu (tofu stew) and bibimbap and it was very nice that they included a portion of banchan, nicely separated by little sample paper cups. Everything was packed neatly and was hot. The soondobu was tasty and came with purple rice which was nice. Bibimbap was also good but I wish that they provided a little more sauce to go with it. Overall, this is a solid place.
