Pad kee mao with chicken, add tomatoes. No sprouts.

So far; this is the most authentic Thai food I have tried yet on the island. And at a decent price for what I felt like I brought home. I spent $80 and service from start to finish was good. The cashier/server was helpful and helped get the order all correct! I did inform her that I have a shellfish allergy when ordering as well. The pad kee mao was just how I asked for it. The thick rice noodles were just what I was looking for since I moved here to the island. The chicken was more thigh and I prefer the white meat but I would definitely order again and maybe change meat selection. The fried was not my middle son's favorite but big bro and little bro thought it was good and just to their liking. The phó broth was okay, I definitely found my phó place further away and that's okay. The egg rolls were delicious. Would not change a thing. The peanut covered clear dip was just what they needed as well. My son ordered a boba Vietnamese iced coffee and it was perfect. The chicken satay was a hit. It came with 4 sticks loaded with meat. The meat is well flavored and remind me more of a kabob since they are loaded with pieces of chicken. They do a great job with this item here. I'll be back soon.

Best Thai Coffee Ever!!!! We love everything here too when it comes to the food! Pad Thai, Pho, Curries, Fish Patties, Tom Yum service is always friendly and quick. This is your typical hole in the wall but delicious when you find it kind of location. Everything inside displays "Thai".

The new spicy house has always been one of my favorite restaurants but I haven't been here in almost 4 years so I decided to try it out today. I got the ginger fish and egg rolls. My sister got the pork ribs and shrimp pad Thai. The food was pretty good except the pork ribs. It was very dry and burnt. Fortunately we didn't need to pay for that dish because the server and management agreed that it was burnt and dry which was the only food that was disappointing. The service was not good. It was very slow and the server lacked enthusiasm and kept disappearing throughout our meal. The tables around us had no one sitting there but was filled with dirty, uneaten dishes. It was disheartening. I really wanted to enjoy my lunch here today but unfortunately it was lacking in food and service. I hope they do better next time because usually their food is pretty good.

This place is such a hidden gem! Everything we ordered was spot on. The crispy spring rolls with a killer dipping sauce, sweet & spicy shrimps with honey that were perfectly crunchy, and a rich, comforting curry loaded with veggies. The wide noodle stir-fry had that smoky wok flavor that's hard to find and the fried fish was golden and packed with flavor. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the staff makes you feel right at home. Plus a great bang for your buck! Easily one of my favorite Thai spots on the island.

Food is still delicious, at least my prik khing, yellow curry with fish, and the fried spring rolls. But, it's getting more difficult to eat there now.  They close at 130pm after lunch (used to be open nonstop from 11 to 8pm) and reopen later in the afternoon.  And dine in service stops at 7pm although they will accept to-go orders until 730pm.  Why is this problematic?  I like to hike the nearby pink pillbox for sunset then hit Spicy House for dinner.   Unfortunately, that's no longer possible due to their operational hours. I know covid changed the world/restaurant ops, but limited hours make eating Spicy House a lot more difficult

Nestled in Maili as you drive west. It doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let that fool you. Try to go when you can make a right turn in, bc with all the construction going on, making a left would suck. Also double check on hours bc they break mid day. This place had been recommended to me by a client that is a chef/nutritionist who lives on that side. I even texted him about what to get and he recommended the curry and the pad Thai. I am always a sucker for cashew chicken so that was always going to be a part of my order. I really wanted a sampler appetizer to get to try the most items but they were out of that particular dish so it will have to wait for another time. The waitress was so sweet and was very attentive. She never asked us what spice level we wanted but I guess that was still ok.... I can ask next time. The Panaang curry came with a little kick to it but I could probs handle more. The place was very clean, and nice interior. The service was great as was the food. It is safe to say we willl def be back to try more dishes.

Be sure to check the time before you go because they close from 2-4 pm but otherwise this is a great find! The interior is quaint and simple. I ordered the chicken Thai fried rice and the Thai beef salad. Both were medium and spicy!! Next time I'd order a little less spice but this is the right amount of heat if you like things with a little kick.

    Do they serve beer?

Currently only serving take-out. No Dine-In.

They're number is always disconnected. How do we get a hold of them?

Same! We love it there but it goes straight to a voicemail that hasn't been set up yet and we usually have to call over ten times before someone picks up or we just give up. This happened twice this week and they never ended up answering.

Do you make other Lao food like Nam Khao?

It's rare that you get that at any restaurant just because not everyone knows what it is. I know some of the thai bars in town do serve them though & they do take out

    Do they have a vegan/vegetarian dishes/menu?

    Yes

(formerly S&S Thai Kitchen at Ka makana ali') My affection for this restaurant is boundless, and there are countless reasons why it stands out as my favorite island eatery. First and foremost, S&S Thai Mini Mart commitment to quality and sustainability is unparalleled. An impressive 70% of their produce is sourced directly from their own farms in Kahuku, ensuring that every dish is as fresh as it is flavorful. The absence of MSG in their cooking is a testament to their dedication to health and authenticity, making every meal a guilt-free indulgence. As a vegan, dining out can sometimes be a challenge, but S&S Thai Mini Mart has always been exceptionally accommodating. Their willingness to customize meals without hesitation is something I've always appreciated. Whether it's adjusting dishes to suit dietary preferences or experimenting with new flavors, their customer service is top-notch. The soul of S&S Thai Mini Mart is undoubtedly its owners, Tammy and Jason. Their love for the community shines through in everything they do, from the warm welcome they extend to every guest to their efforts to give back to the island. Moving to Nanakuli, they've not only continued to offer their authentically authentic Thai dishes but also expanded their menu to include Korean specialties and a variety of market items. This expansion has only added to the charm and appeal of the restaurant, making it a culinary hub for both locals and visitors alike. Let me add they have a good selection of authentic seasonings, sauces, noodles and such. We picked up a thing or two while we were there. Oh! They also have ox tail and other meats and fish! Fresh (frozen though) and very smartly priced. The food was as delicious as ever. I ordered Yellow Curry and Pad Kee Mao. I ate the curry there and it was so creamy, rich and satisfying. The right balance on onions, carrots, potato's oh, my goodness. The Pad Kee Mao is for tomorrow! Spice level four this time. I opted not to go Thai hot this time around. My husband ordered Chicken Pad Thai, his usual at a level one and he said it was spot on. He also ordered spring rolls which he said were savory, not overly oily and seasoned to perfection. It has to be said - S&S Thai Mini Mart is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of Thai cuisine, a testament to sustainable farming, and a beacon of community spirit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and experience the magic of S&S Thai Mini Mart. You'll leave with a full stomach and a full heart. A couple of things to note, they have one table that can seat six. I didn't think to ask Jason if they were planning on more tables. I will say everyone who came in ordered their food to go. They have online ordering which is a breeze with their QR code or you may go to sandsthatkitchen.com DoorDash and Uber Eats are also available. Their hours are seven days a week 10am-8pm. They are right behind McDonals right on the end of the shopping center. 87-2070 Farmington Hwy When you go tell them Deb sent you and enjoy!

Other Thai restaurants pack their curry with filler, but this place doesn't! Their curry is the absolute best and their staff are always welcoming snd friendly. I would just go here for the great food alone, but the great staff makes it with an easy 5 stars. Parking is a little rough here, but that's because people are always eating here so you may need to pack a little far away. There is only one handicap stall, and so be ready to walk a little. Pricing is fair. Things have definitely gone up, but if you want cheap Thai food you won't get this kind of quality. I easily spend $50 to $100 on two people when I eat here so it's more of a treat and not an every day meal. It's great food and so I only get to treat myself when I can afford it. We can't live in luxury every day, and this Thai food is definitely a luxury! It has been so difficult to find one as perfect as they were. So, we are very well experienced in Thai food even in Thailand multiple times. The green curry was so awful tasting that we didn't eat it. I've never had green curry that didn't even taste like thai green curry like this. Not sure if fill in cook at lunchtime or what but it didn't even have coconut cream in the sauce. Had to take home to fix this problem, worst ever and would never recommend. Same with the Pad Si-Ew. Totally flavorless! You could tell they just threw it together with precooked pork, precooked broccoli, and tossed it onto the noodles barely fried in a dead sauce of nothing. Another total failure. Do not recommend this or any if this is how they prepare their food. Rice was standard. Will never return to this location again.
