Our first time and we shared 2 plates and had to take leftovers home! It's not a fancy place but who cares if the food and service is great! Both dishes are full of flavors! Not greasy, taste amazing! Let's support our local restaurants!!

The restaurant is tucked away next to Hanabusas or walking distance from the Waianae Police Station. For the Nachos appetizers, it's actually huge won ton type chips either your topping choice. We picked lemongrass chicken. We couldn't stop eating that. The shaken beef was substantial... lots of rice and salad. Did summer rolls for take out as I was going to eat them for lunch the next day. The two pieces were pretty big and I liked that they put more lettuce than noodles...but that's just me. The menu is pretty big so we'd have to come again to try sone of the other stuff!!!

We parked next to the restaurant. Big open parking lot. The staff was friendly, there was indoor and outdoor seating. The food came out quick and delicious. Very good and open atmosphere. They have a very very vast menu! Will try something different next time

I wanted dinner at 9:15p in Waianae and I almost resorted to a Fast Food place until I drove past their location where they had a flashing "Open" sign. I called and they were open until 10p! I wish I knew their hours weekly. I'll update it if I find out. My guess is M-Sat 10a-10p, and Closed on Sundays. Give 'em a call for accuracy lol. I'll try to remember to update this post if I ever find out. They might have Kamaaina or Military discount, according to their Waikiki IG, but I'm not sure if it's location specific. Glad I could support local! A bit bummed they don't have an online menu I could find so I took pics of their 6-face menu and posted it. Hopefully it'll help you decide what you want as it'll help me for sure when I come back in the future. There's definitely the option to dine in if you want. They have AC and the dine in area was clean which is definitely something to appreciate. One of the employees was a kind Asian dude in his 20s and he was kind and professional. If you were wondering if a take out order was possible, it sure is! I did a phone/pick-up order lol.

The food was good, especially the green curry but the service was even better. Our waiter was kind, funny, and helpful.

The wrapping of my Firecracker Shrimp Which should've been dipped in batter
    Reyferd R.

I ordered the Larb (Beef), Firecracker Shrimp and Peking Bao (Pork). First off the toasted rice in the Larb was not toasted at all and the untoasted rice was not finely grinded. My Firecracker shrimp was also terrible. The picture indicated that it was dipped in some kind of batter and deep fried. What I had was 4pcs of shrimp that was wrapped up in Won Ton wraps which by the time I got home was not crunchy and turf like leather. Now the last dish was the Peking Boa, once again the picture looked appetizing and fresh. But as I opened the container at home I realised that the chicken that they gave me wasn't fresh most likely microwaved ontop of that isn't even what I ordered, I had ordered the Pork This sucks because my sin and nephew told me thus place is good. I love Vietnamese, Thai, Laos food because it's almost similar to my Filipino heritage and Waianae doesn't have a Filipino restaurant. I wanna give this place another try because the customer service was supah good and reading these other reviews it seems I'm the only one that got the bad batch I paid over $30 on these meals and it sucks to write this but it needed to be said. Hope it gets back to VIET 808 and this doesn't happen again to anyone else. Aloha&Mahalo

It's not too spicy and is packed with flavor. I put it on everything. This location in Wai'anae can be pretty busy on the weekend but it's worth the wait, if there is one. Occasionally I come during the week and it is a little calmer. The inside is big and open and has plenty of seating for large families. The service is always good. The food is always consistent and delicious. The broth is my favorite on the westside. Just the right amount of spices. I haven't tried the meat toppings, maybe I will eventually. The tempura veggies is a new fav of mine. The gyoza is stuffed full, perfectly crispy and well flavored. Their spring rolls are crispy light and delicious. I'm gonna order that steak next time for real! Each time I come someone orders it and it smells so good, come sour sizzling and turning everyone's head when it comes out of the kitchen.

(formerly S&S Thai Kitchen at Ka makana ali') My affection for this restaurant is boundless, and there are countless reasons why it stands out as my favorite island eatery. First and foremost, S&S Thai Mini Mart commitment to quality and sustainability is unparalleled. An impressive 70% of their produce is sourced directly from their own farms in Kahuku, ensuring that every dish is as fresh as it is flavorful. The absence of MSG in their cooking is a testament to their dedication to health and authenticity, making every meal a guilt-free indulgence. As a vegan, dining out can sometimes be a challenge, but S&S Thai Mini Mart has always been exceptionally accommodating. Their willingness to customize meals without hesitation is something I've always appreciated. Whether it's adjusting dishes to suit dietary preferences or experimenting with new flavors, their customer service is top-notch. The soul of S&S Thai Mini Mart is undoubtedly its owners, Tammy and Jason. Their love for the community shines through in everything they do, from the warm welcome they extend to every guest to their efforts to give back to the island. Moving to Nanakuli, they've not only continued to offer their authentically authentic Thai dishes but also expanded their menu to include Korean specialties and a variety of market items. This expansion has only added to the charm and appeal of the restaurant, making it a culinary hub for both locals and visitors alike. Let me add they have a good selection of authentic seasonings, sauces, noodles and such. We picked up a thing or two while we were there. Oh! They also have ox tail and other meats and fish! Fresh (frozen though) and very smartly priced. The food was as delicious as ever. I ordered Yellow Curry and Pad Kee Mao. I ate the curry there and it was so creamy, rich and satisfying. The right balance on onions, carrots, potato's oh, my goodness. The Pad Kee Mao is for tomorrow! Spice level four this time. I opted not to go Thai hot this time around. My husband ordered Chicken Pad Thai, his usual at a level one and he said it was spot on. He also ordered spring rolls which he said were savory, not overly oily and seasoned to perfection. It has to be said - S&S Thai Mini Mart is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of Thai cuisine, a testament to sustainable farming, and a beacon of community spirit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and experience the magic of S&S Thai Mini Mart. You'll leave with a full stomach and a full heart. A couple of things to note, they have one table that can seat six. I didn't think to ask Jason if they were planning on more tables. I will say everyone who came in ordered their food to go. They have online ordering which is a breeze with their QR code or you may go to sandsthatkitchen.com DoorDash and Uber Eats are also available. Their hours are seven days a week 10am-8pm. They are right behind McDonals right on the end of the shopping center. 87-2070 Farmington Hwy When you go tell them Deb sent you and enjoy!

For me the big winner was the yellow curry and the Pad Thai, but honestly everything was good. My only disappointment was that there was no soy sauce or other condiments.
