I forgot what this was called but little bit spicy

So today the wife wanted to get some lunch so we Went to Thai Lao. I always wanted to go here for a while. It wasn't too busy found parking it's a nice spot to go and get some food service was good and the food was great. There is a restroom in the restaurant I would go back to try the dishes we didn't have. Mellow not noisy

Gung Ob Woon Sen (Thai Style Pasta)

We ordered online and took our food to go. The Pad Kra Pao with beef was yummy, as were the summer rolls, and Pla Meuk Mano (steamed fish with lime juice). The fried spring rolls were also good. I didn't care for the Gung Ob Woob Sen as the noodles were overcooked and dry yet oily and the shrimps were black on one side, and the house chicken salad was okay but underwhelming. The service was fast and friendly and indoors was calm and quiet. The price point is high in my opinion overall. If we come back we'll eat at the restaurant and will post an update.

Farmers Market Pop-up review. We always make it a point to hit them up when they attend the Hoopili Festival st. market. We love getting the BOGO pork sticks- Buy 4 bbq pork sticks get one free! We also usually get the curry and fried chicken plate, yum!

It's been awhile and the flavors are back!!! The food was fresh and everything we had was pretty amazing. We ordered papaya salad, padsew, red curry, beef fried rice, pad phet and spring rolls. If I had to pick surprisingly it was the padsew. The noodles were delicious and they got the dark sauce to highlight the dish. I asked the waitress if they have a new chef and she said yes. You can totally tell. They are back on my good list!

I ordered sai Oua for to go, and this is what I received, burnt sausages. I don't think this can even be called food anymore. And I spent almost $50 for this meal. I've never seen a restaurant serve food this badly before.

My only Thai food spot near home that I religiously get take out from! Finally dined in for a late lunch and it was quiet with fast service. Servers are always so nice and tentative. Food is astonishing! I sadly get the same thing every time because I just love these dishes so much :) pad si ew is my top favorite dish with extra beef! No where else makes it like them! I also recently started loving the green curry fried rice with chicken which is surprisingly a good alternative if you don't want to get curry and rice. I also usually get pad Thai but that would've been too much food for me and my friend given these portions are huge.

Spring Rolls (Deep Fried)

Thai Lao our favorite Thai restaurant on the West Side. Great Thai food perfectly prepared and delicious. Those Stuffed Chicken Wings are wonderful with the Sweet Thai Chili Sauce. We tried the Seafood Rice Noodle Salad. Wonderful dish light and fresh. A definite must try. For dessert the seasonal offering was the Mango Sticky Rice. Service was great. Nice cozy dining room. Take out options available.

Been coming to this Thai restaurant every since it opened many years ago. It's our go-to for Thai food. Dinner on a Saturday night at 6pm and there was only one other table filled. I suspect most of their business is take-out cuz there is a steady stream of ppl picking up. Anyhow, food is consistently awesome and so is the service. Highly recommended. Four stars.

This restaurant is a local Thai restaurant. I came in for some to go food a couple weeks ago. And then my visitor came in for some soup. And my husband wanted to try the restaurant on date night last week. Are used to go to my favorite restaurant in Pearl city, so I was kind of skeptical, but the food is really good.

Lunch for 2. Food was bland and tasteless. Service was ok. It was casual place. Won't be back. The price doesn't match the quality of food.

House Special

Discovered this restaurant at the weekly Night Market in Wai Kai and I've heard really good things about the actual restaurant. Their food stand did not disappoint!! Got their house special plate, which comes with pad Thai, lemongrass fried chicken and a choice of curry. This will get you full and satisfied ASAP.

Ask the Community - Thai Lao Restaurant

Do you serve stuffed bitter melon soup?

What are the vegan options?

You can do tofu pad Thai without fish sauce & egg. Still delicious. Or Panang curry with no fish sauce/meat. They're pretty accommodating with dietary restrictions, just ask :)

Other Thai restaurants pack their curry with filler, but this place doesn't! Their curry is the absolute best and their staff are always welcoming snd friendly. I would just go here for the great food alone, but the great staff makes it with an easy 5 stars. Parking is a little rough here, but that's because people are always eating here so you may need to pack a little far away. There is only one handicap stall, and so be ready to walk a little. Pricing is fair. Things have definitely gone up, but if you want cheap Thai food you won't get this kind of quality. I easily spend $50 to $100 on two people when I eat here so it's more of a treat and not an every day meal. It's great food and so I only get to treat myself when I can afford it. We can't live in luxury every day, and this Thai food is definitely a luxury! Their current restaurant dining area itself has an authentic Thai vibe, and sometimes they even play Thai music on the digital screen in the dining area. If you eat here then prepare to be immersed in Thai culture!

It has been so difficult to find one as perfect as they were. So, we are very well experienced in Thai food even in Thailand multiple times. Ordered green chicken curry, Pad Si-Eiw, spring rolls, rice. The spring rolls were good, lettuce leaves were tiny but fresh, dipping sauce was great too. The green curry was so awful tasting that we didn't eat it. I've never had green curry that didn't even taste like thai green curry like this. Not sure if fill in cook at lunchtime or what but it didn't even have coconut cream in the sauce. Had to take home to fix this problem, worst ever and would never recommend. Same with the Pad Si-Ew. Totally flavorless! You could tell they just threw it together with precooked pork, precooked broccoli, and tossed it onto the noodles barely fried in a dead sauce of nothing. Another total failure. Do not recommend this or any if this is how they prepare their food. Rice was standard. Will never return to this location again. Can't imagine where or how the good reviews came from but from our experience, they weren't even close.

First, found the restaurant tooked into the corner next to Buffalo Wild Wings. Upon entering, the restaurant has a great upscale atmosphere with outdoor seating. A few bar seating up front as you wait to be seated. But during this weekday lunch, there was just one other family seated. Service was quick as I already knew what I wanted. Possibly because of its upscale vibe, prices are $6 -$7 more than other places. Food was tasty. Portions are large and so I was able to take home my leftovers. Bathroom is nice and clean. The only thing is that there's a large frosted Pictor window making the restroom really warm and muggy. I would recommend this place, but not for everyday dining due to the higher end price.

It's a nice mom and pop feel with a pane of pexi-glass between tables. It feels like private tables. I had a cup of coffee served in a nice ceramic cup labeled with their name on it. I had a bowl of loco moco which was very good. The gravy was well seasoned and it went well with the white rice. The hamburger itself was flavorful and heavy, just the way I like it. The kama'aina fried rice was filled with lots of meat: bacon, spam, ham, and Portuguese sausage. It was pretty good. The pancake flight was okay. Would've been better if I could choose the pancakes. Overall, the lilikoi pancake was the best! I didn't too much favor the chocolate taro-haupia or the cookie butta lava. The Kalua pork omelette was good, but I wish there was more meat inside. All the portions were very generous. The only thing we didn't like was that everything was overloaded with onions. And I LOVE onions, but even I thought it was too much. For that reason, my family didn't care too much for their meals. Overall, we had a fair experience. Seating is a little tight, but we were still comfortable. The only inconvenience was the bathroom on the top floor, which can be difficult when you have little kids.
