I don't normally write reviews, and I have decided to wait a very long time into the near completion of my kids orthodontics care to do so. That way, I can give a true, honest, and accurate review of Dr. Derek Wong's office. My daughter was a preschooler who fell down the slide face first and knocked her front tooth upwards into her gums. Like any parent, we scrambled all around town seeking consultation. We stepped foot into more ortho offices than we can count on both hands. Dr. Wong's office wasn't the largest or fanciest by any means, but it was clean and effiecient. As a result, he's able to pass his lower overhead cost as savings to his patients. His office was the least pretentious one, and their prices were pretty fair compared to all others around the area. Nonetheless, his office was also the most welcoming and warm one we encountered, which would reflect through the years we have spent with them for our kids oral care. The consultation was quick, and so were the many office visits. There have been offices we stepped foot into, and it felt like we spent the entire day waiting. But not at Dr. Wond's office. If you care about having quick in and out visits, this is the place to go. As our kids are nearing the completion of their orthodontics care, we can clearly see results. That's what anyone should be looking for in braces. Dr. Wong and his staff are very personable and know everyone who steps foot thru their doors. They make sure you feel like family, which is a plus in my books. If I can give 6 stars in my review, I would do just that. It has been a very pleasant experience having Dr. Wong as our kids' orthodontist. My two teenagers always leave his office without mopping and groaning, and only with smailes. I brought my 15 yo for an evaluation for braces. This is a no frills very conservative looking office but the front desk and Dr. Wong couldn't be any more professional, kind and knowledgeable! On my consultation day, the office staff took x-ray on me; Dr. Wong explained to me in detail what my teeth's issue is and gave me honest opinions on what I should do. I was so nervous before I came to the office, because I was still not sure if I made the right decision to get braces as an adult. However, once I got into Dr. Wong's office and saw how professional Dr. Wong and his staff are, all my anxiety was gone. They guided me step by step: the ladies in front desk explained to me very well what the braces processes(what kind of things they will do on me), and how the monthly payment works. Then Gladys and Dr. Wong started to put the metals and rubber band on my teeth. They are very efficient and professional; the process was quick and easy. When I first got braces over 15 years ago I never thought I'd be getting them again, Invisalign this time, but here we are. When I met with Dr. Wong for my initial consultation he was professional, polite and extremely knowledgeable. From my X-rays he was able to determine that I previously had a jaw expander and all other work done without being informed or having access to my dental records. After my consultation I was sold by his level of expertise. Fast forward to almost three years later, for failure on my part to wear my trays more diligently, and I'm extremely happy with the results. My teeth are far straighter than I could have imagined and my overbite is almost nonexistent all thanks to Dr. Wong. I would have been ecstatic if I was done with my treatment months ago as I think my teeth are great, but Dr. Wong has kept me and my teeth hostage because he wants perfection. If Dr. Wong was my first orthodontist then I probably wouldn't need to straighten my teeth once again due to a less qualified orthodontist. His prices are higher than other orthodontists I was quoted by but he is worth every penny and then some. I never thought I would be happy about getting braces, as an adult patient, I was really nervous about the process. I am relieved my coworker referred me. During the (free) consultation, I received information about the ortho options and it was easy to understand. I was on a metal braces treatment plan for a little over two years, but Dr. Wong and his staff made it a really smooth journey! From our first consultation, Dr. Wong had been very patient, empathetic, and informative every step of the way. Treating an adult with an underbite/cross-bite comes with a some risks. I especially appreciate his honesty and clarity when he went over the outcomes of each possible treatment with me. Thankfully, we were able to go with the least invasive, yet successful plan. Now equipped with plastic retainers, I have never been more comfortable with my smile! Each visit was very efficient. Throughout this entire time, Dr. Wong's staff has been nothing but cordial, and courteous. Each appointment was easy to set up; they also send reminders a few days before each one.
