Izraelski salad, great w black rye
    Svetlana P.

This place is a definite must. I read the reviews, and was a bit concerned about buying refrigerated products, especially since I had a 3 hr drive back home with the food in the car - in a cooler, of course. I bought the Izraelski eggplant salad, the julienne mushroom salad, and beef tongue. Oh, goodness! Fresh! Nuanced aroma! The tongue was delicate, tender, and went well with the freshly baked chyorii bread. Also part our afternoon meal were the crepes with meat, and the sweet cheese ones, with our tea. Can hardly wait for dinner, with lamb shashlik and buckwheat side. Thank you for providing such lovely foods! Shout-out to the bomb staff, the two ladies were pleasant, and provided great recommendations!

Ate some cold...so good! Took it home to warm it a bit and it was just incredible!

I was wanting to stop at the Polish market but they're closed on Mondays so I came here and...WOOOOOW, the food was so amazing! I got some soup and beans for the store part, then headed to the counter. The woman spoke enough English to help get me some food. I wanted a stuffed cabbage and meat peroshki. But also, I wanted poppy cake...they were out so the lady recommended a few things on the counter. Sorry I didn't take a picture but the item was an orange triangle thing that was maybe a distant version of a Neapolitan. It was soft and I'm not sure...maybe pumpkin creme inside and coated in almond slivers. I'm eating this unbelievably fresh and delicious thing...suddenly a little rich cherry filling peaks out. WHAT?! Crazy good! Then the last few bites are the Regina;r pumpkin crème and you just sit there in wonder of the amazingness! So, I had wanted the cabbage rolls with meat in tomato sauce and also a meat piroshki. I could have eaten a dozen of either of these...not in one sitting, but yah...these were incredible. I ate the cabbage roll in the car, cold...it was so good. I took only a bit of the piroshki and it took everything to put it in the cooler for later...it was that good. I also had the sweet piroshki with farmers cheese and the rugalah roll. More crazy delicious food! Thank goodness I am going back later this week. I will bring my cooler again and this time, and buy as much of the savory items as I can fit in there so I can freeze some! Can't wait for Friday! I will take a look at some other pics to see if there's anything else I could try, and I still will also give to try the Polish market a try. Some of these things just remind me of childhood.

Fruit snacks and some seasoning for Korean carrot salad

While planning my trip to San Francisco from NyC, I was so excited to visit new world market . I had my hopes a bit high.. staff wasn't very friendly and not helpful ..

    Les Pres Sales butter :)

Glad they sell the infamous Les Pres Sales butter here! I was looking for it all over the city!

I know nothing about Russian food except for Borscht and Vodka. I know, very stereotypical of me, but I am being honest. I had a Russian coworker, who was actually Ukrainian, but referred to himself as Russian who always brought me a spicy type of vodka every time he went home on vacation. Well, that is until the conflict started. Anyways, he told me about this place a few years ago if I wanted to get some Russian food, but I never got around to visiting until recently. Stepping into this place, I had a flashback from watching George Zimmern's Bizarre Food episode when he visited Russia. I remember him eating a cornucopia of charcuterie from headcheese to plain pork fat because they offered those same things here. They even have a sampler tray where you can taste a little bit of everything, and I took full advantage of. The lady over the counter even offered me to taste a sample of whatever I wanted. Of course I went straight for the head cheese and beef tongue, which I bought a pound each. I think I got a little carried away and almost bought a pound each of everything I tasted. Hey, these were all new flavors to me and I was enjoying the moment. Of course Wifey put a damper on things when she finally had to cut me off after the sixth item I ordered. But she went crazy too and bought some smoked fish and several salads. The eggplant salad was my favorite of the salads she bought as it was meaty, tangy and had a familiar flavor to it. On our first visit, I think we spent over $80 worth of items and wanted to try even more so we returned the following week and bought more stuff for dinner. I got some cheese, beer, meats, tongue, jerky and pastry while Wifey got some smoked salmon collars that were dirt cheap but were quite enjoyable. They were on the saltier side, but can easily cut the salt by sprinkling some lemon juice and it was tasty. I guess the lady was so impressed with our purchase that she even gave us a loaf of bologna on the house knowing that we can handle everything that they had to offer. Spasiva!

Local Russian market in Richmond. This place reminds me of New York a little bit, everyone speaks Russian and endless selections of Russian food and snacks.

It is also the oldest corned beef company established in San Francisco as well. We only like to get our Povi from Roberts Corned Meats because the quality of it beats anywhere else. I've tried other Povi Masimas and can taste the difference. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY is touching Robert's Corned Meats. The gentleman Edgar I believe was his name had helped us as we did an over the phone order for 8 whole boxes and asked them to seal each one as we were sending the boxes to family overseas. The transaction was very fast as always! Sign a paper, provide the money and wait for your boxes to come out. Boom, done! Each time we get an order, the worker always provides the service to load our car with the Povi which is such a huge plus! We really appreciate the generosity and great service each visit! This is why this place gets such a high rating, the service is top tier and the meats are top notch! The parking is super rough as it's on one of the busiest streets in the city near the freeways but trust me it's worth the struggle. There is an alleyway around the corner of the building you can park in but it is a hit or miss. It is also cash preferred/only as well! The inside of the place is always clear and neutral setting. I love that it has so many old school pictures to view! It's also very clean as well! They offer so many other meats as well, sausages, bacon, linguica, pastrami, brisket, beef tongue, pork legs and cooked meats. I might be missing a few but I'm telling you, this is the place to get your meats. It's truly worth it! There is a reason Roberts Corned Meats are still in business for so many years, they are the real deal. Thank you Roberts Corned Meats for your amazing service and items served, you've placed a mark on a lot of us Polynesians - specifically my Samoan people. The functions won't ever be the same without your Povi Masima! I hope you all look into this place and love it just as my family and folks do. You won't regret it.

First time I got a leg of lamb and more recently some double cut pork chops…read more I'm sure they are helpful if you ask questions but they were pretty busy both times I came in and it felt like you needed to know what you wanted for the most part. For the leg of lamb, I think most people get a whole leg of lamb. That was way too much for me and I think the butcher thought I was confused when I asked for less and asked me what I was doing with it. He ended up saying he could give me a half leg of lamb and I agreed. Thar was about 3 and a half pounds (bone included) which was the perfect amount. I seared it and then braised it and the meat fell off the bone. Delicious and the price was pretty good. I was cooking my first pork chop and decided to come here to get it. Their pork isn't labeled as Berkshire or Duroc or anything but that probably keeps the price down. For chops, they had boneless, bone in, and double cut (which was also bone in). I mentioned I wanted it to be about 2 inches thick and the butcher said to get the double cut.I got 2 beautiful thick pork chops for $6.99 a pound so about $18 total. The regular cut bone in pork chops were the same price though obviously smaller. I brined this overnight and reverse seared it and it was great. The chop was a loin chop- loin and then a tenderloin nugget- not a pure rib chop. Cooked really nicely and was tender which I think was partially the overnight brine and also their pork. They do sell some vegetables and grocery supplies if you want to just make a single stop. They also have a deli with some sandwiches that looked good and prepared foods. I was very focused on buying the things I came in for and getting on with my day both times but I would like to take a closer look in the future as it looked good. Solid butcher shop and clearly loved since it was busy both on a weekend and during the week. I'm sure I will be back.
