Finally, lamb chops! I was able to get a great amount of lamb chops cut for me! They have a great selection of other meats as well, but I was just there for the lamb. They also have pate and truffle butter! The staff was quick. The price is somewhat steep, but it is San Francisco. This is a quiet place in a quiet area of town. I'll be back!

When it comes to butcher shops/meat markets, I am a real snob as I look for the freshness, cariety of cuts, knowledgeable staff, and most importantly, a generous amount of positive Yelp reviews. However, many of these types of places are now a dying breed while the majority of people purchase their meats at big box supermarkets (Costco, Whole Foods, Albertsons, etc). Which takes me to the city where I had the opportunity in checking out "San Francisco Meat Co". Located on Fell St. and adjacent to Gough St. in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, this is one of the newer meat stores that has only been around since May 2023. But in that amount of time, there has been more than enough positive Yelp reviews to warrant me checking this place out. Hours of operation are 10am-7pm seven days a week while parking tends to be a little easier to find in this part of the city. I came here during the late afternoon of Saturday 4/12/2025 at around 4:50pm as the outdoor sign made this place easy to find. The interior layout of this place is small but packs a ton of choices in the enclosed glass display case. Here you will find vast selections of ground beef, ground pork, lamb, stir-fry, sirloin, tri-tip, brisket, bacon, sausages, and much more. And to those that wish to eat something right away, they also make sandwiches on several types of bread (Dutch Crunch, Rustic, Sourdough, and Wheat) with a variety of protein options (Roast Beef, Pastrami, Mortadella, Salami, etc). After thoroughly gazing through the choices, I finally settled with a beautifully-marbled cut of the dry rub pepper ribeye steak (which was approximately 3/4 lbs). Since I only had a very small portable container with freezer packs, I couldn't take much more since I live a couple hours away from here. Jump forward to the following day and this steak was hands down amazingly delicious on my propane grill with the perfect amount of dry rub as each bite was absolutely mouth watering. Even though "San Francisco Meat Co" might be one of the newer kids in town, this place is absolutely excellent. The guys that worked behind the counter was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable while the prices on many cuts were surprisingly reasonable. Next time I come here, I will bring a much larger cooler as I hope to take home a lot more. If you're a true die-hard carnivore as myself, give this place a try. My rating, a perfect five stars.

very tasty $5 hot dogs. they ran out of hot dog buns so served it to us on a french roll. wide range of stock inside, excited to see binchotan. there's only two seats inside so would recommend eating elsewhere.

With the purchase of an item. They left this part out but they tell you in store. Otherwise, a lb of ground beef is $10+.

The hot dogs are amazing. They are so flavorful and remind me of Dodger Dogs at the LA stadium. We will definitely be back because you can't beat them for $5 each. They are super big and worth every penny. They said they stop seeking them at 6pm so even though they are open past 6pm, get there earlier for a delicious hot dog. They also said they will be offering classes in how to cook their meat because they have such a great selection.

I had a very good sandwich from this neighborhood butcher shop! It was a $20 sandwich (including 20% tip) but I thought it was fair considering the quality and the size of the product. Pastrami sandwich on a Dutch Crunch was delicious and such a nice feel to hold, it was a good choice. The shop also sells various cuts of beef, pork, sausages and duck as well as Wagyu A5 beef. Very friendly service and a bright welcoming shop for those of you like me, living in the neighborhood and likes good quality meats and sandwiches.

The quality is always on point (you get what you pay for) and the process is easy to preorder. The main thing to plan for is the long wait in line to pick up your preorder. In prior years, I've usually picked up on Christmas Eve and the wait can exceed 90 mins to 2 hours depending on when you arrive - this is the case even when you doorbust at opening time. This year, we picked up on the 23rd and arrived around opening time, and it only took 30 minutes. There are also very high quality pantry goods to peruse and purchase, including pasta, mustards, spices, tinned goods, etc. Onto the meat: I preordered late this year so got 21 day aged prime rib roast (would usually aim for 45+ days), but honestly it was hard to tell the difference. I ordered the roast pre seasoned, cradled and tied for ease and it was very high quality, easy to cook and delicious. Shoutout to the very friendly and hardworking staff at Olivier's - I see yall fighting for your lives trying to control that line every year (lol). Thank you for your service!
