I have been going to New York Bagel's 2 locations for almost 20 years now. I give them 5 stars for a consistently excellent bagel. They have set the bar for an everything, or" works" bagel, which I still hold all other shops to this day. Besides the excellent works bagel, the Asiago is fantastic and pretty much any other variety as well. These are the best bagels in the area. My standbys include: Asiago, sun-dried tomato, or cinnamon raisin. The cream cheese is delicious too and they typically spread it really thick. Drove here after coming from an event at a local High School. Glad I was not disappointed. Best cream cheese variety selection -- I was genuinely torn between the Horseradish and Scallion and Roasted Garlic and Herb. In the end, I love that the horseradish and scallion won as it was simply deee-liciious on my toasted Asiago bagel. I also decided to try their Walnut Cranberry Chicken Salad on Rye bread (for lunch!) and it, too, was very good. Pity, I did not try the coffee as someone here reviewed it to be good. Having a drive thru service is smart. I'm a fan of really good bagels and this one lives up to the New York name. Would definitely make a trip there part of my itinerary should I go to that Fall River area again. read more

Having lived in Brooklyn 10 years, I've missed a decent bagel. I'm thrilled to have stumbled on New York Bagel. I encountered them while at Miriam Hospital, (A Jewish hospital, so the term "decent bagel" has some meaning.) and asked where they got the bagels from. I purchased some to freeze, as they freeze just fine. I had the pumpernickel, always my favorite, and have it simply toasted with gobs of butter and a sprinkle of salt. It was perfect. I tried the asiago, and it was nice, but lighter, more like Au Bon Pain, not repeatable for me. read more

I just spent 10.69 for a garden salad, with chicken salad and an iced coffee, through the drive thru. As I drove away I sipped the iced coffee and it was flavored. I had requested a decaf iced coffee. I turned around and returned the drink and got, hopefully, a decaf. The lettuce in the salad is iceberg, and not nice iceberg - the core, all yellow, white and brown. Not good. I threw most of it away. The chicken salad with walnuts and cranberry is usually very good, but this time was loaded with gristle and tendons. When you spend this much for a garden salad, NY Bagel should spring for some green, healthy lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and cleaned out chicken. read more

Make sure you get your receipt and review it carefully. I've gone to this location 4 times and I kid you not all 4 times I've gone they have overcharged me! I happened to be there last week and the man in front of me was asked to pay $14.00 and he said "what??? For a bagel sandwich and coffee" the girl said yes the guy began to ask how it totaled that price and the girl stated cheese was extra on a sandwich?? Long story short the girl owed him back money.. had he not inquired he would have been overcharged.. now here I come in and get a bagel the girl tells me a bagel with "flavored" cream cheese is more.. I love New York Bagel. I dislike the rude woman who works the drive thru. I asked for an onion bagel in which she proceeded to rudely tell me they do not have onion bagels. Confused, as it is on the menu, I asked if they stopped carrying them. She angrily yells at me that they ran out. I'm sorry, but the correct answer is "oh, I am sorry we are all out of onion bagels." I love these bagels. They taste different (in such a good way) from the usual bagel fare. My friend and I stopped in and tried two bagel sandwiches. I got the egg salad (a bit bland so I would add some pepper in the future) on an asiago bagel and he got the seafood salad on a rye. Both were delicious and huge. We got 2 deliciously crisp and sour pickles and a really nicely done iced caramel coffee all for around $20. I'm not from the area but if I did live nearby I'd be in here all the time. Rude service! They act annoyed if you ask ANY questions. I am allergic to pickles so I asked if the chicken salad had any diced/chopped pickles because I have had issues at other places. The girl said "yeah I don't make it so I wouldn't know" Really? ? So no one can answer allergy related questions? Then I take a look at the prices $8 for a sandwich $3 for a bagel with cream cheese seems ridiculous especially with a city full of coffee shops and restaurants. I'm not sure why this place has bad reviews. I recently came here with my fiance and we both loved the bagels! We both got cinnamon sugar bagels with plain cream cheese and ice coffees and we had no complaints. We are not from the area, but if we were in town we would definitely return! The food is great, although a bit pricey. But worth it with all the great selections of bagels and cream cheese. They literally have the best pickles I've ever eaten. The downsides are that there is no bacon and having a CLT (cheese, lettuce and tomato) sandwich on the menu is a mockery. Also, the staff are rude teenagers/young adults who act like they have better things to do than serve you. I can get past that though, I just order my food and leave. Are their new owners here now? I see new staff and constantly messing up orders. The bagels went downhill recently. They use to be fluffier and bigger. Now they are like dense small hockey pucks. I think they have been previously frozen. They also used to put a lot more cream cheese on, now it's stingy. For what you pay for a cream cheese bagel, they should be putting a lot more than they do. Stayed with a friend while she was moving. Went to pick up a late breakfast, but had het two small children with me to keep them distracted from the move. Placed a simple bagel order ... 5 plain bagels toasted w/cream cheese, 1 cinnamon raisen w/butter and a chocolate chip bagel and plain bagel as is. I was told my order was to large for the drive thru and I'd have to come inside. I explained I had two small children with me, was there a my way they could run them out to me or I loop around and pick up after everyone else, but I was told "No, if you want this order you have to come in." I did so and as I did I looked everywhere to see if they posted their drive thru limitations. I saw nothing posted. When I got my food and paid I asked why I had to come in and was told the drive up is ment for quick orders. It was frustrating, but I managed. I would have gone to Dunkin cause I needed the convience of the drive thru, and honestly the bagels were just ok and they last two "as is" both came toasted so I the little girl crying the entire ride home. read more

No question outstanding bagels. So much better than the dd ones we usually settle for. Good friendly service. Super for quick "to go" or drive through before beach or birding or a dozen or two to bring into work. Only issue last couple of times we have eaten in is not quite as clean as we remembered it. Coffee stained cloth serving counter. Paper trash on customer counter. Corners on floor under tables and space where tables meet the wall not clean. Fast service and amazing bagels and cream cheese. Definitely beats the bagels at Dunkin Donuts. Drive thru is convenient if you are on the go! Would recommend asiago bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese. Have also had the lox sandwich- thought it was a little overpriced but maybe because I had the lox cream cheese.
