We stopped in and the food was great. The Manhattan clam chowder was full of clams and vegetables. The flounder grinder was delicious. Just finished enjoying dinner with friends. All of us enjoyed our meals in their welcoming environment. We tried their Reuben sandwich, filled with tender meat; their excellent lamb gyro; and my daughter's favorite, grilled cheese. Beef had no describable taste and I wouldn't even give it to my dog, don't know what kind of meat it was. Just had another great meal at NY Deli & Diner in Groton. Great service from the owner in a beautiful, updated setting. The lasagna was filling and the sauce was exceptional. French onion soup was superb ... light & savory with an abundance of cheese and a homemade crouton. They also have a great orange, ginger balsamic salad dressing . This is the second time coming to this restaurant. I was in the mood for Greek food, so who better to make me some was the ever-friendly owner, Katerina! I was itching to try their lunch menu too. I ordered Moussaka with grilled squash, salad and garlic bread. Baklava was huge, the size of 2 servings. The taste of everything was excellent, loved the sauce on the Moussaka! I was curious why there wasn't any yogurt top layer, which is usual for this dish. The grilled squash and garlic bread more than made up for that, however! The Baklava, although huge, was dripping in honey sauce. The sauce was great, but there was a little too much of it. It made it a little soggy instead of crisp. Salad was a mixture of romaine and iceberg. The herb dressing was stellar! I will definitely be back the next time I have a Greek food craving. read more

Another restaurant destined for failure. I do hope I'm wrong and they fix their bugs. I must hold back on my reservations where they are padding their ratings with bogus reviews. Go there expect an hour wait for the food. Expect them to refry the French fries. Do not order the corned beef and pastrami because you will only get pastrami. Do not order the seafood pasta. Not only will you not get your garlic bread you will get sick. They open up a can of hunts pasta sauce and pour it over overcooked mussels. If you order breakfast home fries means French fries. Ordered Togo. Had to wait at least 15 minutes past quoted pickup time. Salad was OK but wife ordered mousaka and it was just a lasagna with none of the sides it said it does..waste of $18. Ordered take out so my review is solely related to that. There was no person in front to get the order from. after 2 minutes decided to walk back and was met by a lady that brought us back to the front. I ordered the Turkey triple decker sandwich. The bread was soggy. The tooth picks got stuck in each quadrant, so it was hard to take it out to eat. I couldn't even eat the cole slaw it looked like just mayo. When you enter this restaurant, you're automatically engaged with the NY city themed decor. There is a lot of open space, making it a nice private dinner. My husband ordered a burger with fries and I ordered a gyro platter. Whenever we go to a new place, my husband always orders a burger because that is what he uses to gage a place and we were pleasantly surprised. The fries were crispy and the burger was cooked exactly to his liking. My gyro was delicious, the meat was salted perfectly and the salad on top was dressed appropriately. I haven't had one in a long time and was unsure about my order placement and after taking my first few bites, I was very happy with my decision! I would absolutely recommend anyone to try it! I REALLY WANT this place to do well, and some of the dishes are GREAT! But the menu is excessive and confusing and some of the food is lackluster. Let's start with the positive. The owner is very personable and wants to make her place a success. She gives good suggestions. My husband was craving wings, so we got those to start. They were mediocre at best - fatty & not really cooked enough (if cooked more the skin could have at least been crispy) We also got French Onion Soup. My husband liked it, to me it was just OK, but it seemed homemade. We also shared a Moussaka platter. DELICIOUS, although different from what I've had in the past. The salad was crisp with a nice herb dressing. The "garlic" bread was pita triangles, but still ok. Personally, I think they need to reorganize and pare down the menu. Stick to the fabulous GREEK and Mediterranean theme. Put Breakfast on a whole different page. and a whole page just for sandwiches. Types of food could be better organized and the ALL CAPS HEAVY font left me feeling overwhelmed. I wish them well and will give them another try soon, but they need to simplify the menus and forget frozen foods. read more

We had an excellent lunch at the diner today. The meatball hero had tons of mozzarella and perfectly cooked shoestring fries. The pastrami hero came with coleslaw and mustard, pastrami was lean, and they were happy to substitute mashed potatoes for fries. Service was friendly, bathrooms spotless. read more
