You are told, if you're lucky enough to get through, that there are no refunds, or the order will be made right next time, which it never is. This place is more geared towards profit than service. We visited New York Fried Chicken which just opened this week. We ordered a few of their chicken combos that included mashed potatoes, cole slaw and 2 rolls. There are no tables inside...this is strictly a carry-out and delivery establishment. There is a very small counter in the front area if take home isn't an option for you. We took ours home - about 15 minutes away - and discovered no rolls and no cole slaw with either dinner. We'll chalk it up to new kinks that need to be worked out. We did call to let them know, got their voicemail and left a message but never received a call back. The chicken was generous in size, nicely breaded and not greasy. I felt it had no taste...bland, under seasoned but that's just my opinion. The potatoes were gummy but the gravy was tasty and everything was piping hot. We also ordered a side of Cauliflower which was very good. Prices are reasonable. read more

They were the only non-pizza restaurant that would deliver food at 12:24am. Ordered food, don't know how long it took to get to my hotel room. I did not ask and was not told how long it would take. Delivery man arrived, showed him a Visa card, he said "I was told that you want to pay with a card." I said "and here's a card." He said "I don't have a card machine." I let him know that I did not have cash. He said "Could you please call the restaurant and let them know that you'll be paying with a card?" I did and added a decent tip. The food was not great. After some communication problem with the order taker (trying to describe where I was in the campground) the order was taken and paid for. Joe's delivery had a bit of a problem finding my site but after a phone call he found me. The chicken was unbelievably crispy and not greasy. The mashed potatoes and gravy was good. Yet another visit to this mediocre place. My experiences vary each time, so the first conclusion is that there is not consistent performance. While the food is usually great, sometimes there is more to it. Tonight my wife and I stopped in at 8:54 pm and ordered 2 pieces of chicken and an Italian beef sandwich. There was one person in front of us waiting, and we sat back to wait as well. I paid with my credit card, got the receipt to sign for the merchant, as well as mine. Shortly after that there appeared to be some chaos as the CC terminal showed that it was offline. They made repeated phone calls, and in the process I heard a number of comments and conversations that should not have been in earshot of a customer. After waiting almost 15 minutes for our food, with not comment that there might be a delay, the lady that took my credit card in the first place asked me if I could verify that my CC purchase had gone through. Again, there were many comments within earshot that should not have been made by the cashier. The implication for a bit was that I might need to run my card again. Exactly 20 minutes after we placed our order, the cashier called us to the counter and showed us our food. She told us that she knew the transaction did not go through, but this food was on her expense. I am dubious about that.... So at the end of the evening we got food that tasted great, waited a long time for it, and were treated in a rather unprofessional manner while there. read more

Honestly it really reminded me of my grandma's, cooked in a cast iron skillet. Potatoes are meh. But The gravy is sooo good. Fried okra and mushrooms were standard fare, but include no sauce, which was weird. Spicy wings were really nice. They weren't like buffalo, the heat was baked into the breading. Warm and kind of smoky, I loved them. And they were freeeee! All in all, a great place. The food was delivered in less time than quoted online. I love fried chicken so much. They would not deliver to a hotel 8 minutes away due to closing at 3am. I cannot believe they were refusing service 50 min until closing. So ridiculous. The wife says the chicken has very little taste, I tried it and it lacked salt and seasoning unlike their competitors. I had cat fish filet and the pieces were thin and also lacking in flavor. They also left out 2 rolls in my order. Probably will not go back their as this is second time and the different things that I had were definitely not flavorful. They have gyros and burgers that I would like to try but something tells me if they lack flavor in the few things that I had, that it is not going to change. Also, I saw 2 large freezers in the back that the workers were digging out of and just throwing in the fryer, I can do that at home and probably get better results.
