This is a gem of a place in St Cloud. Tucked in a gas station and not what you would expect from great quality food! They have your gyro to kabobs to salad to many things Middle Eastern to enjoy! Portions are plentiful and the flavors and freshness are spot on! You can eat there or take out but it's definitely a must hit in this town! I love going here!

I am admittedly a novice when it comes to east, west, or South African food! First time, didn't know what I was walking into. But turns out? Absolute gem. The space itself is clean, bright, and surprisingly spacious. And what came was heavy-hitting. Portions? Massive. The mango juice? Pure tropical sunshine. The goat? Tender, rich, full of flavor. The rice? Fragrant, fluffy, and this is coming from someone who's ruthless when it comes to rice standards. But the dish that stole my heart was the sambusa--crisp shell, soft pillow inside, savory meat bursting through. A perfect bite every time. Can I have a box of these to take home please?! Bottom line: Mama Safia's turned my nerves into a craving. Clean, comfortable, and food worth coming back for. Next visit, I'm bringing additional backup.

It was well spiced, delicious to bit and really went well with the different bread like options. I ordered a mango smoothie that was an absolute hit. Tasted like an elevated mango lassi. We also got the Somali tea which tasted similar to a chai latte and was exceptional as well and only $2. It was good service, quick and overall just had a very pleasant time being there. Vibe was great and it was a chill atmosphere. Only thing I would say is that one entree was definitely enough for two people in our experience. We got leftovers and it wasn't crazy expensive but next time.

It was a nice walk over the Mississippi River. The place is cozy and very clean. We were welcomed with so much warmth it was like having home cooking. We started out with the bread with feta. It was so good with the right amount of seasonings. I wanted to try the dowjic soup so I ordered a cup. I loved it! Yes it's lemony and has a lot of garlic which you could think is a lot of salt but these bright tangy flavors were right up my alley. Not to mention that with all that lemon and garlic it's great for your immune system. After a long flight this hit the spot. For entrees I had the bakla with chicken. So healthy and fresh. The rice had dill. Very tasty. My dad and his girlfriend had the Sheik Babani. They loved it. We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back on a Saturday in order to try the chicken Tawa which is only available Fridays and Saturdays. We had first gone there on Thursday. So glad we got a chance to try that too because the chicken was so tender and flavorful. Wish we were able to go again but they were closed Monday on our last day. Congrats to all the staff and owners for making this family restaurant a special place to eat.

Wow. This is the…read morefirst time eating Dave's Hot Chicken (from the St. Paul Ford Parkway, Mn location). I don't know why it took this long to try it out, but I'm glad I did! I told my wife and 11 year old daughter today that this was going to be dinner, so text me what they wanted from Dave's Hot Chicken. The wife wanted the two slider (hot) meal with fries, no drink. The daughter wanted the 10 piece bites (mild) with fries and the Powerade slushy. I miss-ordered, this resulting in a large bill. First time error, but shame on me. I ordered 5 Ala Cart extra hot chicken fingers. The final bill was about $85.00!!!! I paid it, and was handed a receipt, and an electronic pager (yes, these still exist!). Seeing as everything is made to order unless you order online ahead of time, I expected a wait since I ordered in person. The Highland location wasn't too busy, so I got my food in about 12 minutes. I requested extra Dave's sauce, and they accommodated with about 6 extra packs at no charge. Just be aware, that sauce packets cost extra, so they did me a solid. Since I got 2 extra orders of fries, I punched a hole in the fry containers with a knife since it would take about 10 minutes to get home. I may have ate "some" of the fries while enroute. Fantastic. Crispy, hot, and well seasoned. When I arrived home, I was admonished by my wife and child that I got way too much food. But the accolades after they tried the food were amazing. They loved it. I loved it, and the dog, much to her chagrin, did not love it because it was a bit spicy for her. She got none. My daughter's meal was great. No spice (mild), and she loved the chicken bites and fries. My wife only ate one slider (hot) because the slider totally eclipsed the bun. She said it was very good. I tried all their food and then my extra hot tender. It was pretty spicy, but I may have to order the Reaper next time. Side note: The bill, as mentioned earlier was about $85.00. That's way too expensive for a fast casual meal for 3 people. That fault was mine. I accidentally ordered 5 Ala Cart extra hot chicken tender meals. I should have prepared better, and the cost would have hovered around $40.00. Still a bit spendy, but well worth it for the food quality. Lesson learned. Anyway, this was a great meal, and we will have it again in the near future. The only major downside was the Powerade slushy my daughter ordered. It was way too sweet. The attached picture was after we ate!
