It was pretty crowded when we arrived but we didn't have to wait long before we were seated. Dominique our Server helped us decide what to order. She was awesome and fun and we could tell she loved her job and the food there. I love that! She highly recommended the garlic knots so we started with those. My husband got Chicken Marsala on Dominique's recommendation. I ordered Chicken Cannelloni. The portions are very generous and I ended up taking some home for a nice treat later. We had minimal interaction with the staff, only the driver, who was friendly. The pizzas were all tasty, and as i mentioned delivered hot and ready to eat. They didn't skimp on toppings, especially for the meat lovers pizzas, they were loaded up. The crust wasn't anything that WOWed me though, it was soft, and thin, but lacked any real flavor. But any pizza is good pizza in my opinion. Their pricing was fair, and they delivered as scheduled!

The pizza is a solid 4 stars, I would say, if you're considering a pizza... go for it, decide for yourself. Now, our most recent experience inside the restaurant, was simply not a positive one. We came in around 1pm, wanting to do the pizza buffet. Unfortunately, looking at what was available, it just wasn't appealing. The pizza was very cold, it needed a refresh. We expressed this to the waitress. If she had said "we'll make you a fresh pizza of whichever type you want" we'd have been game. That's not the response we got, so we moved on to hot subs. I ordered the meatball sub, my wife ordered chicken parm. The meatball was, just ok. The meatballs themselves were sliced and warm, sauce was the same I was used to from the pizza, cheese could have used more time to melt, but overall... I was OK. Her sandwich, was not good at all. She did write her own review about it, and I happen to agree. It's generally expected that ordering a chicken parm sandwich at an italian pizzeria is going to be a breaded cutlet. What was given was the shaved chicken that you would normally see if someone orders chicken on a pizza (not my thing, but to each their own). The result was very very dry chicken. The sandwich sat on her plate with two bites taken out of it for the meal duration. No prompt was given for whether we enjoyed our meal. In all, I learned my lesson that day, that this place is good for a fresh pizza. I'll only go that route in the future. The sandwiches were simply not our preference. The chicken parm needs to be rethought, or better explained as shaved chicken.

It was just as good, if not better, the second time. Though Nonna Rosa's offers calzones, salads, and a few apps, pizza is the star attraction here. It's a classic style: thicker than a floppy/greasy quintessential New York slice but thinner than a true thick crust. It's also a labor of love for the owner, who is, in the best way possible, a pizza history nerd. Nonna Rosa's pizzamakers are both amicable and assured. My wife and I ended up getting a Garlic White Pie (garlic parmesan cream, ricotta, mozzarella, and a bit of hot honey) to go. It took about fifteen minutes for them to make, looked amazing, and the smell taunted us the whole way home. The taste, however, was not to be outdone. Neither too spicy nor too sweet, the flavors were balanced nicely, and the creamy, cheesy texture made for a very satisfying bite. With 16-inch pizzas running in the mid-20s, Nonna Rosa's slings a pricey pie. There are definitely respectable pizzas in the area that can be had for less. Few, however, will leave you instantly craving more the way Nonna Rosa's will.
