I noticed New York Pizza was missing pictures of the menu within the new restaurant location after they moved to a new building up the street. So I visited to try the food and help with some added pictures. I only ever went to the old location down the street once before and don't recall what I ordered. I think it was a sandwich. They moved to this newer/nicer building and now had an inside eating area. There were other families inside so I didn't want to bother with taking pics of them trying to eat. But it's nice inside and with plenty seating and some nice wall art showing food and images related to the New York theme. The outdoor eating area is nice too, which is cool because there's not many places nearby besides in-n-out that I can think of that have decent outdoor seating. I got a "Giant Pizza Slice" which is a good deal at $4.99 plus $1 per topping. I got pepperoni and sausage. I also got a medium drink. I was worried the slice might not be so giant and I'd still be hungry, but it was pretty big and I thought it was cool how they presented it splayed across two paper plates to showcase how large it is. The cheese was a nice smooth melty texture and the pepperoni/sausage were of standard quality. It's wasn't super greasy or anything. Overall, the food, nor the service, was super special. However, the lower price point boosts it to 4-stars for me. I'll definitely be back every so often with my wife and dog to utilize the outdoor seating and grab a quick slice! read more

Very bad experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was too disappointing not to share. We ordered dinner for a family of 4 adults and 1 child, including a lasagna dinner, what was supposed to be a chicken Alfredo, 20 wings, and a 16-inch pepperoni pizza. We also left a tip. The problems started immediately. The lasagna portion was surprisingly small and came in a small round foil container. The chef salad was served in the same size container. I ordered a chicken Alfredo, but no one told me they didn't offer it. Instead, I was charged for a fettuccine pesto Alfredo and an additional $2 for chicken. When we got the food, there was barely any chicken in the pasta. The chicken wings were also very disappointing. They tasted like frozen wings that had simply been reheated, they were also small in size and most of our family didn't enjoy them. While we were waiting for our pizza, we snacked on a few wings because we had already been there for an hour and a half. My husband finally went to ask about the status of the pizza, only to be told that it had never been ordered because the employee forgot to charge us for it. We had been asked what kind of pizza we wanted when we placed our order, so we assumed everything had been entered correctly. At that point, the employee asked if we wanted to order the pizza. After waiting 90 minutes, we were still hungry and completely frustrated, so we declined and left. What disappointed me the most wasn't just the mistakes--it was the complete lack of customer service afterward. There was no apology, no attempt to make things right, no offer of a discount, refund, or even a simple acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Mistakes happen, but how a business responds to them says everything. Unfortunately, after this experience, I can't recommend this restaurant nor will I be back again. What I can recommend is brothers pizza on Pierce/ Riverwalk for pizza, wings and salad or if you are looking for lasagna Momma Mia is the spot. read more

I heard this place was top notch. Nope. I ordered a supreme pizza and bow tie pesto pasta with an up charge of mushrooms. Pizza was ordered 20 mins before pickup time. When we came home It was super bland and no flavor. We had to top our pasta with extra cheese and peppers. The mushrooms were overcooked and charred. Been coming here for years and used to give it excellent reviews. Are they under new ownership? Since they moved to Indiana and Van Buren it has gone totally downhill. Thought we would give it another try. First of all the menu doesn't have actual pictures of their food up on it: It has AI-generated pictures which was an extreme turnoff. I want to see the food you're gonna be serving me. We ended up getting one pie and wings and dinner was $70. Wings weren't anything special. Honestly, the pizza was not worth the money, in my opinion. And it was just a weird vibe in there. He took the time to repeat the order back a couple times. I ordered one 10 inch pizza w pepperoni, jalapeños and light cheese, 10 classic buffalo wings well done and one medium drink. It came out to $45...wow!! When my order was ready I was not provided plates. I didn't bother asking for them either. The taste? Mediocre. The pizza itself was more of an improved AM/PM pizza. I first gave these guys a try when my boss and I were looking for a quick bite in between meetings. We work for the county/edu department. He had the lasagna and I had their Italian sub. We both were very happy with our orders. You could tell the food is make from scratch and not rushed, that is some legit sauce. I returned with my family and we tried the pesto Alfredo, spaghetti and one of their pizzas. Everything is great, my only reason for the 4/5 rating is the pepper in the pastas were a little heavier then my daughter and I are use to but that is more an us thing. We will be back! This place was terrible. The food was fine (nothing special) but the service was awful. The personal n that took my order was not friendly in the least. I ordered a large slice of pizza. Again, it was fine. My friend and I sat down outside and decided to hang out for a while. A little while goes by and my friend goes in and orders a slice of pizza. Not too long after that what I assume is the owner (old guy) telling us we had to order or leave. I was a little shocked considering we both had ordered food. He gave us an attitude and all the employees were looking too. I just said "yeah, we'll leave." When we got up, I showed him the pizza box from our order and he just says "it's okay." No, it certainly is not okay. We were being harassed because we were spending time at the restaurant we ordered food from. Mind you, they maybe had two customers other than is the entire time we were there. Very unfriendly people here and their food does not justify their very poor service. They really need to think about how they treat their customers. If you don't feel like having to order something every few minutes, avoid this place. They don't deserve customers with their service.
