Sasha, long-haired German Shepherd at NewBridge Road Park Dog Run

The town of Hempstead Newbridge Road, Park dog run is a great place to bring your dog to interact with other dogs and have them learn to socialize. There is water available, doggy poop bags available and usually a pool to cool off their doggy paws. The artificial turf can get very warm during hot summer days.

Nice dog run , most people are nice . Looks new And cleaner then other dog parks I've seen

While my pups are tiny, we often find ourselves in the big dog side if there's more action.

The current was rushing with the winds direction and even the gulls could not compensate to pick out the hunks of Italian bread we frisbee-ed in, Lord how they tried. Two distinguishing tall gated areas - being under 30 pounds and to the left, the over 30 pounded which is a wide range but the park didn't set up for excessive headlong running, so high impact mid park collisions seemed to not be likely. The cutest senior Beagle approached me as I let Phil go and greet which he wanted no part of and it wasn't registering as to why. My further entry in was all on hold, the Beagles eyes never left mine as I lovingly stroked him. But Phil was having issues with two puffed out electrified cotton balls with paws that yipped and yapped in his mug without letting up. His owner was engaged in chit chat, not realizie that his dogs are about to get turned and twisted inside out any moment. In point of fact, just about no dog owners were looking at anything but themselves, so it was about to pop, I could feel it, Phil liked nothing about this park, so we went for the exit. The release knob allows for easy access in, horrible access out and my 6'2 long armed frame struggled to get the release knob pulled because it's on the entrance side. Of course the guy with the puff balls from hell comes right up to the gate in an attempt to leave at the same moment! Clearly a covid dog owner - no sense of potential problems no concept of other peoples dogs and there are just so many of you out there now. And after I managed to get the hell away from there, I spun around to see the sweetest thing, the senior beagle followed me out of the two gates and into the parking lot. His owner was very sweet and collected that love dog. Gosh, that little fellow really made my day and I'll reflect upon him often, but the park -- and the owners -- I'll prefer to forget.

The park is fine. Not a fan of the mud, but plenty of room for the dogs to run…read more This park is frequented by owners who do not train their dogs and do not attempt to control their dogs when they are attacking smaller dogs. We take our 24 lb dog to the smaller section, which is the limit. There are a number of owners who ate their bigger and aggressive dogs to the park. Our dog has been attacked (not play) and yelped on multiple occasions and the owners either didn't look up from their phones or laughed. Rough dog play is ok. Attacking a smaller dog and making her cry out really just means you shouldn't own a dog. Our dog plays well with other dogs, but the park attracts irresponsible owners. If you are an irresponsible dog owner please go to this park. That way I know how to avoid you in the future.

I love that he can be completely off the leash and has plenty of space to run around. Plenty of trees to mark and explore. The fences and gates are very secure. They have one side for the smaller dogs (25 lb and under) and another side for the bigger dogs. There are garbage cans but no poop bags available so remember to bring your own. There are also public metal water bowls and they turn on the water spout I'm assuming, once the weather gets warmer. It definitely wasn't turned on earlier this year. Benches can be located on the sides of the fenced in area for the humans and there's a covered area with seating toward the middle of each small and big dog side if you don't want to sit under the sun. A decent sized parking lot is right next to the dog park and there were always spots available the times that I have gone. It is very clean but of course that's also up to the people that frequent the park to pick up after their dogs and themselves. One time I was there, some guy brought his 3 dogs, sat on the bench and paid them no mind for 5-10 minutes. One of them pooped, he didn't pick it up and just left with all 3 dogs. Minus that one guy, all the other dog pawrents that go there were friendly and responsible from the times I've been there. I have heard of some of the bigger dogs fighting so just always keep an eye on your dog, whether you're on the big or small dog side. I highly recommend this dog park!

With three softball fields, it's basically built for tournaments and pick-up games. Parking was a breeze--lots right by each field, and since it was after Labor Day, no parking fee (pro tip: fees kick back in on Memorial Day). We set up a BBQ and picnic next to the first field. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches, plus some coal grills. But fair warning: the grills are pretty rough, so if you're serious about grilling, definitely bring your own. The softball area itself is perfect for family gatherings, company outings, or just a fun weekend with friends. Good energy, lots of space, and an easy setup for hanging out while cheering on a game. Can't speak for the rest of the park, but this section is definitely a win.
