They're quite knowledgeable and helpful. It's often easier to go in there and easier to find what I'm looking for than wander around the larger chain stores, you know the ones. They don't always have what I want, but I usually start my search at True Value so I can get back to the task at hand as soon as possible. read more

This store has a little bit of everything, and a lot of knowledge. I have gone to this store probably a dozen times for home repair this year. The folks working there always ask if they can help. Sometimes I know just what I need and am in an out in a few minutes. And sometimes I stop and ask for help, and their staff is friendly and talks me through what I need to succeed. I recently had a faucet leak and they recognized that my old fixtures wouldn't work anymore. The shape of the cartridge had evolved in 30 years. They found me the correct size and found me some nice handles to finish the project. They are definitely my go to store for home repair. read more

The workers were very helpful when I called to ask if they had a product in stock and equally helpful when I went in to purchase it. This was also the only place I could find that carried an unusual type of battery. I could have purchased it online, but I try to spend as much money as possible locally. I LOVE these guys! Every time I've gone into the store they ask if I need help. And trust me I do because I am a new home renter. The owner just sat on the phone with me for 15 minutes answering every question I asked him (no matter how inexperienced the questions were) He never once made me feel dumb, he educated me on the step by step process I would need to take for my home improvement. He told people that he was on the phone, it sounded busy but he didn't rush me and was so patient! Thank you guys so much!! Showed up 5 minutes after closing with a broken tool box key, the manager stayed late and helped me cut a new key and try it a few times on the box until it worked. Very friendly and efficient, suggested the correct size of a replacement lock and got it off the shelf. This store is always incredibly helpful, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Before I even walked in I was greeted by a girl outside, and despite the cold weather, she had an amazing attitude and set the precedence for my visit. As soon as I walked through the front doors, there was an employee there, who asked what I was looking for, and led me to the exact spot where I could find what I needed. After helping me find the item, he asked what it was for so that he could give me the best option. After a brief explanation, I believed him 100%. because one of the reasons why I was there in the first place was to fix a botched job. And exactly what he said would happen, is what happened and needed to be fixed. Finally, the gentleman at the register was so sweet and very approachable. Moral of the story, I paid way less than I thought I was going to, and had impeccable service. It's safe to say that I will be returning to this location anytime I need anything. I drive 45-50 minutes just to go to this hardware store. There is no place in Palmdale that repairs screen doors like this. Additionally, they stock many unique and practical things that I find in no other hardware store in my immediate area. There are special craft paints, tools, lawn and garden equipment... (too many things for me to continue.) I have interacted with a manager and three different employees. Every single one of them went out of his or her way to take an interest in my needs, address my concerns, and lead me in the right direction. I'm so happy to have found these folks! read more

Finally got a chance to stop by today to pick up a few small items. I was very impressed with the store. It is small but they have a little bit of 90% of the stuff you find at Home Depot. The prices on most items seem about 20% higher then Home Depot but it is close and when you just new a few items quickly it is great. They also had about 6 people in the store helping customers find items they needed. They were very pleasant and very helpful. So much better than searching around Home Depot for 5 minutes to find someone to help you. I will defiantly be back for all my small item needs. When doing a large project and spending hundreds or thousands of dollars of supplies it will be worth the extra time to drive to Home Depot for the money savings. read more

Finally!! A hardware store close by. My husband and I are so impressed with the great staff and variety of patio, garden and home supplies. You can even get your keys duplicated. Bill and Marci helped us today and were extremely knowledgeable and nice to do business with. If you remember Builders Emporium from the 80's and how all the staff were so helpful, Tru Value is the same. Nice to have customer service back and a local establishment close by!! read more

I'm so glad to have a hardware store on this end of town! It is so cute and close and convenient! Planning to walk down here when I need something! It really the family owned feeling. It's a little Mom and Pop hardware store, well technically its owned by a father and daughter that sold their house to open up True Value. Its a great little store with good prices. They have a nice selection of home and garden, building supplies and paint. The staff here is friendly and helpful and do what they can to assist you. Picked up some stain for a porch swing when I went in today. They have a great sale on air filters so I'm sure I'll be back soon! When I came in I saw a beautiful dog in here with her owner. So if your furry friend is well-behaved and on leash bring them on in to this wonderful little family-owned hardware store! read more

About a month ago, i had a leak in my sprinkler system. A plug had cracked and needed replacing. By the time I had driven over to Newhall True Value, it was about 7:30 p.m. I walked up to the door only to realize they closed at 7:00. While I was reading the sign, I hear "Can I help you "? It was Davy, the Store Manager who looks like a smaller Justin Turner of the L.A. Dodgers. I told him what I needed and he just opened the store and sold me a plug for $1.41. It was the first day that they were open till 7:00. He saved me at least an hour that night. I've been there a few times since they reopened under new management. I used to go to True Value before many of them closed down I still do go to the one in Pasadena. I am glad this one open in Newhall. There always an expert available to help you In this case is Davy, he is patience in answering questions and showing how things should be done. They don't have many too choose like the big box store I guess they are as their name just selling true value stuff. read more

I recently moved to Newhall, and this is the closest hardware store. I am used to going to the other big hardware stores, and so I've simply gone here out of convenience in my most recent trips there. I will say this, True Value and its employees provide the BEST customer service ever! At other hardware stores, I am used to flagging down employees who are almost running away from me. Every time I have stepped foot into this store, I am greeted by the cashier at the front who asks me if I need help with anything. I usually oblige, but anytime I find myself wandering around the store, there are always helpful employees who come up to me asking if they can help in anyway. I will proudly continue to be a customer here even if other stores move in. read more

I made my last trip to true value today. The store is good for a home owner that needs 1 or 2 things, but is useless for a contractor. I gave them 4 shots and I'm 0 for 4. I was very excited when true value moved into Newhall But without a large selection they're just a waste of time. Their staff is friendly enough but are not very knowledgeable. read more

Needed some keys copied, and I tried Home Depot first, but the line to get in was so long. Came here instead, and they were amazing. Will come here first for any hardware needs from now on. They also had a nice selection of succulents to brighten your home during quarantine. read more

Omg this place is a gem! I was looking foe high heat paint and there are the only ones that had it! I told them I was coming to get it and they placed it into the shaker for me so it was ready to go when I got there. The staff is supper help! We will be back for sure! read more
