Not very good. Ordered two lobster rolls, fried pickles and oysters on the half shell. Pickles and oysters were fine. Lobster rolls, however, were less than satisfying -- petite at $33 and original $38. Lobster came cold, finely chopped and mixed with mayonnaise, on toasted hotdog and hamburger buns respectively. Lobster had practically no flavor --- all we could taste was the slightly burned bun. Expressed our observations to Emma the server who correctly relayed to kitchen. Unfortunately, the kitchen and anyone in authority did not choose to speak with us. We had good memories of Newick's -- not so much now. read more

Perfectly cooked clams and fish and chips and onion rings, as always. Our server was very attentive. Very homey atmosphere. Great selection of beer, including from local craft breweries. I would only suggest that they ditch the draft kegs (because of flat beer) for bottled beer. read more

Great seafood, and the service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was New England waterfront at its best. The portions are plentiful and the New England clam chowder was creamy and delicious. Newicks used to be good now they want $30 Additional for scallops! 2 cokes 2 2 way plates $63.00, French fries were hard as a rock, fish was tasteless, shrimp was like rubber, i swear if we got a flat we could've drove home on one! Awesome precautions roll, delightful location, superb service, waterside location and outstanding views. What else can you ask for on a sunny day? And on top of that, Dog friendly outside. We got here at 1 PM on a beautiful summer day and our wait time was less than a minute. They serve local brews to our delight. I had a delicious Stoneface IPA. Then the food. Yum. Superb lobster roll. And my husband had delicious haddock tacos. The scenery was amazing. During the pandemic. Their precautions are visible. All staff wear masks. The seating was good, and so was the waitress. The food was terrible. We had steamers that tasted like they never cleaned them. I felt like I was chewing sand. The seafood medley was undercooked, and they never listed the orange looking sauce that was watery &tasteless. I spoke with the manager on that evening, and he could care less. I hadn't been to Newick's in at least 10 years. We we're visiting relatives and I couldn't wait to have seafood. Well, I'll probably wait another 10 years before I go back. We ordered the petite and original lobster roll. SO disappointed in the size of the serving. They were both the same amount although one cost more than the other. My hamburger bun probably had been crystallized in the freezer as it tasted bland. The fried clams probably were fried in grease that should have been cleaned out and replaced with new grease. The waitress and the clam chowder are the ONLY two good things about this place. Not one, but TWO dead lobsters in the tanks as you enter. Seriously? That should have been our sign to turn around and leave. And the people in the kitchen, smoking cigarettes. I had an original lobster roll today. It was extremely disappointing. While the meat was fresh, it was served on a very heavy, dry and tasterless kaiser roll. Lobster rolls are to be served on buttered and grilled hot dog buns not this crap. Lobster in a cardboard wrapper. read more

You shouldn't get a burger at a 'Lobster house.' We had the pound and a quarter lobster, which was great. Some cole slaw and baked potato, were just fine. And the chowder was as one would expect, pretty thick and delightfully butter/creamy. I've been to Newick's three times over the last ten years or so and have never been disappointed. The view out over the water is great for watching the sunset and the service was great. Don't get the burger, sheesh. It ain't a fancy joint. It's a giant house of lobster. read more

The lobster stew was DELICIOUS. Lovely as a lunch with a side salad. The view is panoramic water and boats. Just off the highway if you are en route to or from Lake Winnepesaukee to Boston. Service was warm and welcoming. read more

I've been coming here with my family since I was a kid. It is one of my favorite seafood restaurants and I've always loved coming here. Recently went on a Taco Tuesday and they had $3 margaritas and great deals on fish tacos. We got a bowl of clam chowder, some lobster rolls, popcorn shrimp, and drinks. All of them were fantastic. Lunchtime during the weekdays is typically pretty slow so our food came super quick. I highly recommend Newick's for a great seafood experience! read more

In the area, don't waste your time or money. Worst dining experience we have had in a long time! We went there to celebrate selling our business today. We ordered the seafood platter for two. It was barely enough for one. Suppose to have whole belly clams, scallops, shrimp and haddock. Came out cold and had clam strips, 5 scallops, 4 had dock nuggets and hand full of small shrimp and fries. All looked and tasted like they were what was left in the warming trays nothing was cooked fresh. We ran a restaurant for 10yrs so I know what I'm talking about. Also the place is worn and dirty. This use to be the place to go, now its the place to avoid. Not one person asked how our meal was or if we needed anything. read more

This place has skidded downhill. I tried their fish and chips a few months ago and found the fish to be nearly a matter of fish flavored breading. In other words small pieces of fish were heavily breaded and fried and presented to the diner. I have recently tried the fish soup. I've been around for 76 years so I know a little bit about soup as everybody else does, I'm sure. This soup consisted of milk with some fish pieces in it. The product was presented in a styrofoam bowl along with a plastic spoon and crackers. It was essentially flavorless. And the biggest problem was that the some of the fish pieces were such that one couldn't gracefully pick them up with a spoon and put them in his or her mouth. They were just too big. It would have looked like eating a hot dog but without using your hands. How foolish this was. I didn't dare try to cut them into smaller pieces in the styrofoam bowl because the odds of having the stuff in my lap were far too high if I did that. My companion had fish tacos. Each piece of fish was a little larger but only a little larger than a regular thumb drive. Each was well breaded of course I grew up in a coastal community. I have had hundreds if not thousands of seafood meals in restaurants between the Florida Keys and Atlantic Canada. . I have never seen such cheap treatment as I got at this place. I won't be back. That's a shame. My experience with it extends back decades. read more

Classic New England Seafood shop right on the water. Various specials. Onion rings are really good. Easy to fill up on them. Clam steamers were good. The Seafood casserole was very delicious and after the onion rings and clams could have easily fed two. I took half of it home. Place is big and definitely can handle large crowds. Lots of fried items and will scratch that itch for fresh fried seafood. read more

Let's start with the flies, at one point there were 5 on the table, I mentioned it to the waitress and she said they had tried everything but couldn't get rid of them. I expect this when I eat outside but inside the restaurant I see as unacceptable. Next was the fact I ordered the whole belly clams ($50) , yet hidden on the bottom of my plate at least 1/3 of my portion were clam strips. Food was hot, waitress was good and tipped well. REQUIEM FOR NEWICK'S Sadly, I must report the demise of Newick's Lobster House. We've been going here since the 70s - long before the fire, but in all that time had never been disappointed, until now. We live a couple of hours away, so stopping there has always been a special treat. I don't know if this is fallout from the pandemic or just evolution, but this was not the Newick's we've loved for so long. The menu is a spare shadow of it's former self. Several of our favorites are now missing. The portions are smaller, the fries are a soggy imitation of their former glory, even the ketchup is a foul, non-heinz substitute. Asked for cocktail sauce in the to-go and got tartar sauce that just got tossed. The only bright spot was the chips, home made, crispy and delicious. Not worth a special stop though. Thanks for all the great meals and memories, we'll miss you. read more
