Went here for their soft opening this week and they are truly on their game. I went to school where the original was located and have been wanting a location here. Like any restaurant, they have kinks to work out but they are willing to try and get them out during this week before which I have a lot of respect for. For the food, I had a cup of potato soup loaded. It was just as I remembered it was. Truly my favorite cup of soup anywhere. I also had the Debra pizza which I had never had before (yes even me). The chicken, bacon, pesto combo is incredible yet again. The service was incredible. From the greeters at the door to the bus boys. They truly are trying to get the service correct from the start. Just came in to Newks Eatery and they were very informative on the menu, couldn't resist my favorite soup pulled pork! And my roast beef combo. Plus I was able to add caramelized onion to it! I love this place. And the staff was smiling my whole visit, a manager came to visit me to see how everything was, we'll I told Dana that I would be back again to eat on my way out of town on Saturday! I was hoping I would like this place. It is a very typical lunch-type place, a-la Jason's Deli, Corner Bakery, or Cafe Express. Except not as good. My boyfriend, daughter and I are usually not picky eaters, but none of us finished our meals here. I had a grilled chicken sandwich that was mediocre at best - the chicken was more like thin sliced pieces of meat that were dry around the edges (seemed like they might have been sitting out for a while), with tomato basil soup that my boyfriend described as tasting like it came from a can. My boyfriend had the shrimp po-boy sandwich, and he only finished half because he said it was not very good. My daughter had the pimento mac and cheese which she didn't finish, but to Newk's credit, I don't think my daughter knew what pimento cheese actually tasted like before she ordered her meal. All in all, I was completely underwhelmed with this restaurant and will not be going back. read more

If you want a taste of mediocrity, come here. The ambiance is perfect for a lunch place. Our food was terrible. I got the corn chowder and pulled pork soup and I could not even finish it. The pork was very dry and unappetizing. I also had a Caesar salad and the dressing was very creamy without much flavor, which makes me think their dressing has more mayonnaise than seasoning. My husband got the pesto chicken sandwich and the chicken meat was extremely dry and hard on the edges. read more

I have friends that have been anticipating this arrival of this Eatery. We stopped for lunch and it was fantastic. The portions are large enough for two, so be prepared to split some of the yummy items. We had the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and the Shrimp Remoulade Salad - both were wonderful. I love the fact that you can order at the counter and they bring the food to the table for you - really more efficient for getting folks fed quickly. The quality of the foods was great and the service was perfect. Very Impressed and will be back soon! Great family spot. read more

I arrived and found Peking easily. The cashier who was the manager was nice and knew what he was talking about and knew what was on the menu. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza and a club sandwich. The prices were very reasonable and the restaurant itself was clean. The food arrived in 10 minuets and it was hot and fresh. The sweet tea although is not so sweet and it took them 10 minuets to refill the water for my friend. We never asked about it but they checked back on the drink area twice and they didn't notice it. Either way great. Not the best place I've ever been but good quality for a good price and I will definitely be coming back! On a side note the entrance is not hugely displayed so be careful so you don't have to make that uturn at bunker hill. read more

Guys! Persona pizza states tjat they jave the best pizza, WELL, obviously they havde not had Newks, persona pizza is flavorless and in order to get a fully cooked pizza in their exclusive 800 degrees pizza it ends up burn to a crispy wafer. This is the best pizza place. I drive 30 miles just to eat hear, because its the closest to my house and i am never disappointed! read more

I've been to several Newks locations before and have become a regular but there hasn't been one I've liked as much as this one. It's very new but all of the staff are extremely knowledgeable and the fact it's not a traditional restraint doesn't stop them from providing assistance and checking in on their guests. I've never had such good, genuine service at a Newks or many other places. I'll definitely be visiting this location again!!! read more

The food here is not very good I got a chicken sandwich and with was dry and over cooked. The salads have way to much dress on them. My dad got another sandwich which had 3 times the amount of olive oil on it, the bread was soaked in it. The menu is not impressive either. Would never go back. read more

I had a late lunch at the Bunker Hill location. Everything was clean and well organized. I was greeted right away, but given time to study the menu since this was the first time I'd visited the restaurant. I chose the tomato soup with half a turkey and avocado sandwich on 11 grain bread. When the food arrived the bread looked as though it might contain tree nuts - something I am fiercely allergic to. I asked a young woman named Christina to check and she confirmed there were tree nuts in the bread. She returned the sandwich to the kitchen and re-ordered it with plain bread. When she brought the new sandwich to my table she even told she she had discarded the original sandwich so I wouldn't have to worry about whether the ingredients just got moved to another piece of bread. It was so thoughtful. Both the soup and sandwich were delicious. I will definitely be back. read more

Several of us ate at Newk's on Friday, January 15. The two of us that had the same meal, tortilla soup + Caesar salad, became ill within a few hours and stayed I'll for several hours. On Monday, I called to tell them. The Manager was neither interested nor apologetic. read more

Just ate at this Newk's location. I have never been to this particular Newk's before as I was in Houston visiting. The restaurant appears to be a newer one. I ordered my usual Newks "Q" and asked for no bacon with the BBQ sauce on the side. We went to find a booth( had our newborn baby with us in his carrier so needed to be able to set him on the seat) to sit in and wait for our food. The only booth that was available in the restaurant happened to be dirty and we couldn't find anyone to clean it. I grabbed paper towels from the bathroom and wiped up the leftover food remnants myself. Upon receiving my food, they completed my request accurately. The sandwich was fine but the BBQ sauce had a funny taste to it. After eating a few bites of my sandwich I noticed there was a hair on it, which was extremely off putting. My husband noticed that the manager was walking around the restaurant checking on all the tables to see how their food was and he literally went to every table except ours. I could not see this as my back was to him. I don't know if he didn't want to come over because we had a sleeping baby but we were sitting there talking. My husband took our baby out to the car because he was starting to fuss and I figured that the manager would now come over. Well I was wrong. At that point I was done with my experience there. I should have gone to the manager myself but with an upset baby and having several hours to drive home I left. Needless to say I am disappointed in my experience especially since I've been eating at Newk's for years and this is the first bad experience I've had. read more

The food was terrible at the new I-10 location. We have been going to the 290 Newks location for over 5 years. I order the same thing every single time. Club sandwich, extra toasted with a small extra side of the honey mustard. Well the honey mustard was different than the other locations. It is a different color and it is really spicy hot. The manger threw a card on our table for next time. He didn't offer my money back. He didn't offer to have the kitchen re make it without the honey mustard, I had to ask him to do that and it is terrible. There is no way this is the same sauce. I'll never come back to this location. Bad manager, very rude. read more
