I ordered the Tejano Cesar Zepplin and added double chicken, pickled onions and halved tomatoes with a side of tomato, basil soup and it was all so good. I've never had a zeppelin until before now and it's the best way to describe it is that it's the cross between a sandwich and a salad. What it is exactly is a loaf of bread with the inside taken out so that it's like more of a shell and then it is a salad bowl like mixture stuffed in there. I feel like it's the perfect lunch because It's super filling, but also very light, and healthy! What more can you ask for. Easy parking. Easy order. Quick service! I really do find them delicious, this concept of a salad inside a crispy bread. They warm the bread, remove the inside and leaves the crispy outside to fill in with salad. Their salad recipes are good, especially the southwest one with avocados and black beans. My friend and I really enjoyed their salad stuffed bread aka their zeppelin. Salads are boring to eat but I can eat salad all day if it's wrapped in a carb. They hallow out the bread so you only have the crunchy exterior. The bread isn't toasted which I'm okay with. Came across bread Zeppelin on social media and wanted to try it for myself. Inside the store there is a bunch of seating options with a drink station, and the salad bar. If you don't want to wait in line there is two order kiosk that you can place your orders at and there is also a to go station next to it to pick up your orders. I decided to try a build your own Zepplin this time around and got cucumbers, pickled onions, corn, Arcadian mix lettuce, and chicken as my protein. I didn't realize that the protein was an extra charge so I feel like the better option is to go with a preset salad because with the build your own, it only comes with four toppings unless you do not want a protein of course. When choosing your salad dressing you are allowed to sample the different flavors. I sampled the Tejano Caesar dressing and they even gave me some of the bread scraps to dip it with which I thought was very unique and cool. I was very curious as to what they use the bread scraps for and they told me that they actually use it for their house made croutons and bread pudding, which is very resourceful. My friend went with the Metropolitan club salad and it was delicious. The salad itself was light, paired with the satisfying crust of the baguette. The bread was toasted perfectly and hollowed out very nicely. Overall I enjoyed my experience and getting to finally try the zeppelin. Online ordering: pretty straightforward, you get a $5 coupon for the first time online app order (you need to create an account though). Just note that they do not accept Apple pay on the app which was a bummer, so make sure you have your card details with you. Pick up was super easy. I've tried the Southwest, Lone Star, and Washington State all in Zeppelins. I'd go for the Southwest and Lone Star again, personally found the Washington State too fruity. Walking inside is indeed a little confusing, as you can order from the computers at the front if you know what you would like, but if it is your first time (like me!) you can also order from the bar as you would a typical salad bar. The staff was incredibly kind and let me try different sauces to see which salad I would end up picking. I have learned to recreate it in my custom Zepplin even though I no longer eat meat, I get extra boiled egg. The champagne vinaigrette is so close to the Mandola's that I'm officially addicted to this salad in a Zepplin with boiled eggs, Bleu Cheese and red onion. Salad is delicious and fresh with some fun and different ingredients. However, it is crazy expensive. (20$ salad not including the baguette) Understandable given the quality of the food. Now why the two stars? Let me explain. I did a build your own salad with all the veggies and grilled chicken. It's not like salata where it's unlimited veggie options. After a while they start charging for extra toppings (like certain veggies that probs would be included at salata). They mix your salad in a metal bowl and then attempt to fill it in a plastic bowl once it's mixed. The plastic bowl is much smaller than the metal bowl. Obviously it's not all going to fit. Get this...they THROW AWAY THE REST. If it doesn't fit in the plastic bowl (which it doesn't take Einstein to realize it won't) it's thrown away!! And then they still charge you for the extra ingredients that were thrown away!! My heart sunk when they were like oh ya this all didn't fit (yall it's a lot)...we just throw it away. So you charged me for extra things and then didn't even give me all of it?! Also I was dining in. Why not let me eat out of the metal bowl?! I really loved this place the first time I came. Wow... I love a great sandwich, and this place does great sandwiches. I've officially made it my mission to try every single one. They even have three or four different lemonades--dangerously addictive. The first time, I went "healthy" with a salad (no regrets, it was amazing). My friend and I came here for the 1st time on a Saturday around 1 pm. It's in a busy complex but there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is very spacious and naturally lit with all the windows. Plenty of table options. We ordered our food at the self-service kiosks which were easy to use. My friend got the Washington State & I got the Southwest with chicken & avocado ranch dressing. We both really thought the flavor was refreshing like a salad and paired so well with the toasted baguette without feeling so carb heavy. We each ate the entire zeppelin.
