If you've never tried this place, this is your sign to ASAP! It's located in a strip center in Houston. There's plenty of parking available there. You walk in and there's plenty of seating open. My sister and I came here for lunch on a Thursday and there were a few people here, but it wasn't overly full. I decided on the chicken Caesar zeppelin ($9.99) and my sister got the Atlantis zeppelin ($11.49). The people working there are so friendly and so kind. We were having a lovely conversation with the one of the ladies that worked there. The bread was so warm and tasted super fresh. It wasn't super hard like some other places. The Caesar salad was to die for! Everything tasted so fresh and like it was made in house. They put in homemade croutons, which added a delicious crunch to the zeppelin. I devoured that sandwich so fast. They had delicious desserts available, which I didn't get, but plan to next time for sure! Came across bread Zeppelin on social media and wanted to try it for myself. Inside the store there is a bunch of seating options with a drink station, and the salad bar. If you don't want to wait in line there is two order kiosk that you can place your orders at and there is also a to go station next to it to pick up your orders. I decided to try a build your own Zepplin this time around and got cucumbers, pickled onions, corn, Arcadian mix lettuce, and chicken as my protein. I didn't realize that the protein was an extra charge so I feel like the better option is to go with a preset salad because with the build your own, it only comes with four toppings unless you do not want a protein of course. When choosing your salad dressing you are allowed to sample the different flavors. I sampled the Tejano Caesar dressing and they even gave me some of the bread scraps to dip it with which I thought was very unique and cool. I was very curious as to what they use the bread scraps for and they told me that they actually use it for their house made croutons and bread pudding, which is very resourceful. My friend went with the Metropolitan club salad and it was delicious. The salad itself was light, paired with the satisfying crust of the baguette. The bread was toasted perfectly and hollowed out very nicely. Overall I enjoyed my experience and getting to finally try the zeppelin. After that, you tell them what dressing you'd like. During my first dine in experience, one staff member even gave me the option of how much dressing I wanted but I wasn't asked this option the next time which would've been nice but not a big deal. After the sauces, they will ask if you want salt and pepper or both. Finally you can check out and pay. Online ordering: pretty straightforward, you get a $5 coupon for the first time online app order (you need to create an account though). Just note that they do not accept Apple pay on the app which was a bummer, so make sure you have your card details with you. Pick up was super easy. I've tried the Southwest, Lone Star, and Washington State all in Zeppelins. I'd go for the Southwest and Lone Star again, personally found the Washington State too fruity. I also asked for my bread's filling on the side which they wrapped up for me! And he was very welcoming as was the staff when we walked in, they all greeted us and the manager ended up giving us two bread puddings and a kids bowl for free since my coworker wasn't planning to get anything but I basically ordered the kid bowl for her so that was a really nice gesture of him and I'm definitely gonna be back. I recently discovered Bread Zepplin. I used to frequent Frankie Mandola's on Kirby back in the day. My go-to was the Mandola's Cobb Salad. I have learned to recreate it in my custom Zepplin even though I no longer eat meat, I get extra boiled egg. The champagne vinaigrette is so close to the Mandola's that I'm officially addicted to this salad in a Zepplin with boiled eggs, Bleu Cheese and red onion. I didn't know what to order the first time I went. The staff were very patient with me as I learned the gazillion optional ingredients and what to order. I am hooked and get a Zepplin every chance I get. They also reuse the inside of the bread "vessel" to make homemade croutons and bread pudding! It's a quaint sized establishment that always seems to have a steady stream of customers. Walking inside is indeed a little confusing, as you can order from the computers at the front if you know what you would like, but if it is your first time (like me!) you can also order from the bar as you would a typical salad bar. The staff was incredibly kind and let me try different sauces to see which salad I would end up picking. I ended up choosing the Tejano Ceasar salad, which was like a regular ceasar, but with a bit of a spicy kick. Salad is delicious and fresh with some fun and different ingredients. However, it is crazy expensive. (20$ salad not including the baguette) Understandable given the quality of the food. Now why the two stars? Let me explain. I did a build your own salad with all the veggies and grilled chicken. It's not like salata where it's unlimited veggie options. After a while they start charging for extra toppings (like certain veggies that probs would be included at salata). They mix your salad in a metal bowl and then attempt to fill it in a plastic bowl once it's mixed. The plastic bowl is much smaller than the metal bowl. Obviously it's not all going to fit. Get this...they THROW AWAY THE REST. If it doesn't fit in the plastic bowl (which it doesn't take Einstein to realize it won't) it's thrown away!! And then they still charge you for the extra ingredients that were thrown away!! My heart sunk when they were like oh ya this all didn't fit (yall it's a lot)...we just throw it away. So you charged me for extra things and then didn't even give me all of it?! Also I was dining in. Why not let me eat out of the metal bowl?! I really loved this place the first time I came. My friend and I came here for the 1st time on a Saturday around 1 pm. It's in a busy complex but there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is very spacious and naturally lit with all the windows. Plenty of table options. We ordered our food at the self-service kiosks which were easy to use. My friend got the Washington State & I got the Southwest with chicken & avocado ranch dressing. We both really thought the flavor was refreshing like a salad and paired so well with the toasted baguette without feeling so carb heavy. We each ate the entire zeppelin. Stopped in when wanting a not so heavy meal option. The folks were super helpful for it being our first visit there. They informed us of the choices of how to order. Made the process go easy. When we were unsure of the sauce for my husband's they gave a chunk of the warm bread to try the sauce with. So yummy. Overall it was incredible how much they fit into the zeppelin. Mine was the Nashville hot which I didn't think of as overly spicy but a good level of it. I will be going back for more of that along with the tomato soup.
