I have lived here for the past two weeks and just really wish I had read the reviews before choosing to move in here. I am posting this hoping this helps others that are looking for a place to live because the stress my husband and I have to deal with is unacceptable. We moved here 11/16. It took us all day to move our stuff. The first day I found a couple of small roaches. We went to buy Raid's spray which made the problem even worst. They started coming out of the sink, crawling on the walls, and crawling on our guest bedroom mattress. That night I was not able to to sleep afraid that one was going to crawl into my bed while I was asleep. The next morning I was getting ready to talk to the front office about our issue. My husband woke up screaming because one of the roaches was in our bed CRAWLING UP HIS ARM. At this point I was furious. I went to the front office on a Tuesday morning and expressed my frustration. Francis apologized and told us pest control would come the next day. That night I did not stay there. I knew I was not going to be able to rest. Pest control came on Wednesday. Which helped. Most of the roaches we have found are now dead. A few ones are still alive. I also found 3 worms. I was told to keep my windows, patio door closed. Which I have. The only time I ever open a door is when I have to leave my apartment. Pest control came by for the second time and tried to advise us in how to deal with this situation. Basically we don't know if this is a roach infestation. I mentioned we are trying to get rid of them. I was told that "we aren't getting rid of these roaches soon" and that at best it will take at least 4-6 weeks to be able to get rid of them completely. That's if we are not dealing with a roach infestation. If I am still seeing them I can ask them to come back next week and ask them to do a clean-out, a more aggressive method of fumigation. Let me make this clear my husband and I did NOT bring these roaches with us. I know the office might try to blame this on us. So I want to be clear. The apartment should have been fumigated before we moved in or they should have offered a different apartment if this was an issue. I refuse to believe this was not noticed when they worked on the apartment, of which they had asked us to delay moving in for a week because they needed more time to finish the apartment. They were literary crawling on every wall and the sink. So for the next few weeks I am going to have to keep requesting for them to come back. The only one that has apologized and actually being helpful throughout this process is Francis. She put us on the pest control list again for this week. We have dealt with a lot of issues with the apartment. Some have being fix and some I will have to put an order for because we are finding more problems with the apartment as we continue to live here. I wouldn't recommend this place to rent.

So the bars actually come in handy. Apartment was not cleaned when I moved in, cobwebs, stains on the wall and whatever this is on the bedroom blinds. POOP EVERYWHERE! In the hallways, on the sidewalks, all kinds of debris in the hallways. Doors leading in and out of building & courtyard slam, be prepared of the walls vibrating. Busted down, out of date vehicles all over the place. And the best and newest thing... 4:30am fire alarms going off. While outside in the heat discussing with people who unfortunately have lived here longer than a year say this is a normal thing, happens at least 6-8 times a year. And they're LOUD alarms! I'm trying to think of one positive and the only thing I can think of is it's close to a lot of things. That one positive does not outweigh all the negatives. I've lived in a lot of apartments in the Plano/Frisco area and these are by far the worst I've ever lived in.

When I mentioned the reviews I'd read, he didn't get defensive -- he offered honest context and was happy to talk through my concerns. We ended up having a real conversation: about my move, what I was looking for, even a bit about his own life. It never felt like a sales pitch. The property manager was just as generous with her time, chatting with me for a good twenty minutes about anything I wanted to ask. I know not every leasing team has that kind of time to give, and I didn't take it for granted. Alan toured me through two different units based on what I described wanting, and was upfront about pricing and every incentive available. Nothing felt hidden or oversold. The property itself backed up the "luxury" label -- the grounds, the playground, the pool area all looked immaculate, practically brand new. In the end, I chose a different community, but that decision came down to budget and needing the best possible rate for the space, not anything about Cortland. The staff and units left a genuinely strong impression, and if my financial situation shifts down the road, I'd absolutely consider making the move to Cortland in the future.

We were trying to leave, car lights are one and about 10 kids all ages continue to ride bikes in the parking lot, clearly seeing a car trying to leave. parents did very little to stop them. They play cricket and throw balls in the parking lot every day, no regards for the cars. The screaming from the volleyball court can be heard from inside your apartment. Adults and children. Office staff is kind and maintenance is pretty good and nice but the overall atmosphere is overwhelming.

I was having the hardest time trying to apply with their system that they use for an apartment here. Out of frustration, I was there at the office, right after they opened. After trying my best to explain what was happening, she jumped right in to help. She immediately went into solution mode and we worked through it together in her office. That was priceless! A true example of going above and beyond because she easily could have gotten tired of me and my situation. She is a problem solver, listens attentively, determined to complete the tasks at hand, amazing attitude and I wish there were more people like her in this world. Later that day, I had gotten an email from the company that approve you for the apartments, needing something else from me. I had to go back to her office once again to help me. There was a point we had to pull the property manager in on a brief part of the process and yes, she help a great deal as well. I hate I can't remember her name at this second because I wanted to name her specifically as well. I am excited to move there soon. I like that it is not a large community and I have driven through the property a few times, at different times of the day, and each time it was clean, quiet and well lit. Talk about excited....That is ME!

Our daughter lives in a sister property and she took pictures of the property and was very pleased with all the amenities, pool, gym, pool room, TV room, game room, etc. Th property is beautiful and the apartments have a lot of amenities too. They have now moved into the walls making the time in my living space less peaceful. I've been told there's nothing they can do to fix the issue. They want to relocate me to another apartment, but my neighbors experience the same bird-play sounds in their apartments as well, so moving is just a band aide on the issue at hand. There is an infestation. Removal is imperative as pigeons can contract and carry many diseases and parasites that upper management is ignoring. Bird removal is pricey, but it needs to be done. It's only gotten worse this year. It's now a potential health risk for some residents. Can we please work to rectify this?
