The installers did a great job-- they protected my carpet and furniture from dust, worked quietly, and cleaned up beautifully. Every window sparkles. Darren even called me after the installation to see if I had any questions or concerns, as did Kennedy from the Carlsbad office. I also had Newman's install 14 Tuscany windows in 2017. When one window leaked after heavy rain, they reinstalled the window and repaired all damage at no charge. (Milgard has an excellent warranty.) I just had windows and two doors installed in our condo. I wasn't sure what to expect since the windows and doors were over 37 yrs old. Let me say this- it was a fantastic install! You never get service like this anymore. Installer Brandon called me an hour before the install to tell me our windows and doors were loaded and they are on their way- should be here by 8:50am. That's exactly when they showed up. Brandon took the time to introduce his team- Luis, Nick, Jose and Jacob and the all got down to work. This was supposed to be a two day job, the completed it in one day! They worked continuously the entire time the were here. These folks worked so well together - everyone knew their job. I needed a leaky window reframed and replaced in December. The whole team communicated well throughout the whole process; Andy for sales, Beth for scheduling, and Mike and Ethon for the reframing and install. All my concerns were addressed in a very timely fashion. Most important to me was the communication. There was a delay in the production process but Beth and the team were on top of it. They communicated this early to me and offered work arounds. I would definitely recommend Newman! Mike and Ethon were very professional and cared for my flooring and furniture. I cannot overstate how frustrating and disappointing my experience has been with Newman Windows & Doors. I paid for what was supposed to be a one-day installation. Instead, over five weeks, five separate home visits, and countless phone calls later, the job is still not complete. This situation is a direct result of poor internal communication, logistical disorganization, and a complete lack of proactive customer service. At no point was I kept in the loop about the delivery status of my windows, doors, or screens. Each time I reached out for updates, I was met with vague answers or no real information. I had to chase the company down repeatedly just to get the basic details any responsible contractor would provide without being asked. To make matters worse, the quality of the work itself is unacceptable. One of the windows was installed visibly crooked, and two of the sliding windows are also misaligned, making them difficult to lock and requiring significant force to close properly. These aren't minor cosmetic issues -- they're basic functional failures that call into question the quality of the installation overall. Most recently, today (July 29th) a technician came to replace two window screens and brought three -- none of which fit. Not only was this yet another wasted visit, but the employee complained to me directly that their company is losing money because they can't seem to deliver the correct product. That level of unprofessionalism was honestly astounding. This isn't just about a delay -- it's about the repeated abuse of my time. I've had to rearrange my schedule five times to be available for home visits. I've made numerous phone calls trying to ensure the job is done correctly. I paid for a one-day measurement and one-day installation, not a drawn-out, five-week ordeal with subpar incomplete results. At this point, the service I paid for has not been delivered -- and even if the job is eventually completed, that does not undo the unnecessary frustration, inconvenience, and poor craftsmanship I've endured. This is no longer a fair transaction, and I believe partial financial compensation is warranted based on both the time wasted and the unresolved quality issues. Pre-installation- July 1st Newman is currently over 2 weeks behind on my order and installation. They're awful at communicating changes to my delivery and installation. They have the gall to say that this "never happens" or it's the "first time it's happened." But they screwed up my Dad's order on his house too. I also wrote a letter to the owner (2 weeks ago) and never got a response. This has been the worst experience and I do not recommend working with them. Update after installation- July 2nd Please see attached videos for their poor quality of workmanship. In the videos you'll see: 1. One window is installed crooked and is off from one side to the other by a half on an inch. 2. One large crooked slider window. 3. A second smaller crooked slider window. 4. An improperly constructed screen. We paid $13k for 2 doors and 7 windows. Of those 9 individual products, 1 door had a latch issue (resolved) and 4 windows currently have issues as shown in the videos. - RE: to owner response This is Jean's daughter. The one that has to be at home to document your company's incompetence and comfort my mom because you've been upsetting her since your first fumble 6 weeks ago. To be clear, your response does not take responsibility for the unprofessionalism that took place in our home today. AND your solution is to take more of our time that you've already been abusing throughout this transaction. The entire process was streamlined, the options for sizes, types, colors are well explained, installation was 1.5 days and simple. 5-STAR!!!! Highly recommend!!!! The best part? THE PEOPLE! REBECCA answered our call and there was no hard selling, just very practical advice as to what would work best in our house based on our preferences. She was marvelous, patient, and so knowledgeable!!!! Next up, JACOB, the project manager. Excellent communication from him based on timing for ordering and installing! I needed 10 windows replaced- the original windows were broken and seal between glass was wearing out. I got quotes from 4 different venders- Home Depo, Saddleback windows, Eisenbart and Newman windows. Most of the quotes came in at about the same price. But I found an offer on the Newman Windows website for buy 2 get 1 free Milgard windows. When I got the updated pricing it was great deal. And they let you pay by Credit Card. They originally quoted me 6 to 8 weeks for delivery, but my windows were delivered and installed in 4 weeks. This company is very professional. My sibling is a general contractor and warned me about shoddy installation, and especially the caulking. I watched them work, and even sent pictures to my sibling during the work. The crew that did the install were great, Jonathan, Mike and Jovany worked hard and got all 10 windows installed in 1 day. My senior mother had six windows installed into her home, Newman Windows & Doors did an AMAZING JOB !!! Team leader Nick, Irvin and Tyler where true professionals and a great team ! They were on time ( a few minutes early actually ), explained what was about to be installed, laid out tarp in all the rooms to be worked in and cleaned their areas before leaving. Irvin went through each installation with my senior mother and explained how to open and lock them for her safety. They even offered and moved furnishing back to into place after the work was completed! The whole team had friendly smiles great attitudes, where easy to talk to and where willing to answer any questions my mother or I had. As a former property manager I am aware of how a vendors workers may not provide the professionalism required once their on the job -- NOT Nick and his team, great guys and great representatives for NEWMAN WINDOW & DOORS. I inherited dual pane retrofit vinyl windows and sliding doors when we bought our condo home almost 5 years ago. One window has leaked under the stress of horizontal rain and wind off the ocean in bad storms. I called Newman and their salesman Roland Deguzman came out. I am now retired, but previously I sold vinyl window products for both American Vision Windows in Orange, and Lowe's in Irvine, and I can emphatically state that there is nothing worse for a window/door salesman than a one window sales lead. Commission is small for a one window sale, and the time investment often doesn't make it very productive. You would not know that, however, with the way Roland evaluated my window issue, and discussed it with me. Roland was both thorough and highly knowledgeable. A real pro! I accepted Roland's quote for a replacement vinyl retrofit window, after seriously considering a new construction, nail fin window - which entails breaking back 6" of stucco around the entire perimeter of the window. Nathaniel then followed up for a remeasure a week or so later. Again, very thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. Today a three member install team from Newman came out (on time with nice phone communication) including Adrian, Valentin, and Juan. They were here for two hours and removed my leaky window, and closely analyzed the old and original aluminum frame for issues. They then installed a new XO retro fit window. The window is up about 10/12' so it took a little while. During the install, they properly used a foam insulation product in the interior gap around the window's perimeter. The final step was the caulking work on the exterior, using a high quality caulk. Their cleanup was also first rate. I am very aware of the multitude of issues that can arise on a window replacement project. If you shop around, don't jump at a low price - because you can end up very sorry. My interactions with sales, project management, and installation from Newman Windows and Doors was really really good. I highly recommend Newman to anyone considering a new window and door project. read more

Pros: The service is timely. The windows insulate well. Cons: (1) Needed a window replaced after installation because it was blemished and a door screen because it did not slide correctly. This required additional scheduling. Would have appreciated better quality control. Expect to require an additional amount of time to replace defective materials. (2) The installer broke a lamp shade and told me the company will replace. I called multiple time to have the item replaced but they never did. Expect the company to not replace personal items the installer may break. read more

The hold music at Newman windows says "no stucco damage," but I disagree. Judge for yourself from my photos for this ongoing project. Our 34 window install started Jan 2023 and is still not complete and the stucco and paint repairs are still not done. Upon install they took out one window they shouldn't have and we waited 2 1/2 months for them to come out today to replace the window they broke. The "stucco and paint crew" was supposed to come out today, too, to fix all these stucco problems, but the "install" crew new nothing about it. In addition, our appointment time today was 1:30pm and they showed up at 3pm. The only thing on time at Newman is their accounting dept. I received an invoice today for the remaining balance that I won't pay until they finish the job and repair all of the stucco and paint damage. The way they use the caulk (especially on the exterior) is extremely inconsistent. Some windows get a wide application and the window next to it may have a thin application. On the exterior it ends up making window look odd. See photos for an example. read more

I chose Newman because of the great saleperson Nicci, but I certainly regret choosing the company now. The company did not schedule enough time for the installation. The install crew worked until nighttime, and left a big mess of glass and debris behind. I refused to sign off on the windows (and pay) until the issues were fixed, which resulted in the company putting in effort to actually do a good job. There were some dents in the wall which got fixed with drywall and paint by the company after I complained, the installers broke a piece of decoration on the wall which I had deducted from the price of windows but the company fought SO MUCH against it for a while, and a second crew had to come redo the interior window trim. There was a huge disconnect between what the install team told me vs corporate. I don't trust the company, it seems they only care about good work if you complain about it. You do not know what you are going to get at installation, no matter how much the sales person wow's you. I wish I had chosen Pelican or Coughlin companies for this work. read more

Did they install quality windows? Yes. Do I feel overcharged for the service that they provided? Yes. Did they leave the house a mess? Yes. Broken blinds? Yes. Put furniture back where it belonged? No. While the windows are nice, I am unhappy with how the house was left after - trash all over the backyard, furniture (beds, desks, etc.) all moved around and not put back in original place, etc. They broke our blinds, didn't put all of them back up. Caulking dripped down onto our new glass windows and left stains. Overall it was fairly sloppy. There are black marks on the brand new frames around our windows they installed. We tried to get them to reduce price or give discount for broken blinds and damage to brand new window frames they installed but customer service was not helpful. read more

Pros: Great, friendly, hardworking, timely, great with pets of an installation team. Nicolai, Chris and Fernando have such attention to detail and are so professional. They each took the time to answer any questions, were super friendly, highly skilled at their job, always set up protrective coverings on my floors and ensured they cleaned up after each visit. To expand on my great with pets comment, I definitely tried to keep the cats from getting in the way but the team was always kind to them when they interacted with them. In terms of quality of product, these windows have made a world of a difference in keeping our condo cool and quiet. We replaced the "1970s original to the building" windows and are so happy we were able to get it all completed before the start of summer. Cons: Not necessarily a con, but something worth mentioning: Length of time to complete project. It took four visits total spanning over 2 months when we were initially told it would be completed in 1 visit. I definitely try to be understanding as manpower and product availability isn't certain, however as someone in the military taking time off work isn't easy and definitely getting on the schedule for install is quite a wait so I accepted the dates I was given but it was difficult coordinating the time off requests. I also feel that communication with scheduling felt disorganized at times. I had to call multiple times to get an answer for times and dates. So we would definitely recommend this company just be patient, overall product installation and quality is great. read more

I had a pleasant experience with Newman Windows. They were the first company to respond that carried the manufacturer I was interested in. No hard sell. No car salesman pitch. No upselling. No reiterating what a "great deal" I'm getting. Just presented options for what I wanted and left it to me to decide to move forward or not. The install crew of Jacob, Vairon, Rudy, and Adam worked tirelessly to complete the project in one day even though they were all overtasked. They put in extended hours to get it all done correctly with a final walk through with Vairon. Jacob came a few days later to address a few minor things I had noted. Put floor protectors on my wood floors to protect them and installed, cleaned and made sure the blinds worked as they did before they got there. I don't even know where to begin. I booked this over a month ago because I was only in town for 2 days, and first they tried to reschedule it the week prior. An 8-4 project became 5:30, and I cannot tell you how AWFUL they left the window frame and surrounding area. Apparently I was told 'painting was not included,' but wasn't really made aware that I'd have to actually hire a separate contractor to make it look 'decent.' First, had I been made aware of that, I at least would have scheduled it in the 2 days I was here, so it would be ready for my new tenants. Now not only is the general wall filthy, but there are 'cut lines' way outside the window frame seen from the outside, and the inside is full of gaps around the frame. Fully disappointed. Went with them because I wanted the Milgard window, but probably should have gone with a general contractor and a Home Depot window. Not only would it have been cheaper (since now I also have to hire someone to FIX IT), but I wouldn't have extra stress, and it would look nice + be done. Go somewhere else! Miguel did show up the next day (albeit unannounced), and worked about 4-5 hours to patch and paint. While I appreciate his efforts and time, I'm not so sure about the general customer service and what was deemed ok originally. For some reason Yelp didn't allow my photos to upload :( read more

Nineteen days ago I left a review for the purchase and installation of two Milgard Tuscany Windows and Milgard Tuscany slider. I have a four star review only because the screens were not available to be installed the same day as the windows. We waited for the screens to arrive and when they did, the slider screen arrived damaged and could not be installed. We were told we would be contacted about when the "repaired" screen would be installed. A couple of weeks later and we are still waiting for that call. I have left several messages which have not been returned. Today we got through and were referred to the "service department", and promised again that someone would call and schedule the slider screen installation. We clarified again that we did not want a "repaired" screen but a new screen from the manufacturer. We're now going on three weeks since the window installation as we approach summer with no slider screen and no estimate of when we might receive one or even if we will receive a new slider acteen as opposed to a "repaired" one. Very disappointed in this lack of follow-up after a great product and great installation team was last here. read more

This is the 2nd time we used Newman in Carlsbad CA. Recently moved to older mobile home & replaced All aluminum windows/screens along with a new slider. The saleman, Michael, was on time and spent as much time we needed to show us all the type windows available & answered all our questions. Greg came out later on to verify the measurements and described how they would work with the alum. siding on the coach. Delivery was sooner than orig quote and WOW the installation was so smooth....2 trucks arrived on time @8am with a crew of 4. They wasted no time putting down floor/carpet protectors. Left around 3pm after they cleaned up the house & vacuumed at each window. Very Professional !!! Very pleased again using Newman. Wish I had chosen whomever my neighbors have been choosing, because their retrofit windows look better. As is typical, everything sounds great during the sales pitch, but this obviously very busy company ended up proving to be very disorganized and the work doesn't look good. They never told me the windows I was choosing would not be uniform upon completion, even though I chose all Newman Trinsic windows. I did not know the one new construction slider would have a different exterior finish and look than the other (retrofit) slider and windows on the rear of the house. There were several scheduled work days that ended in no shows (I got one new construction slider and 10+ retrofit windows, so my project was longer than just a retrofit project, but still). We had to call often to ask when the next time people would come work on our job would be. Regarding the retrofit windows, they should look like a nice finished product; however, the caulk lines around the windows looks very amateur and bumpy. A few of Newman's employees are really good, but one problem with choosing a company like Newman is that you don't necessarily get a skilled, licensed contractor doing your work - you more likely get an unlicensed, less skilled employee of that contractor. This could be okay with good quality control by the contractor, but, see below. That didn't seem to happen. Some windows weren't even caulked airtight. I found a couple of places where you could see daylight to the outside through the window's edge, and I pointed it out and they fixed it. Their disorganization showed when they came a second time to fix this same issue and I was left confused as to whether it was a mistake or if it needed two visits, and so was the person who showed up.). This highlights one of the biggest disappointments about choosing this company. Even though they send out unsupervised, possibly (likely) unlicensed workers to do the work, they didn't appear to have anybody with a license come by after the job to check things. We let them know we were unhappy. Some guy came out, took pictures, blamed others and the salesman, essentially told me the work could be better but was good enough, and that was it. We never heard anything else and got tired of the BS. Check out the pics for examples of the poor finishing and cleanup. I would not choose Newman Windows and Doors again. read more

Update: Newman Windows and Doors contacted me and has agreed to take steps to make things right. Updating my review from 3 starts to 5. I have mixed feelings about the job. On the one hand, the Stucco guys, Greg A. and Ryan S. were amazing. They were not only super professional and highly courteous, they also went above and beyond, doing a couple of extra things that were outside the scope of their responsibilities. When I asked questions about how things worked, they answered thoroughly and taught me many things. It was really great. On the corporate side of things, there was something left to be desired. The salesman advertised the job as a two-step process: (1) The doors/windows would be installed and then (2) the stucco and interior finishing work would be done. Hoo boy was that not the case. After having the door and window installed, I had to wait for two weeks before they scheduled a crew to come out and do the flashing. After over a week went by with no word from Newman, I had to call to get them to schedule a crew to do the pre-stucco cementing work. Then, another week+ went by and I had to call again to get them to send someone in to do the interior finishing work. That crew showed up unannounced and 90 minutes late and installed the wrong size interior finishing (not their fault; they were given the wrong size by corporate). The final result looked really awful. I had to wait another week+ before a second crew came out to redo the work. Finally, the (awesome) stucco crew came out to finish the stucco work yesterday. All in all, it was not a two-step process. We had to make arrangements SIX TIMES for work crews to come out to complete a door+window installation job and we had to constantly contact Newman Windows and Doors to get them to continue and eventually finish the job. I totally understand supply chain issues, worker shortages and all that but corporate really needs to improve their customer relations and communication so customers don't feel like they have to keep pinging corporate to schedule crews to finish a contracted job. read more
