They are absolutely liars and deceivers. The initial price they give you is NOT the final price, every "update" they call you with is a chance to increase their price. Then they lock you in when it is too late to get another company and then you are stuck paying the increased price. Then, they are not available on weekends and tell you to call them on those days if needed. Lastly, they guaranteed me a delivery date that was agreed upon on every single "update" call, then the day before they tell me it's no guarantee. They are terrible! It was what they called a "mini move" and I was told that the items picked up in Ky would be at my home in Minnesota in 3-10 days. We recently Scheduled a move with this courier to move my family and I from Fort Wayne Indiana, to Independence, Mo. We initially called to set up the move, everything was great. they were attentive and created a quote for us. At the end of the phone call we said we needed to think about it. their Billing lady said that we would need to lock in a deposit right now if we wanted to secure the truck. If we did not secure the truck she said she could not guarantee any timeline (Yes it was short notice) We Discussed our previous move of how it required 2/3 of a semi to move us, and that the current home we were moving out of was a 4 bedroom, moving into another 4 bedroom At the end of the conversation they pressured us into a deposit, ENSURING that they would not only have enough space, but that my rate was good for my home. This deposit was 2036.68, with an expected Out the door price of Approximately 7000. They sent a moving truck with the capacity to move half of our property. they specifically asked how many boxes. We said exactly how many...They did not ask the size of the boxes. These were wardrobe boxes. Somewhat large, and around 5 ft tall. I asked about the accuracy of their program, they said it was INCREDIBLY accurate. Great we thought. Moving day comes. Of course too small of truck parks in the drive way. They said they could make everything fit, with a modification of the bill. I said go ahead and see what it will cost. They said its going to be 10,000. I of course decline, thats outrageous. We could have had an actual reputable company move us for that amount. The entire time their driver is pressuring us to start moving product into their truck so they can force us to use their service. The entire circumstance was so shady. Afterwards, the company decides out of nearly 2000 dollars, they want to return less than 500 for 3 Mexicans to show up to our house with the wrong size truck. Dont walk away from this company. Beware - Misleading and Unprofessional I had a very disappointing experience with One Source Van Lines. In February 2025, I called for a moving estimate from Illinois to Texas. The representative pushed hard for me to pay a $995.23 deposit, reassuring me multiple times that if I needed to cancel, it wouldn't be a problem because "they're not like other moving companies that scam people." That turned out to be completely false. What they don't tell you clearly -- while pressuring you to pay -- is that they only offer a refund if you cancel within 72 hours. They don't exactly hide it in the contract, but they make a big deal on the phone to make you feel safe paying the deposit. It's all part of the pitch. Unfortunately, an extreme and unexpected situation came up that made it impossible for me to move -- even if I wanted to -- and I contacted them to cancel. Despite the circumstances, they refused to refund me a single dollar. When I spoke to Daisha, who handles cancellations, she was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional right from the start. There was no compassion, no effort to help, and absolutely no accountability. They also did not conduct any in-person inspection of my belongings, and failed to provide the required FMCSA documents that explain your moving rights -- both of which are red flags. BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I booked a move from Texas to Oregon. Everyone on the phone was very nice. I paid the deposit. An hour after I booked the move, I called them back to ask them if my possessions will be driven right away from the storage unit to the house. I was told no. Once your stuff is packed in the box truck, it is taken to a warehouse, unloaded by many workers then reloaded into a semi with a bunch of other peoples possessions. Then they have up to 21 DAYS TO LEAVE THE WAREHOUSE. So, even if you're ready to move into your house you have to wait for them. I cancelled the move on that phone call, remember one hour after I booked it. I knew from the contract that I could cancel within 72 hours. Heres where I messed up... If I had continued reading, it says you have to send an email to a specific address within those 72 hours to cancel to only receive 85% of your deposit back. When I called to cancel, I specifically asked Kristy if I would have any trouble getting my money back, I was told no, it wouldn't be a problem. I called them almost everyday for 2 weeks inquiring about my refund, continuously being assured I wouldn't have trouble getting my money back. Here is why this company is scamming you... NO ONE TOLD ME within the first 72 hours of my cancelation about this email. I talked to them on the phone many times within this time frame and no one advocated for me and said, "hey, dont forget to send that email so you can get your money back." I was told by Kristy that I would receive a call from "billing" by that day or the next day. I did not receive a call from Daisha until 5 days later. I now see that that is by design because the 72 hours had elapsed. I wasn't told about this email I had to send until 2 WEEKS after I cancelled by the "manager", Dillon, who was extremely rude and hates his life. Honestly I would too if I worked for this company and had to talk to angry people everyday. After more than a month of trying to get our money back, they offered us $325.16 when the deposit was over $2,000. Random number, who knows why. They then said in order to get it I had to fill out a form that they emailed to me. Guess what? I never got the email, shocking I know. They claimed they had the wrong email for me even though I had received many emails from them already to the correct address. We put a poor BBB review up, then they said we wouldn't get the $300 back unless we took it down (which we will not be doing). Long story short, I should have read the contract better, and not trusted them because they were kind on the phone (except Dillon). If this company wanted to give your money back, they would have helped me by reminding me of the email I had to send. Terrible moving company. Lied about being brokers - when pick up came it was a completely different moving company. That's how they make their money scammers!! $1900 deposit for NOTHING. I gave them a full list of all my furniture including exact measurements. Was rushed off the phone by "Tim" who claimed he wasn't a broker and rushed me off the phone. Tim claimed I could call him with any problems, ignored me and my roommates texts calls and vms. Never got a call back. They took the wrong info down in terms of what I had and wrote that everything was much smaller so by the time the different company came (ESEA van lines) they said I had double what was on the quote and much bigger boxes. I confirmed 20 large bankers boxes with measurements and they wrote I had 5 small 18x18 boxes. To move everything it would add another $3-4k.. My apartment is now filled with furniture 2 days out from my move that I have no time to sell and have to get rid of!!! Fuck this entire company. They screwed me out of $8000!!!!! Update: 9/13 - Lisa from management called and said her team "reviewed my call with Tim" and he did state he was a broker. NOT TRUE. They wouldn't let me listen to the call again saying it's against company policy. They offered me $300 for the inconvenience and to get that I would have to take my review down. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We received our initial quote. It took 2.5 hours to cover EVERYTHING on the initial call. The estimate came in and we agreed. Then came the QA call two days before the movers. Price went up significantly, but we agreed because we had added some items. Within 30 min they are handing us another form to sign which is significantly higher again! Now, we are told this is worst case scenario.... But have you ever gotten money back from a company? . Issues that were made known in the initial quote (stairs to climb, grandmother clock) all of a sudden were adding money to our quote. Now, the truck is loaded. They have me. Awful Experience - Avoid at All Costs I cannot begin to express how horrible my experience with One Source Vanlines was. From start to finish, this company has been nothing short of a nightmare. To begin with, their sales team is incredibly pushy and aggressive. I felt like I was dealing with used car salespeople--constantly pressuring me to sign a contract and pay a deposit against my will. They harassed me all day long, to the point where I felt I had no choice but to give in just to get them to stop contacting me. Then came pickup day. The movers were scheduled to arrive at 9 am. They didn't show up until 4 pm, forcing me to cancel my flight and drive through California fire evacuation zones at night just to make sure I was there for the move. To make matters worse, when they finally arrived, I was told I had to pay an additional $2,400 above what my original contract stated--despite all the same items being moved. At this point, I felt completely scammed. Customer service was absolutely useless. No one helped me, and I was left to figure everything out on my own. I was forced to leave behind many items that were part of the original agreement, and I was told my belongings would arrive within 5 days. Instead, it took 15 days for my stuff to show up. I wasn't given any updates, and I only got a call at 11:30 pm the night before my delivery, informing me they would be arriving the next day. I had to take time off work to accommodate them, or else I'd be charged a "hold fee." When the movers did arrive, they were smoking right outside my door, leaving my brand-new home smelling of cigarettes. They also damaged my walls, scraping paint and puncturing drywall by forcing furniture against them. And of course, when it was time to pay, there were more surprise charges added on top of everything. Bottom line: I strongly advise you to stay far away from One Source Vanlines. I expected to receive my delivery within 10 days after pickup, as promised by the moving person who picked up my order and took my payment information. That time came and went with no contact or delivery. I called customer service every three days, and each time I was given a date 2,3, or more days away. If i could give this company 0 stars I would. I called for an out of state estimate and after 30 minutes of conversation, I was asked if i'd like to move forward. I kindly asked for the quote to be sent to my email so I could compare with other sources. Adrianna Brandon (accounts manager) continiued to pressure me into giving answer, I asked a second time for the estimate to be sent to my email. Her tone of voice immediately changed and she repeated the same question as if my response would change. I had to hang up because she would not simply email me the details we discussed. She then texted me directly from her cell phone (772) 276-6990, and said how she could have "worked out a price, but you hung up on me" and "i don't know why you got offended and hung up". I didn't respond because she knew exactly why I hung up. She was trying to force me into a deal that I hadn't even discussed with my family. I had to block her email and the company number. Today (2 days later) I get multiple calls that I didn't answer followed by ANOTHER text from her direct number. I replied "I just don't need your complany's services" her response "Well could of always worked on the price for you but you hung up on me.. Best of luck to you".... I was in shock that this woman is still harassing me because I hung up because SHE was rude and forceful. I have NEVER experienced anything like this and im floored that someone is so stuck on getting hung up on, and then openly taking it to an emotional level through text. The only answer we get when we call is that they are working on it. we have never been so frustrated like we are now. I contacted One Source end of March. Was given an initial price of $1974 for about 280 cubic feet that I would need. Several days later we went over my items again and was told I needed more "cf" and the price went up to $3335. The day of the move I had 2 stops one at a storage unit the at a resident. After loading my items from storage was told I needed more "cf" And needed to an extra $600 on the spot or my items at the residence could not be loaded. So now my items were taken to a wharehouse and rummaged through. I had 2 containers zipped tied that were opened and looked through. One had my firearm which was locked and broken into and the other had documents which had personal information. Now for the delivery they contacted me the night before and stated they could not get a semi into the storage unit so they would have to charge me for a shuttle which was $500. Movers I had a dreadful experience with one source van lines LLC. The mover walked in and within 2 minutes asked for $700 increase or else he won't take my stuff. They tried to overcharged me by $700 on the day of the move without any prior notice. The mover was EXTREMELY rude and seemed rushed, and their lack of professionalism was evident throughout the process. He kept telling me nobody is gonna pick up, stop wasting his time when I tried to call the call center, it seemed as if it was planned. When I questioned the additional charges, they were vague and unhelpful. Despite my efforts to resolve the issue, customer service has been unresponsive. After more than an hour of going back and forth, he got the manager on the phone and she literally said "you're lucky he only increased by $700, they usually charge more as they fit." I was in complete shock! They rushed out the house and kept my $750 downpayment without moving my stuff. I strongly advise against using One Source Van Lines LLC. I reached out to One Source Van Lines and signed with them to move some of my things from my house in Maryland to my extended family's home in South Carolina in October. I paid a deposit of $1200 and it was NEVER EXPLAINED to me that the only refund I could receive on this was within 72 hours of signing (no other legitimate company would require this. Canceling within 72 hours of the service date would be expected but not 72 hours within booking a service). I WAS told however that if any changes needed to be made to the order, I just needed to contact them within 7 days of the move date. In addition to the stress of moving and of my divorce (where I have essentially lost everything), I ended up in the hospital for 12 days in September. During this time, I was forced to agree to let my ex-husband keep all of my remaining assets. This was both out of my control and a legitimate reason to cancel with One Source Van Lines, because I had nothing to move. Weeks before the move date, my family tried contacting the company numerous times to cancel and receive a refund. One Source Van Lines refused to speak with them even though I literally could not contact them myself because of my hospital stay. Once I left the hospital, I contacted them (still plenty of time before the 7-day cutoff) and found Ms. Daisha in the billing department to be extremely unhelpful and uncaring. She was very unprofessional and would not let me speak to any of the managers or the individual who I originally set up the order with and she refused to give me any refund EVEN THOUGH ONE SOURCE NEVER TOUCHED ANY OF MY THINGS, NEVER MOVED ANY OF MY ITEMS, AND NEVER DID ANY WORK WHATSOEVER ON MY ORDER. I sent multiple letters to the company headquarters, which were all returned to me unopened. They told me no they do not come out because of Covid while Covid was a couple years ago and I had moved from Florida to South Carolina and had two moving company representatives come to my home to do the estimates for that move. After two years, I decided to move back to Florida When I called this company. They required a deposit and said they would not come out because of Covid after talking with the guy, I decided to book the move having been in the moving industry myself for over 11 years the more I thought about it unless I felt good about it because they would not come out. I called another company who was happy to come out so I had called this company three weeks after I booked the move to cancel with them and they are keeping my deposit of $1910.00. Then, when it was past the window to cancel, they came back saying the estimate was off and they would be charging $4000 more for the move, for the same items viewed during the initial estimate. They later came down in price after arguing my case and complaining of one of their employees cursing at me over the phone but it was still $9400 for the move and we had completely lost faith in their company's integrity. I asked for a refund of my mother's deposit. They refused. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they then promised to refund my mother's deposit if I would remove the complaint. DON'T DO IT!!!! They provide you an initial price and then once you sign the contract, they ask for more money. My sister ended up having to pay almost triple the initial price the told her. Then what are you to do, because they hold your items ransom? She would contact them for updates and they would never return her calls. When she finally did get her items, some of her containers had the zip ties broken off that she had put on them including the lock to her firearm. You can tell they pried the lock to the case open. They know what they are doing and that they scam people. When you finally get yo speak with someone they treat you like they're the victims and use the word "attacking" to make it seem like you are attacking them. I say this because different people I talked to used the same word. My mother-in-law needed to move and I wanted to help her in any way that I could. I told her that I would take care of the moving details. I did my due diligence and researched reviews of countless companies. I picked the top 3 that looked best and got quotes. One Source Van Lines wasn't the cheapest and it wasn't the most expensive. I provided them with the list of furniture and since she was selling the house, they pulled the pictures of the furniture off of Zillow so that we could get the closest estimate possible. The thing that made me choose this company over the others was Joann and what she told me. She said the reason that we aren't the lowest is because most companies will give you a cheap quote and then they will increase the price on the day of the move. We won't do that to you.... My response was of surprise! I did not know that moving companies did such a thing. I appreciated her honesty and her commitment to not price-gouging my mother. I can appreciate an honest company that tells me everything upfront. The quote was for $5590. This would be to move all of her furniture from Cheney Washington to Boise Idaho (6.5 hour drive). In full transparency, she did have a baby grand piano and heavier items like a china hutch. We ensured that we listed all of this for the initial quote. We decided also to have her car shipped so that she wouldn't have to do the drive alone. This quote was $695 for the car which is a separate moving process. One Source called her 3 days before picking it up they adjusted the price to $11,000 (Full disclosure we did add on more boxes so we expected an increase, not $6k worth for approx 20 more boxes). To our surprise, One Source Van Lines outsources to another moving company. This company shows up at 3 pm on the day of the move with two guys. They walk around the house and then tell us the bad news. The price has now gone up from $5590 to $11,000 and now to $14,386. That nearly tripled the initial quote. We were told that the initial quote was not correct and that they also forgot to charge for packing materials. How could someone make that huge of an error in the initial quote? So now, since they waited till the day of the move, she has no other option than to pay them the money. She called One Source to report this and the person on the other line had the audacity to call my mother condescending. The customer service was not professional. After the call, they send me an email offering to credit her either $300 now or $450 in three payments. The caveat to this is that she will have a contractural gag order that says she cannot say anything bad about One Source. My belief is this is how they get people to stay quiet and not write bad reviews. There is no way that we are the only ones who experienced this price-gouging nightmare. My mother opted to not take the money so that I could write this review and warn others of this company. Also, I wanted to note that they also outsourced the move of the car as well. They did not come and pick up when they said that they would. We had to give a window and we said 1/28-1/30. They finally ended up coming two weeks later on 2/15 and tried to charge her an extra $80 at the time of delivery. In conclusion, their initial quote was egregiously underbid by $9k, the companies that they chose to stand behind were not what was promised, and their customer service lacked empathy.
