Found this spot during our day trip to Brooklyn. Loved the menu options. I had the chili hot dog but asked that all the extras be held back just the chili please. It wasn't bad at all but the chili definitely could have used more flavor. Kendal, my daughter had the chicken sandwich, think Chik fil a. She enjoyed it and we both loved the fries, mine sweet potato and hers crinkle. Love that they had a baked option but we both did fried. I LOVE this place! So great to finally find a vegan place that sells plant based burgers- and all diff kinds. I dont have to be stuck going to pubs and diners to get the same old 'veggie' burger. In addition, they make slamming shakes with coconut milk or soy milk and they use coconut whipped cream. Yummm!! I've tried 70% of the flavors and they are ALL good! I just can't with this place any more. I have been a repeated customer here since they opened, and I just waited for 30+ minutes to get a veggie burger and tots. They guy who appeared to be the manager was screaming "I need x, I need y" to the guys working their ass off in the back while failing to notice that he'd left my order sitting there the whole time. The worst part of this is that he took an attitude with me when I politely asked if they were working on my order after skipping over me for over 30 minutes!!!! This is ridiculous treatment for this price. The monsta sub is out of this world. Each and every ingredient was good on its own but combined it was like heaven in your mouth. The chef found one of the best tasting vegan cheese products I have ever tried. My daughter is a cheese fry fanatic and she loved the vegan cheese version. When a fussy teen raves about food, you know you hit the mark. We had a large group and the favorite was the chicken nuggets. We were having trouble deciding on a smoothie flavor so they made us 5 different ones to try. They were all amazing. The flavors worked so well together and they were just the right amount of sweet. It's very hard to come across vegan food that is really tasty. Now I'm not a vegan, I'm a baby pescatarian, but I been here twice already and I must say it is still abslutely amazing. The first time I tried the Beyond Burger which was really good. The 2nd time I tried the classic chzburger and that was amazing as well. Only thing is they didn't put the special sauce on the chzburger but no big deal. Now the item that I can not resist is the Vanilla Shake with coconut instead of soy. It is aaaaamazing. Better than any shake from McDonald's, Burger King even Starbucks (I'm not exaggerating). This shake was so thick and so delicious it was worth every penny. I wish they had larger cups. The staff is very confused here. It's as if they are displaced, from another planet, and have no clue what they're supposed to be doing. Waiting 30mins for a simple shake is only justified by the redeeming fact that there is no other place around here to get a banana coconut milk shake with chocolate sprinkles, which is also the only reason a mildly tempered person wouldn't lose their mind and actually find humor in what is the real life "Good Burger." I have been here twice I had the All American Burger with french fries. The burger patty itself is good but, I think the what is most helpful is all the add-ons. You can customize the burger to the bite that you like best. Tempeh bacon is meh but the grilled onions are perfectly cooked. The fries are done in safflower which generates a different grease feel than most fries. Still good just different. I think this is a worthy option especially in this valley of fast food. read more

The reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 is because I never saw an option to have a non gluten free bun. I love that they have gluten free and everything is vegan but honestly I really don't like gluten free buns. I got the beyond burger which I've had many times but every place does it differently. I'd go again if they had an option but I won't because the buns tasted and felt stale (I get it it's gluten free). Not my cup of tea. HOWEVER, I took the majority of it home and ate it the next day. It was way better the next day probably because the buns soaked up the juices from the burger overnight. If you're gluten free this is your heaven. I have been to NLB four time since it opened this year, and each of my wait-times were increasingly longer. I will not be going back anytime soon, unless they drastically improve their service. The worst part is, I order only a soy/milkshake each time (which I love). Even when there is no line, I have waited between 25-30 minutes each time! Tonight, I ordered my shake quickly and then both the cashier and person making shakes left the area to assist in the kitchen for over 15 minutes. When they came back, my order was forgotten. It is in the same building as the Apple store and Whole Foods in kind of a food court, like at an airport, but higher end. (Oh how Flatbush has changed.) Welcome to NYC NLB! I first tried them while out in Portland last summer and when I heard they opened a location here I had to check it out. I ordered the Brooklyn burger, tator tots with the special sauce, onions and cheese and a dark chocolate pb shake. The burger was pretty good, the buns they use are a little dry, but there was enough bbq sauce and cheese to counter it. The tator tots were my favorite!! Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful, and with the cheese and special sauce, I probably could have just had that and been satisfied. I also enjoyed the shake, which I got with coconut soft serve. Overall, a great experience and I will be back to try some of the other menu items. Another thing to highlight is the service. I came on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty packed. The space inside NLB is small with some counter tops and high tables, but you can also find tables in a food court like area behind some of the other vendors. They give you a number and you can go sit wherever and they will find you and bring you your food. This is a really nice touch! read more
