I tried the Next Level Burger that is inside the new 365 Whole Foods in Lake Oswego. I had the "Animal" hamburger which is the tallest hamburger I've ever eaten. Its also entirely fake! The meat, bacon, and cheese are all vegan substitutes. Next Level Burger has gotten into some trouble with their marketing as they don't advertise themselves as a vegan restaurant so some customers thought they were ordering a real meat hamburger (for this reason the cashiers now let their customers know they are not ordering a hamburger with actual meat in it). I thought this was the best fake hamburger I've ever eaten but a bit pricey at $15.00. read more

When I think about what this place has accomplished, I'm impressed. Eating vegetarian/vegan burgers are not usually as enjoyable as I would like them to be. They make eating burgers, french fries, and cheesy tater tots fun. This place also takes into consideration serving organic produce and gluten free options. I throughly appreciate that. I had about 4-5 burgers there and the last one took the cake. "The animal" burger was served really nice and hot. It was too big for me to eat like a normal burger so I split it up. I've had the coconut lime kombucha and the cookies & cream milkshake made with coconut milk. These are much healthier and tastier alternatives to common options you can get elsewhere. They have Next Level all vegan burger "restaurant kiosk." inside of 365 grocery. We had a couple of burgers and shakes and they were quite good. 3.8 stars out of 5. We had them on opening day so I want to come back here again after they get their "sea legs" and improve a little. The food was not hot when we got it, more like lukewarm. we understand! Two things that are kinda lame: they forget something every other time I order something to go! So my order of burger fries and a drink is $20 and almost always missing a key ingredient! I came back with a friend to order dairy-free shakes, and on the side I orderes the animal style fries. I really enjoyed the fries, especially because they're not greasy. But hardly any brownie in it. The shake alone was almost more than the actual burger. Seemed like they were skimping on ingredients. Everytime I come here it is a little over 20.00 $ and it is just me. For a burger joint really? Place is out of place with their prices, wayyy too expensive. Who are they trying to fool? After meal feel a little let down well with wallet that is. If they lower their prices I'll come back. Got the bleu bbq fries (didn't like). Was too over cooked. Also got the garden style grilled cheese (was really good) but they forgot the romaine lettuce and forgot to cut in half. Got it with gluten free bread but was 1.00$ extra. So when I moved up to WA I was super stoked to eat here (I live the same distance from the Seattle location too). Exceeded expectations! Not only is there a breakfast menu now but I can choose what type of milk is used in my shake and sub for beyond patties! Oh man. I'm stoked. So excited they finally brought this to Lake Oswego, especially because it is somewhat of "vegan desert" here compared to Portland. When I'm looking for food I search on Yelp and then sort by distance and look at the numbers of stars. This was the closest "burger" place with 4 starts so off I go. I gave this place one star for three reasons. First, this is the 2nd time I have searched for and driven to a restaurant only to find out they are inside a grocery store (Whole Foods). They should make that clear; I'd pass knowing that. Second when I went in there was one employee and a self ordering terminal. That terminal cannot be read with polarized glasses so I just ordered from the highlights (larger font). When I see "classic burger" or "all American cheeseburger" I expect a burger, not a non-beef (plant) burger. I had no idea that I bought a plant based burger until it came. Third, it sucked.
