Aptly named. The rare health-conscious burger shack. Go if you have a chance. What I love most is their serious commitment to the planet: biodegradable bamboo dishes. (They should sell their dishes. Definitely one of our vegan staples here in Lake Oswego. All vegan / plant based. So excited they finally brought this to Lake Oswego, especially because it is somewhat of "vegan desert" here compared to Portland. Everything is amazing including their burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and salads. The fries and tots can be either baked or fried. They also have a secret menu and seasonal options. I've tried vegan burgers at other restaurants before and they weren't great so I was skeptical of Next Level but I actually really like their burgers! If you've never had a vegan burger the best way to go into it is to not expect it to taste like beef. I'm a plant based eater and find no veggie burgers to be a pleasurable or tolerable experience from smell, taste and texture. Wanting a break from my go to bowls I decided to fire up Happy Cow and give it another go. This place is located in a Whole Foods 365 in Lake O. I found the company has noble values, is plant based with a courteous staff. I opted for the classic burger and side salad. It came on a whole wheat bun with typical basic vegan condiments. I usually don't do oil but it had vegan mayo which I let slide. The first bite was surprising because I didn't immediately hate this burger like every other veggie burger I've had from home made to Beyond Burgers. As someone who believes a good burger cooked to medium rare is the best food you can get, i was very interested in trying something different. I ordered the all american burger, the one with "bacon" on top. The staff was nice and kindly reminded me that they were all vegan. I assured them that I knew and wanted to try a vegan burger. When my burger arived, I was actually kind off excited to bite down into the patty. It was obvious after one bite that it was a vegan burger. It didnt taste 100% like the real think as I had hoped, but there was still a little bit of that "meaty" taste. Texture wise, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. As for the "bacon", I think it needed work texture wise, but it tasted not far off from the real thing. My favorite part however was how crisp and fresh the vegetables tasted, something you would probably expect from an all vegan restaurant. In conclusion, whether you're a non-vegan or a full on animal lover, I think you should give this burger a shot. You might be surprised as to what you'll find. read more

I work in the area and have limited options on where to eat since I'm vegan and I shop in the grocery store in which they are located - but since they raised their prices and haven't raised their staff expectations in terms of the way the treat clients, it's worth the extra 10 minute drive to go Native Foods. The menu said Meaty Burgers, which I must have read as meat, not putting it all together. That being said, I have had delicious veggie burgers, and boca style meat burgers, I am not against vegans or vegetarians. But being pregnant, I had a craving for a real meat burger, with all the fixings. My husband got the special burger, and I just got the classic with a side of chili. I said I wanted the vegetarian classic burger. She swiped my credit card quickly and I didn't see the total. I asked for a receipt which she brought to us after the burgers were served. Total $18.50! I don't eat wheat or red meat, so haven't had a good burger in quite some time. This happily gave me my fix! I would come here even without such restrictions because the flavor was so good. My palate is a bit biased but the plant based cheese was remarkable. I have been at this place three times. Unfortunately each time they took my order incorrectly. The second time I asked for kid's size shake and they charged me for regular size. The person in charge tried to refund the difference and she wasn't successful. The third time I went there, I ordered the original hamburger, fries and kid size shake. Again I was charged for regular size item. I did not want to say anything to the staff member because I was in a rush. My order arrived and as soon as I had the first couple bites I noticed the taste of the hamburger patty was different (not as tasty) than previous times. I asked for extra sauce for my fries and the staff response was: I had to charge you 50 cents more. Grrrr!! This is when I realized I was been taken advantage of. I told him how he had made a mistake and charged me for a regular size shake. He denied it and started arguing with me. I showed him the receipt. Then he went to his computer and tried to refund the difference. I said: can I please have the sauce for the fries? He said yes and kept trying hard on his computer to refund my money even after I told him I didn't care. I asked for the third time for the sauce for fries. Finally he brought it to me. This place has many issues: food quality made me sick. Prices are very expensive and I would mind to pay if the quality of the food was good. Also customer service is the worst. Who hired these people? That their first response when you ask for a condiment is I have to charge you for it. That's after Placing an 18.00 order for a sandwich with fries and shake. This is inside the 365 Grocery Store. I've just been there once, ordered different two burgers and french fries and sweet potato fries -BAKED !! So good. So nice to have a choice. The menu is rather large with lots of choices. The staff was helpful and efficient. Prices range from about $6 to $8.50 for a burger alone. Several choices of patties will keep me coming back to try more except that I really liked the one I had with "bacon" on it. I hear they are from Bend so it is fun to support a local Oregon business.
