My gas tank water heater was 20 years old and I decided to replace it pre-emptively. I requested a…read morequote from 3 companies, one of which was the Water Heater Doctor. Their quote came in the lowest and Brandon was extremely helpful on the phone, so I ended up choosing them. - The quote process was great: I submitted their online form, they gave me a call asking for more details, I sent them a few pictures, and they gave me another call with solutions and a quote. The quote also happened to be the cheapest of the 3 companies I got bids from. - The installation went very smoothly. I understand that direct vent water heaters are a little tricky to install, but Brandon installed perfectly. He arrived on time, got rid of our old water heater, and added a new water heater with several fixes: the overflow pipe now runs to the sink, he used a "flex vent" kit so the water heater can sit on the ground, and he put the water heater in a tray to reduce issues from slow leaks since I don't have a basement drain. - After the install, Brandon taught me how to change the temp / turn the water heater off / how to flush it / how to change the anode rod. Very pleased with the work and my new water heater is working flawlessly. The only downside was that there was no permit. I'm no expert on permits. Portland's website says that water heater changes require a permit. Brandon said it's a "gray area" for residential. I am not planning on selling the house and things looked good to me, so I don't mind too much.

They arrived on time, assessed the situation, then provided a solution which resulted in replacing the tank. The quote I received was reasonable so I agreed to the terms and conditions to move forward with the services. The tech cleaned and removed all trash and materials after installing the new heater. A couple months later I had a service issue which resulted in a warranty item needing to be replaced. Precision came out right away and performed the required services. I'm truly grateful for these guys and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for quality service from their professional staff. Thank you Precision!

After getting an extremely high estimate from a major national firm, with restrictive install dates (this kind of thing can't wait), I called Precision Water Heater and immediately connected with Paul. He provided a complete quote, on the spot by just looking at pictures, and located the right unit and installed it the very next morning. All work was completed within his originally quoted budget (a much better price than the others). In addition, he sealed the exterior wall outlet hole with special sealant that he purchased, and didn't charge me. I couldn't ask for a better experience or better contractor. I will use Precision for my future needs, and highly recommend them. bruce (california)

Companies do not earn and maintain a near perfect 5.0 rating without consistently delivering exceptional service, integrity, and quality workmanship--and this company exemplifies all three. We recently had our home repiped by Service Plus Plumbing, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Landon and his crew were professional, punctual, and consistently courteous. They arrived exactly when scheduled, communicated clearly throughout the entire process, and ensured we understood each step of the project. What could have been a disruptive undertaking was handled with efficiency and care. What truly set them apart was their commitment to going above and beyond. They took the time to answer every question, paid close attention to detail, and demonstrated genuine pride in their work. The craftsmanship was outstanding. Upon completion, they left our home remarkably clean. Aside from the expected wall cutouts--which were outside the scope of their work--you would not have known extensive plumbing work had just been performed. Their respect for our home and property was greatly appreciated. Equally impressive was their pricing. Their quote was beyond competitive, and the final invoice matched the original bid exactly, even though they invested significant time and effort to ensure we were completely satisfied with the finished result.

However, despite me mentioning repeatedly to Nathan that my shower was American Standard both on the phone and in my text message, Nathan took one look and was like: "Yeah, I don't know. I don't do American Standard." I opened part of it for him and showed him where it was leaking, and he was like: "Yeah, you need a new part." I explained that I had already replaced these parts at the advice of another plumber and it still leaked, so could he take a look if something was wrong with the installation perhaps. He just said "No, I don't know anything about American Standard, so I don't want to touch it." He gave me a helpful recommendation of calling George Morlan, and they connected me to a company that will be here in two days, but that means another two days without a shower and we have to delay leaving on our anniversary trip on Thursday morning to let the new plumbers in. This could have been avoided if AACT Plumbing had told me they don't do American Standard when I told them over the phone AND in a text: "I need an American Standard diverter fixed".

Desperate, I reached out to NextDoor and Kruckman Plumbing was given a glowing recommendation by a neighbor. I called, and within an hour Ron showed up and saved the day. He gave us a temporary fix that would let us use the water, and then he came back the next day and did a more permanent fix for a very reasonable price. Not only was he super dependable and knowledgeable, but he was also so friendly and cheerful to be around that it was hard to be stressed out. I seriously cannot recommend them enough, although it almost pains me to do so because I know they will get busy and get booked up in case we have another emergency. I have already referred them to my in-laws and have their card saved like it's gold. I saw the other review and I too wish they did electric because they are so awesome!

DO NOT HIRE MARK KRUCKMAN It's been a couple years since…read moreKruckman plumbing has received a review. Something must have happened in that time, because those were good reviews. My experience with Mark Kruckman was the worst experience with any contractor I've ever had. He did the plumbing in my new construction house and installed the water heater incorrectly, as well as the temperature control in the shower was put in upside down. I've been trying to get a hold of him for two months to fix his work, which he is under contract to do. (Water heater is still draining into a bucket, and I fixed the shower) When I finally got him on the calendar, he stood me up without notifying me. It took another week and a half to get him back on the phone after countless voicemails and texts to him. When I got him back on the phone, I asked him about his missed appointment. He immediately got combative and accused me of thinking I can run a business better than him. All I asked him for was a courtesy call to let me know he wouldn't be there. After reiterating that, he started yelling at me, and when I told him that he is done and not allowed in my house, he hung up on me. Some context from previous calls: I asked him if texting is a proper method for communication to confirm appointment times. His response: "I'm not a sixth grader, I don't have my phone in my face all day. But I have text capability". Okay, so if you don't prefer to text, calm down, provide some customer service and let me know that you prefer to talk on the phone. HOWEVER, getting him on the phone was like pulling teeth. DO NOT HIRE MARK KRUCKMAN. He does not value customers, will lie to you and you will still be stuck with the repairs needed in your home. Save yourself time and headache, go with a different plumber.
