I'm so glad I finally found this amazing little store after countless visits to Old Town. With a simple and minimalistic layout, the store tastefully displays all the different kinds of chocolatey treats they offer without overwhelming customers. My littles chose to try the Mango dark chocolate bar and the non dairy Strawberry Cream Oatmilk bar and I found kept asking them to share their goodies with me- they were so yummy! The store also has a fresh baked goods and drinks. We were too full after lunch to try them but will definitely be returning to try more. read more

Stopped in for an afternoon coffee pick-me up, and was pleasantly surprised it was a vegan coffee and chocolate shop. Ordered the rose cardamon latte with almond milk. I prefer moist chocolate bundt . -Also, I purchased a pack of 4 chocolate bars Peru: has caramel, smokey nuts, biscuits dry fruits, Madagascar: has plum ,citrus, raspberry and spices Dominican Republic : Rich chocolate and earthy flavors Brazil : Has tropical fruits and hints of grapefruit, pineapple with macadamia All of them have 72% Cocoa. -I also purchased a large bar of Mango Madagascar dark chocolate 70% cocoa. As far as cafes/chocolate shops go, definitely worth visiting. There are chocolate samples, and the drink options are interesting too. Hello there Oldtown! Hidden behind the Reyes Restaurant is Nibble Chocolate. This little chocolate shop has several options of delicious and varying flavors. We visited after a light dinner at Reyes. Dani was there and greeted us. She was so sweet and was very informative. We tried the sample chocolate bites. The chocolates were named after various countries: Dominican Republic, Brazil, Peru, Madagascar etc. All the chocolates come in dark chocolate or extra dark chocolate. I love this for the fact that the bitter tones of these chocolates complete the flavor. Ive enjoyed these chocolates and hope to be able to continue to come back and try all the different ones. The folks working in this place are also very friendly and seems like they enjoy engaging with the people visiting. This area gets very busy with so many tourists so they're able to help everyone without getting frustrated. I've also tried their Champorado and it was super delicious. I love stopping by here during the fall months especially dia de los muertos for the beautiful event with a side of Champorado. read more

This place is in old town San Diego, and it looks very minimalistic and looks like it is expensive, but definitely worth a try! They are all about natural ingredients in their chocolate! They offer truffles and different types of chocolate! I got the soft serve ice cream swirl with chocolate and vanilla and it was the best soft serve I have ever had. You can see the chocolate pieces that were used in it. It's a little on the grainy texture because you can taste the rich chocolate flavor that was used in it. Impulse buy while walking through Old Town. It's tucked away in the back in a little alley way with several other shops around it. Initially stopped to look at the coffee and ice cream flavors but ended up getting a chocolate horchata. It came with different options of milk so I got oat. The drink was so delicious, not too sweet, and not too chocolatey. The cinnamon level was perfect. The paper straw melted a bit in the drink but that's fine. The worker was nice enough although seemed a little annoyed. He mentioned he was supposed to be on his break but people started lining up so he kept working. It seemed like he was the only one working so I'm not sure who takes over while he's on break. He wasn't rude or anything but not overly nice. Dark chocolate over every other type of chocolate every time! While in Old Town we found Nibble Chocolate, a dark chocolate shop with simple and high-quality ingredients. It was packed on a Saturday night, but it's worth the wait. We waited in the line that went out the door and ordered a Hot Chocolate, which is a drink I don't normally like. But few have proved me wrong and Nibble Chocolate is one of those places. The chocolates here only use two ingredients - organic dark chocolate and organic cane sugar. You don't need anything else (and certainly not milk or cream to make chocolate!). The dark chocolate in the drink really stood out, as it should, with its earthy and somewhat sour taste that was enjoyable, and went well with the coconut milk we chose for our hot chocolate. It was especially perfect on a chilly night. In addition to hot chocolate, they do have a full espresso menu and some pastries that are all vegan-friendly. In the show room is where you can check out chocolates for sale and participate in the free chocolate tasting. But what was especially cool was learning about how chocolate is made from the different cacao beans all over the world, which they use here at Nibble. There's information on this process in the showroom. You can even taste the cacao beans, which were quite tasty. Nibble Chocolate is a great find in Old Town, especially if you're a dark chocolate fan! I was in the need of some hot chocolate after cold afternoon bike tour in SD. Nibble chocolate is ducked off in the very back of Old Town. It was a little hard to find, but it was so worth the effort. This place offers an assortment of vegan chocolate treats such as chocolate bars, truffles, and cookies for example. I highly recommend the Mexican hot chocolate with almond milk. The beverage was surprisingly rich since it was made with a dairy alternative. It was as velvety has whole milk. The Mexican spice made the hot chocolate vibe even more warming and toasty. It was really delicious. 5/5. I also got a chocolate flight which includes 4 small squares of dark chocolate sourced from different origins such as Madagascar, Brazil, and Peru. I like that the packaging of the chocolates also have little mentions of what flavor notes you should taste with each different origin. My favorite was the Peru. The other chocolate bars were alright. The other origins offered more acidic and fruity notes. If you get only one thing at all, I'd recommend the Mexican hot chocolate with almond milk! I tried everyone's drink in our big group and all were great. We had the mojita ice chocolate, raspberry iced mocha, dirty chai latte iced and this other iced drink with cinnamon syrup. Great coffees! The chocolate is good, but pricey of course. The service was excellent. The shop has an area where you can grind cocoa nibs and the kids had a blast doing that. The Brazil dark hot chocolate is really rich and decadent. Make sure to get a cup! I bought a flight of the 72% cocoa organic dark chocolate from Brazil, Peru, Dominican Republic, and Madagascar. Although the flavors are similar and the differences are subtle, I recommend trying them all! I'm impressed that there are only 2 ingredients in the dark chocolate - organic cocoa beans and organic cane sugar. Just the right amount of sugar with a pinch of sweetness enough to cut the bitterness of the cocoa beans. A true bargain for such high quality of chocolate (only $26 for the variety pack). They handcraft their chocolate in small batches with the premium trinitario and criollo cocoa beans that we can get our hands on. If you are a foodie you know how hard it is to find chocolate with a lot of chocolate. So they decided to make organic chocolate with just cocoa and a little bit of organic whole unrefined cane sugar...a gourmet chocolate satisfying enough that you could "Nibble" instead of gobble. I bought 8 assorted chocolate truffles. All I need was just one bite and I knew it's bloody great. Taking a bite into these truffles was like taking a bite into chocolate-coated fudge or being bedded for the first time. They were very sweet and much firmer than other truffles with a slight chew. Staff was amiable and professional. Service was on target. Prices were expensive but match the high quality. Overall, this was a good chocolate store.
