My family and I came here to celebrate my grandmas 91st birthday on Saturday. We had the family table dinner and called the day prior to reserve. Nicole was amazing and so helpful both on the phone and at the restaurant. The food was amazing, staff so sweet and our fellow patrons that night were the best. Over all just an amazing experience I would highly recommend the family table dinner there was so much food each and course was amazing my family thoroughly enjoyed it all. This is a decent local family restaurant. We have been there twice now, the pizza has been yummy both times and some of the appetizers too. However, the mains to me are lacking. The shrimp appetizer and the calamari are yummy. The shrimp in the pasta entrees are tiny popcorn shrimp. My brother even got food poisoning from the seafood risotto. I personally do not understand the stellar reviews, to me this is not a top restaurant it's a kid friendly place to go and get some pizza and zeppole. read more

Nice family restaurant. Food is consistently good. Particularly love the Braised Short Rib, Chicken Angelina and the Calamari. Either come with a big appetite or enjoy leftovers for the following day (still delicious!). I usually go for the latter because I have to have desert, Tiramisu or Cannoli - so good. I don't think we have ordered anything here we didn't like. Pizzas are amazing, too. The thin crust and the tasty marinara sauce is yummy. Plus we can bring our own wine. Reasonable prices. Not to mention service is the best, very attentive. They all work as a team. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in. I can see how this restaurant made the Yelp list of top 100 restaurants in the USA. We started with the Mozzarella en Carrozza appetizer...their fresh tomato sauce is superb. I ordered the Kitchen Rigatoni as an entree. Unique and delicious. This is a true family-run trattoria, very welcoming servers. The zeppole for dessert were the best I ever had. It was a bit loud at times, but that's mostly because there was a large party next to us. It gets crowded, make a reservation! Enjoy! read more

Although we did not have reservations, the host/owner was very accommodating and welcoming. All staff members were friendly with open smiles. Foodwise, with kids, I was forced to order the plain margarita pizza but ordered the clam pasta and entree with eggplant and chicken (forgot the name). Since I ate the pizza when it was cooled, the dough was a bit tough. Perhaps I'll have to have it when it comes right out. All the pasta and entrees were good. I do recommend this place bc 1) owner and staff was wonderful, 2) food was better than your plain Jane Italian joints. read more

Nicholas Anthony restaurant is a gem. Been there dozens of times and never disappoints. Have held parties for men's group I am chair for 50 men hard to please men and yet each time with different and creative menus we receive rave reviews My wife and I go as often as can either just two of us or bring friends and have brought in family meals especially when my grown children come over and always hit. Planning another trip there end of this week. First timer here post COVID. I was nervous to try a new spot because the quality of food in most restaurants have gone down since the pandemic. But the reviews on google were positive and how bad can you mess up Italian food? I decided to order the chicken cutlet sandwich and pasta. I was craving penne alla vodka but it wasn't on the menu. I called and spoke with the hostess to place my order. She said they didn't have penne all vodka, but the kitchen could make it for me, as they've done it before. It would cost $18. My stomach was happy and waited 25 min as recommended before picking up my food. When I got home, I was disappointed I did not get penne alla vodka as promised and instead was given their regular pasta dish, penne sicilia. Taste wise, it was okay. But that's not what I wanted. The hostess should have called me back and told me they couldn't make the penne alla vodka as planned. I would have ordered something else. The cutlet sandwich was very good. Fries were still crispy and hot. The chicken was crispy, well seasoned and tasted fresh. The bread was crispy, not soggy like others, despite the sauce on the bread. I added some spinach to it when I got home to give it some color. I wish there was more sauce on the sandwich, but thank God for chick fil a sauce! I would return and try out another dish, but would be sure to check my order before leaving. It was very crowded on a Saturday night, which is a good sign. read more

Great family restaurant and overall neighborhood gem. This place is BYOB. We always feel so welcome by the staff here, and on multiple occasions, the chef has come out to check on our satisfaction with the food. I cook Italian at home, and I'm pretty discerning when it comes to Italian food. I've never been disappointed here. My family loves the linguini with clams with white wine sauce, and I always enjoy the chicken cutlet sandwich. We always have enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Definitely give Nicholas Anthony a shot! read more

I have never been fooled by a Yelp rating before. I rely completely on Yelp when picking a restaurant and do not even consider the other ones. Nicholas Anthony is a nice neighborhood family restaurant. It is no five star establishment. The service was attentive but the food came out painfully slowly. The quality of the food was acceptable....rating somewhere between a 3 to 4 star. It is the ambiance that is off putting. Hard wood floor, metal ceiling and plaster walls create an enviroment that makes it almost impossible to hear your partner since the place caters to middle class families with lots of screaming kids. On two ocassions I told our waitress i had no idea what she was saying and had to wait for a lull in the cacophony. If i come back, it will be with my kids for pizza and I will sit right next to my wife, not across the table from her like tonite. read more

'Family' is not an understatement! Whether you know the owners or not, you'll leave feeling like family. The restaurant is small but not too tight. Bathrooms are immaculate. Wait staff are so nice and attentive. Oh and the food?? Amazingly delicious. I have been there several times and we all loved everything we've had. Last night was Cajun calamari (special), HUGE plate of long hots with homemade potato chips and provolone cubes, ribeye, halibut with crabmeat (special), and of course the zeppoles served in a brown paper bag. Excellent large portioned Italian dishes, served at a reasonable price. I found the menu to be an interesting mix of casual and fine dining, as well as classic Italian dishes, along with riffs on the Italian classics. The flavors were perfect in the veal special I ordered, with the stuffing making it all the way through the dish not just on the first bite. Their version of the traditional Mozzarella en carrozza was also very good. I tasted the Tuscan Rigatoni dish my aunt ordered, excellent, I will order that next time, loved the kick of heat the dish had. The flavors are on point and the staff is so friendly and detail oriented. The highlights for me are: The clams appetizer- wow, such flavor and delicious combination of ingredients! The ribeye- perfectly cooked and seasoned! Couldn't ask for a better ribeye anywhere.. Peter Luger, Ruth Chris who?? And the crispy, fluffy, just enough salt, fries.. I'm in heaven! I love that they change up their specials- they are always delicious and seasonal. They had a chicken soup this winter that was fantastic! My family and I have been several times and I always want to just have the ribeye. That's how delicious it is! The staff remembers our family, makes great recommendations.
